Review Amorosa Pasta House - Burnaby

A lovely place to have a quiet dinner. The sauce on pasta definitely was freshly made, quite delicious. And the pasta was handmade too, cooked to the right texture not mushy at all. Hubby had lamb shoulder and happy at his dish. Karamari was crispy outside and tender inside, and very fresh. The staff was friendly. We were full so didn't try dessert, this will be next time. By the way, I love those paintings on the walls.

Great spot for Italian food with a lot of options and so far all we've tried were really good. Staff was also super friendly. Pastas we had were really good and highly recommend. We had the spinach-cheese tortellini, lasagna and a custom beef ravioli with the four cheese sauce. I normally would like the lasagna the most but, the tortellini pasta definitely was the best one we had. The spinach-cheese filling on those were really good. I would have preferred baked lasagna but, this was also pretty good. A lot of sauce on this and makes each bite very tasty. For the beef ravioli, could not taste much of the beef but, four cheese flavour sauce was what made this dish. We also had the chicken souvlaki platter. Only tried thw chicken for this but, it was tender and still juicy. Pita bread was very soft and yummy as well. Appetizer was calamari. Nice amount of strong onions and great tzatziki sauce. What more to ask for. The dessert we tried was a filo wrapped cheesecake. This you have to try. Its a different take on cheesecake and absolutely loved it. Served warm with a crunchy filo wrapper and surrounded with cream and some chocolate sauce. The cheesecake was very smooth and creamy and not too sweet at all. This was probably one of my favorite items. Would love to come back another time and try their other items.

Alright burnaby fam, let's blow up this restaurant, they have been here 30 years, and honestly the food is amazing. Kelly our server is also amazing. Surprised that its 8 pm they are not busy today. Please show some love for this place ❤️

I had a wonderful dinner at Amorosa pasta house in last weekend. My friend ordered #11 (I think😅). It's a plain white cream sauce without anything. Mine was #19, shrimps and scallops in cream and red sauce around. It's kinda like the rose but it's not. Because you can eat as cream or tomato sauce individually as you want. And if you want rose, you can mixed alittle bit which gives you more options and more fun than just a rose sauce. Then, you choose different types of pasta. Our waiter said he preferred short pasta in my dish. But I then choosed Alfredo as my friend because we love wide noddles. Both my friend and I were enjoyed our dish alot. There are two different size options in each pasta. My friend ordered a big plate and mine was small. The ceasar salad was disappointed tho. The lecture was watery and not enough of dressing. What I like about Amorosa is not only about the pasta, but also the staffs. They were so friendly and talking to you like you are the regular customers. It was just so relax and comfortable like eating in your friend's home even it's my first time visit. Unfortunately, Amorosa opens for dinner only. Also, there are not many parkings on the street. However, you can turn into the ally next to Super Save gas station and go to their parking in the back of restaurant. You can also booked a table ahead.

Driven by here for years. Always heard good things. Finally got to experience the pasta! It's a quaint place, very basic tables and decor but don't let that fool you. With the help of our knowledgeable server William, we selected an appetizer and two main entrees as well as a half litre of red wine. We liked the options of picking your choice of noodles and sauce. I had tortellini in smoked salmon and shrimp with a double layer of sauce (tomato on the bottom with a second layer of a white cream sauce). Delicious! Large portion and very hot. Half came home. My better half had a beautiful large portion of chicken parm with a healthy dose of pesto linguini. Very tasty! Thank you William. Busy street with limited parking. Covid protocols in place. I would definitely return. Grazie!

It was very much a Greek restaurant serving Greek and Italian fare. Was it great... No. Was it ok. Definitely.

Was looking for food on my way and this restaurant was on my route. I had never been here before but I am so glad I decided to try it out. It was amazing! Our table got the musaka and pesto fettuccine. We got alot of food for the price and both dishes were delicious. I'll definitely be going back there.

Amorosa is my favourite restaurant. Since they first opened, it's been my go-to place for special occasions and just a night out for dinner. There are some other Italian restaurants in town, but everything at Amorosa is made in-house. During covid, we often ordered for pickup. They also have a Greek restaurant - it's called Santorini. When not everyone in your group wants to eat Italian, there is a choice.

My wife and I went to Amorosa for the first time yesterday. Very pleased with the service and the meal was exceptional. The chef/owner came out to say hello and we chatted for a few minutes. Very nice man. We are looking forward to goIng back and trying something new from the menu.

