We went as a big family of 13, and tried many of their authentic Hong Kong street stall dishes. The dishes all had 鍋 氣! The preserved meat rice pot, oyster cake and roasted pepper chicken were particularly good.
Don’t be put off by the low overall ratings...that was due to this place’s former existence as a poor Taiwanese style cafe.
My girlfriend and I wanted to eat at potters but it was a full house. So we decided to dine next door at Wei dao.
The renos were done very nicely and simple. The menu had alot of variety. They gave us complimentary chicken feet to start. Loved it. This goes great with beer. Then our other two dishes came out and the prep and quality was nice. It was a clean meal. It wasn't heavily caked in oil and I would feel groggy afterwards. I would definitely come back to try their crab and seafood dishes. My girlfriend and I had a great dinner.
Service kinda lacked. But I guess we lucked out this time.
Newly renovated. New executive chef. New menu. They now serve authentic Hong Kong style food. Cozy and child friendly environment. Their spicy chilli crab is so good. Highly recommended. Although they do not have bubble tea and waffle now, HK style milk tea and drinks still available. Beer was served with pre-refridgerated bowl. It is a tradition way to drink beer in HK. If you want to try authentic Taste of HK, Wei Dao is one of the finest one you can give it a try.
This restaurant is under new management now, completely different menu and new renovation. No more Taiwanese style food. The chinese name is 香港味道 meaning taste of Hong Kong. The food is Hong Kong 大牌檔 market style(not the best English translation), which is very authentic and unique. Still cannot find this style in Vancouver yet.
taste good, portion is big. They were having their soft opening when I went, staff are friendly. I definitely will go again

October 8, 2016 · by ThatShanghaiGirl · Another taiwanese place near Metrotown that I’ll be visiting white often. They have some pretty interesting dishes on their menu and a very wide selection of food. Service was very polite, and
Wei Dao Cafe is a Taiwanese cafe in Burnaby that, until recently, I never knew existed. I drive by it everyday but, because the restaurant is located in the back of a tiny mini mall (the same area as Potter’s Garden), you really don’t notice it unless you’re looking for it. The restaurant has layout in the shape of an “L” and it feels quite spacious (especially towards the back of the restaurant). However, the decor (or lack thereof) is rather uninspired. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a seat by the window but this place gets busy during the lunch hour rush so you have to show up early.
Fairly new taiwanese cafe in south bby. The One has competition now! Very flavorful (albeit msg probably) dishes! The platter (pork belly, chkn wings, tofu, bung, egg, bean curd and instant noodles) was 13$. SUPER garlicy sauce drizzled over the whole plate. Chkn nuggets were lightly battered and more flavorful than The One. The egg tofu with broccoli was very good but stingy with the broccoli (only 3 pcs). All that for 35$!
We were on Kingsway and passed by Wei Dao Café, a new Taiwanese Restaurant in Burnaby. We ended up decided to give it a try. Wei Dao has a wide selections and varieties of dishes other than Taiwanese. Wei Dao also serves dishes and desserts in Chinese styles (Canton or Hong Kong). The environment is clean and comfortable.
The food was great, and they came in pretty big portions. The servers are friendly, and restaurant is very clean. Definitely coming back again!

Return: Yes when craving for Taiwanese food!!! Must try item(s): Bubble Tea, and Hot pots
My wife and I were craving for Taiwanese food tonight, coincidently we swinged by a new Taiwanese Restaurant on Kingsway, Burnaby. We had spent some time to go through the whole menu (like 15mins), and definitely would tried the Hambuger Steak & Rice next time. Because there were 2 slices of pineapple on the hamburger shown in the picture, interesting combination! For the food, We tried the Sour Cabbage and Fish Hotpot, Special Beef Noodle in Soup, and Deep Fried Chicken Nugget. For the drinks, we both had traditional milk tea. Suggestion: we would recommend to ask for less sweetness (1/4) if this is your first time to try their drinks. The overall quality is very good, and we will bring some friends to try again for sure.