The food was awesome and so was the service :-) I have recommended this place to a bunch of my friends

This. Was. Bizarre. My girlfriend was “allowed” to pick the restaurant on our last day in Vancouver and appropriately searched for the closest one to our hotel. She found two, but which cuisine, Italian or Greek. Which restaurant, Amorosa or Santali? Turns out, it didn’t matter—they’re the same restaurant. And I don’t mean they’re spiritually the same because of shared owners or have matching decors or similar menus. They are literally the same restaurant. Different signs, different entrances, hell even different addresses, all leading to the same building, like budget saving on a movie set. Zomato lists an Amorosa Santali house AND a Santali Souvlaki House. They combined the names on one entry but forgot to delete the other. I thought this was a joke, like if I pass through the Amorosa door, do they hand me the Italian menu, and the reverse if I enter through the Santali door. Do the accents of the server’s change? Nope, doesn’t matter; they plant you down anywhere and hand you both menus. Why don’t they go for broke, list six different restaurants outside, and turn it all into a food court? Alternatively, maybe just put up a curtain or something. I felt like this was a scene in a sitcom—Jerry Seinfeld must have gotten a few zingers out of this one. I would love it if someone got enraged at the service, stormed out of the restaurant, promising to seek competition, and then re-entered next door back into the same establishment. The idea is funny just thinking about it. So, after an unnecessary 260 words later, we’ve established Amorosa and Santali are one in the same, meaning the chefs on staff now must commit double duty preparing twice the variety of dishes (and you have to know there are fewer chefs on staff now than when the restaurants were separate). It would be expected that food quality would be compromised as result. And you’d be right. It was an afternoon when we arrived, the only patrons in both restaurants. Since we had previously decided on Italian (my girlfriend select Amorosa), we passed through the appropriate doors and asked for the corresponding menu. On it revealed the customary options seen in every clichéd (see boring) Italian restaurant…as well as every Boston Pizza. One page of the menu is reserved for appetizers, soups, and salads, and the second is all pasta—where you can either pick a premade plate or match a pasta with a sauce and topping. Given that, this one page boasted…running the numbers, 20 + (10 x 5 x [12 x2])…1220 different combinations. (Wait, is that right?) We both ordered tomato with Italian sausage but with different pastas, her’s rotini while mine gnocchi. The plates arrived quickly, assuring that nothing was made to order. They were also enormous, carrying enough sustenance for that afternoon and for the next meal. Well, I say the next, but in truth, it kept so well in take-away, we were able to enjoy the leftovers a half-week later. I pride myself having a voracious appetite, and even I admit being unable to clean my plate. This was a full pound of starch, not including the fringed garlic bread the size of my forearm. It became clear early on they are supplanting quality with quantity, which, if you follow that formula must mean the food was substandard. I rated it on par if not maybe slightly below Boston Pizza, which I know sounds harsh. The gnocchi was clearly pulled from a factory-processed bag and the parmesan shakers were identical to those found at the aforementioned chain (and I do mean identical). It wasn’t bad, and a $13 price tag for a plate that immense was astounding. There were no Boston Pizzas nearby, so if stuck in the area, I imagine you could do a lot worse. It’s not an ugly restaurant either—at least it’s not covered floor to ceiling in shades of brown. Just…yellow. The Amoroso half looks better than the Santali half, bringing up the observation discovered later that we had been seated on the wrong half. Santali chairs had no cushions. In the end, all I can say is that Amorosa—er, Santali is suitable for people unwilling to drive five minutes further and find something better. Overall, I’d rather be in Boston Pizza. And I hate Boston Pizza. Food: 2.5/5 Service: 3/5 Presentation: 3/5 Value: 4/5 Recommendation: 3/5

For our family Christmas dinner, my aunt suggested Amorosa Pasta House to try something different. I remember coming here probably 7-8 years ago, but don’t remember much of it. Amorosa Pasta House is located in a random and not very convenient area in South Burnaby.

Amorosa has a quaint environment. The decor is not as bright as I would have wanted but it gives off a cosy vibe. There are beautiful images on the wall. I thought it was a full Italian restaurant but it is Italian and Greek combined.<br/><br/>To start my friend and I shared the caprese insalata and the hummus with pita. The hummus was one of the best hummus' I have ever tasted. It was quite dense with chickpeas and had a garlic flare. The caprese insalata would have tasted better if the tomatoes they used were not as ripe. I found the ripeness of the tomatoes made the salad a bit soggy overall.<br/><br/>For a main dish I had the cartoccio with a cream red sauce. It was super tasty. There was a lot of seafood in my dish so I didn't feel cheated. Though I did not receive the spinach tortellini I asked for, it tasted good regardless. Everyone else enjoyed their meal as well.<br/><br/>The only downfall is the service. The amount of time it took for us to get our food was quite slow. I found it hard to get a hold of our server who appeared to be a little scattered at the best of times. Otherwise the price is good and I would definitely return.

Looks to be authentic Italian/Greek food but very rarely is there any flavours. I've had better and could probably make better at home. The staff is nice but for the amount you pay and the quality you get. No thanks. And their idea of garlic bread is bread, not toasted - thrown in a bag with two butter packs.. Ok. Please maybe add some salt & pepper with the pasta too. 😔

When I first started dating my now husband in 2011 we found this place. We loved it and were always here on Fridays/Saturdays we even go to know the staff. It was a great option because I love greek food and my husband loves italian. We got the best of both words and I don't know why people are so wierded out by the two cuisine option. Its not that big of a deal. <br/><br/>Either way we have not gone here in months. Since about May 2015 the food quality has gone down incredibly. The salads are not as fresh, the pasta sauces are watery and the portion sizes have gone down. A large pasta was impossible to finish before and now its do-able if you are hungry enough and not much more then small size. Additionally, the prices have gone up which is acceptable due to inflation and food costs going up. But to increase cost and reduce portion was infuriating. <br/><br/>One time comes to mind when we were there with friends and two of us ordered the same dish but one was large one was small. When they came out the large order was literally the same size as the small with maybe a scoop of pasta more. When we asked they seemed to didn't know what we were talking about since we have been there previously and they knew us. This was the final straw with my husband and we haven't really been back since. <br/><br/>This place would get a glowing 5 start if they maintained everything we fell in love with in 2011 but sadly its not.

Please save yourself food poisoning and make yourself something at home, This place is f***ing disgusting, dirty plates, left over food I picked off my plate and there was green sh*t in my fork! The food made me puke, the staff don't wash their hands (I've worked here, I've seen it) one lady would touch dirty mops and dirty dishes then go chop lettuce and make peoples meals<br/>This place is a gross, cheap hell hole

I still find this place a bit confusing- Greek? Italian? I came here for dinner with some friends. Big menu, a LOT of choices. As I had a hankering for Italian I will stick to reviewing that part of the menu. You can choose your pasta and your sauce; or choose from a large list of sauces, some of which I have not seen anywhere else. There's also quite a few baked pasta options. I chose veal Parmigiana with the Arcobalena sauce-bell peppers, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes with chicken broth and olive oil. Large piece of veal with lots of melted cheese, a pretty big portion of pasta and sauce even though we were told it was "smaller"! Flavors were good, but nothing mind blowing. All of my friends were happy with their pastas too-huge portions! You can opt for the small size, but why when you can have leftovers the next day? Overall value was good. This place is great if you want a large portion of pasta, without the Anton's sized lineup! <br/>

I have been dining here for years!!! From the days of just when it was just Amorosa. It has a great neighborhood vibe. The staff are friendly and it's great to see the turn around is not high. It's always nice to see a familiar face. The portion size are very generous. So bring your appetite and good company.

Great pasta and Greek food. Great place to have Italian and Greek food in same place plus great service and friendly people. Must try...our family loves this place.

Warmth & funky feel is gone. This was a great neighbourhood restaurant. Expansion is always tricky - this one didn't work well. <br/>The old Amorosa had a small bar & kitchen - felt intimate & homey. The old bar area is empty & dark. Some lighting would help.<br/>The new greek side was good on it's own but now it's one big box. <br/>The food is the same - so if like large portions - it's still fine. Alas, we are now in search of a small, great Italain restaurant - any suggestions?

Lynn. Our group of friends always went to Amarosa's for our birthday because the food was good and you got $10.00 off the birthday persons dinner. Last night I went there with my friend for her special birthday. We told the waitress that it was her birthday and she said we will get a free house salad because it was her birthday. We told her it should be $10.00 off the meal. She said she would ask the owner about this and get back to us. A couple of minutes later the other waitress came to our table and said no we do not get $10.00 off because that was changed yesterday. We only get a salad. It was still on their web site so she should have honored it but she said no so since they did not care about business we left and went to the Spagetti House and had a wonderful dinner. Will never go back to Amorosa Pasta House again (just out of principle). They should have said they would honor it this time since it was still on their web site but never again. Too bad, so sad Amorosa but I am passing on your awful customer service atticks.

Birthday dinner. As yesterday was my birthday, my friend suggested that we go to Amorosa as she had checked the menu online and it stated that we would received $10.00 off our second entree if we showed picture ID. They did not honour this - stated that they no longer did this - give a free salad instead. We told them that it did not state this on their website and that we had checked this out before coming. They stated that they were sorry but they had just changed this and that the website would be updated shortly. We left without dinner on principle and enjoyed a great dinner at the Spaghetti House.

Great Food, Amazing Service. This evening, my daughter and I went to Amorosa for her birthday dinner. Our server, Amanda, was genuinely very nice, explaining menu items and very attentive. My daughter ordered tortellini with seafood and a delicious white wine sauce and I ordered tomato/meat sauce lasagna. The portions, despite mine being a "small", were huge and very delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Need I say more???

Tasty and plentiful. After reading some older reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. We had dined at Amorosa several years ago before it amalgamated with its next door competitor (Santali Souvlaki). Back then, the huge serving we received was overwhelming, and when I went on a diet, we chose not to go back. After a disappointing dinner at an Italian restaurant in Port Moody~where the Carbonari was unrecognizable as such~we decided to give Amorosa another shot. First, the service was excellent, even though it took a bit longer for our meal to arrive than in some restaurants (it wasn't a loongg wait), it was worth it. For starters my wife and I split a small Insallata alla Amorosa. Delicious and plenty for the two of us as the waitress had promised. Their fresh bread was wonderful. Our Carbonara pasta was prepared and flavoured to perfection! While the FILO Cheesecake was a little too rich and too hard to cut, it didn't spoil the evening. Next time we'll likely pass on dessert. As it was, we had to bring home some of the generous portion of Carbonara. Most importantly, we'll be back and we encourage you to give a try, too. Next time we may try the Greek menu.... If you're a restaurant snob, this down to earth, happy place may not be your cup of tea; if you're like us, you'll appreciate having such a comfortable and pleasant dinning experience available almost in your back yard.

Amorosa great food. Went for our first time to Amorosa and will not be our last. Food was good and the service was excellent and the prices are very good. They sure give you a lot of food on your plate most of us took some home as well. Do not hesitate to give them a try.

This place is good value, decent pasta. Its not le luminati so don't expect fine dinning. It can be victim of its own success so pick a thursday night. Portions are large for canada. I give it eight out of ten simply because our server was great and value was excellent.

Weird texture pasta, unfair service. We had purchased Groupon and decided to go on a Saturday night. We noticed it was busy once we walked in. We got a table quite quickly and orders were taken efficiently. Our server was very nice. So far impressive. Our salads arrived in 1/2 hour and after that we had been waiting for our pasta for 1 hour. Another table who sat later than us already got their food. The table who ordered before us had finished their meals and ready for dessert. We approached the server and she immediately responded offensively and said I need to understand that they were full house and our order should be coming soon. I told her we understood and just wanted to follow up (even though I disagreed with what she explained as it wasn't true). Right after our follow up our food came. The pasta's texture was very rubbery and seafood were not very fresh at all. The server spent all her time helping other table which was very disappointing. We certainly won't come next time.

I was originally super put off by what I'd read about this place but saw they had a great deal on, a Groupon that was like $18 for a salad & pasta lunch for two, how can you really go wrong?<br/>I'm so glad I took a chance on this one, the food was AMAZING. So fresh, super delicious, and huuuge portions for a "small" pasta (LOL).<br/>I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about in terms of "tiny portions" because honestly I couldn't even finish my food. I don't eat a lot in one sitting as it is, but still, my boyfriend couldn't finish his either and he's definitely not a dainty eater. I mean he ate it when we got home, but still. haha. <br/>Honestly though, amazing quality of food. We both got the Amorosa Salad (after reading reviews that the Caesar Salad wasn't as good?) which was aaaaaawesome, great tangy/sweet dressing and very fresh vegetables, the pasta was the best part though. <br/>My boyfriend got rotini with a sauce I can't remember the name of, it was a tomato base with italian sausage, shrimp, and chicken- so amazing. I got rotini with a curry sauce, which was also super delicious. I think I may have preferred his but mine really was great too, they were both soooo so good. <br/>On top of that our server was SO SWEET, i didn't get her name but she was working the lunch shift on a Tuesday! So helpful and super attentive, our water and coffee were always filled, and she was really polite.<br/>Definitely going back :)

Birthday dinner. We had reservations for a birthday party on a Saturday night. Service was REALLY slow, but friendly and nice. It took over an hour for our bread to arrive after we sat down and it was never refilled. It took over an hour and 15 minutes for our food to come out after ordering! Food portions for the pasta dishes were huge, but portions for the other meals were on par with other restaurants. I tasted the pork chops, chicken souvlaki, chicken parmigiana, and 2 different pasta dishes. Food tasted good, not great. House salad was better than caesar by far. Reasonable prices on beer. <br/><br/>Overall nothing spectacular. I had a better experience than what the other reviews sounded like. Despite wanting to support a local business, I don't think I would go back by choice.

I recently purchased a groupon for the restaurant. Never before have I been there. When I called I was told I could use max 2 vouchers for a table of 4 or more. When I arrived the girl said only 1 per table. We weren't offered bread or anything. Wasn't impressed with the service. The hostess bought the adult food first and my kids had to wait about 7 mins more to get their food. The path to the washroom was lined and blocked by chairs. The side we were seated on was really cold must have been because of the a/c. But worst part was that a fly flew out of my salad. I didn't say anything but didn't tip either. <br/>Oh well, what to do. Looked like a cool place. Not so sure I would recommend the place though

I have been eating here for over 10 years. We always go for birthdays. We ate here tonight for a birthday celebration and the entire experience was awful. We have noticed a decline in service and quality over the last few visits, but tonight was simply unacceptable. Some of our party was late arriving, so we ordered salads and asked for some bread. The server brought back one basket of bread for a table of 8 people and was completely perplexed when we asked for more. After ordering when our entire party arrived, we waited for close to an hour for our food and asked twice about the delay. When the food finally came out it took almost 10 minutes for all of the plates to come out. The service was sloppy, with servers leaning across the table and passing plates. At one point a server came over with some pita and Asked if we ordered pita. We responded no but asked if it came with the calamari. She responded no but we said we would take it to which she snidely replied that if we didn't order it we couldn't have it. It needed to go to the right table. As far as I'm aware, her job is to determine the right table, not ours. After completing the meal, we asked for the bill right away, as we had waited so long. A server came over to refill coffee and another person at the table asked for a cup of coffee to which he replied in an extremely rude voice, "ya but that means I have to brew another pot." needless to say she decided not to have the coffee. We proceeded to wait almost half an hour for the bill and had to ask 3 times. Wen the bill finally did come it was completely wrong. The server chose to blame it on a glitch in the system. She said sorry about the wait but offered no reason and no compensation. I find the fact that we has to ask about the food twice and for the bill 3 times unacceptable. Combine this with the horrific service and the experience was unpleasant. The restaurant was Only a third full. I've seen a decline in service and quality, but tonight was the last straw. After 10 years of dedicated business, we will not be back. I'm disappointed by amarosa and feel my money is better spent elsewhere.

Went a long time ago and had the calamari which was way too salty. Recently decided to give it a second chance to try the pasta.. Waited a very long time for an absolutely flavourless dish. TERRIBLE - will not be back

Great Take Out. We had take out for lunch for a staff party. Food was fresh and warm. They took the time to write the names on all of the containers...was a nice touch! Huge portions, most of us have left overs! Will for sure be eating there again.

Food is great. Service sucks. After being seated, we didn't get acknowledged for 15 minutes and then water was served. We waited another 15 minutes before they took our drink orders. By the time we ordered food, we had already been sitting there for an hour. Finally when food was served, we didn't receive the bread until we were half way thru our meals....I was not impressed.

Dinner last night. Terrible is the only word to describe our experience last night. One dish was very watery pasta primavera, with CELERY!! Big chunks of CELERY in it! It was swimming in water; it was awful. They got one of the dishes wrong, (lasagne instead of moussaka) , we were almost finished our meals before that meal was even served! We each got 1/4 of a potato, one piece of carrot, one piece of cold, raw broccoli. <br/>We asked for bread, (to mop up the watery sauces!) and were told there was an extra charge for bread!! Unbelievable. Our dinner for 6 cost over $150.00, with only one beer and one glass of wine, everyone else drank water. Will we go back? NOPE! I called the manager today, he said he was cooking last night and didn't think it was "that bad". There are so many great restaurants in Burnaby, stay away from this one!

STINGY, STINGY AND ARROGANT!. I loved this restaurant but they definitely have taken a wrong turn! I ordered the smaller of a $14 and $17 dish of pasta where you ordered 3 things to go on it like mushrooms, chicken, etc. I ordered meatballs (notice the plural as it was on the menu?). I got 1/2 of a meatball ONLY. They actually cut it in half!!!! The waitress was embarrassed, the hostess (I presume) arrogantly explained that was what I should expect for a small order. LOL! I'll not go there again nor will I recommend it! STINGY STINGY STINGY and not even very smart about their stinginess!!!! The half meatball, BTW was the size of a butter packet as shown in the picture!

Our night was ruined by such poor services!. We should have learned from the reviews that we read...my apologies to the ppl that left honest comments here.<br/>This was hands down the WORST restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. The food was decent for the price, and the company i was with were great but the service was a 1 out of 10.They did not seat us when we walked through the door, instead pointed to our table to have us seat ourselves. The bread was stale and cold, the food took over an hour to come, and when we politely asked when the food is coming, the ignorant waitress gave us an 'smartass' comment "we have to cook it right?"<br/>i mean, I have never imagined a server can give us that kind of response. Then the "busser" as the waitress referred her as, accidentally dropped one of our dishes on the floor. We did not have time for them to cook another plate as we had kids who were tired and needed to get home. The "busser" agreed to remove the one charge from the bill. The waitress then came back and made a big deal about it and said the chef already started to cook another plate. That was plain lying in front of us! cause the cook could not have started cooking it when it took so long for us to get our food in the first place. That waitress needs to either work in a different profession or treat her customers as well her fellow coworkers with some respect. We will not be going back to this restaurant. Poor service from one person put a bad taste in our mouths permanently!<br/><br/>Good Day.

This is my 2nd time here and I'm always greeted by a very friendly lady. Thank you for that. The prices are a bit high but the food is worth it. I ordered homous and calamari lunch. The Caesar salad came with the hummus. Nice presentation. I never had to ask for a refill for water. They are very attentive. When I came in there were only a few tables occupied. Maybe the previous reviews were one off situations. Let's hope so. The calamari came and it was prepared to perfection. Lightly battered, and seasoned nicely. Generous portion as advertised. The vegetables and potato was very good. I agree they are a bit chintzy with their tzaziki. They should be more generous with that. Regardless, I would most definitely come back and perhaps try the roast lamb next time. By the way, the bathrooms are clean and tidy. Sometimes that matters to me. Crystal and Kelly are the hosts an servers that assisted me for lunch. I'll come back just for those two because they were that courteous and professional. Thank you ladies.

Mama mia...Carbonara?!?. It was really bad. We thought that carbonara would be one of the dishes you can't really go wrong with. Yikes! The pasta texture was great, but the sauce was far too think and the bacon (no, it wasn't pancetta) seemed like it was boiled or something. The last time I was here, a good 3-4yrs ago, this place was decent. <br/><br/>However, it's interesting how they are not connect with Santali, so you can order from both menus. The greek food was awesome! Kelftico, chicken souvlaki and calamari dinner were all great. Tasty potatoes also. Great caesar salad as well with what seems to be a house made dressing.

We WON'T Be Back - ever!. We have been going to Amorosa for a number of years, but hadn't been back since they took over the space occupied by the Greek restaurant beside them. <br/> Wow - bigger is definitely NOT better.<br/> We arrived @ 7pm on a Saturday night. The expanded restaurant was half empty. The people that were seated didn't have food in front of them.<br/> That should have been our first warning.<br/> Even though there was tons of room to spare (& tables weren't reserved), the young hostess proceeded to take the names of the couple in front of us, and ourselves. Wait 15 minutes. We are still standing at the door looking at all those empty tables. One of the servers that has been at the restaurant for years then came by & asked why the hostess wasn't seating people. She muttered something about needing to check with a server. We were then seated, in the smaller, original space occupied by Amorosa.<br/> Our appetizer of calamari came out promptly, and was cooked properly. 1/2 full cup of tzatziki, so we asked for another.<br/> We then sat. And sat. And sat. Over the course of the next hour, we were joined by other diners all expecting to get dinner. Finally, when asked how much longer our order was going to be, we were told "It's VERY busy tonight" (restaurant still 1/2 full), and it seemed like no one else was eating either. <br/> Finally, after an hour & a quarter, our 3 plates of pasta arrived. My wife took her first bite of her fettuccine alfredo. The pasta was not even cooked al dente. It was so tough & stiff; she couldn't even twirl with her fork & spoon. Call the waitress over & show her. Then, to end the perfect meal, do you know what the waitress says? "Have you ever had the alfredo HERE before?"... Like my wife was wrong & should have expected it to be tough as leather or something. She sent it back, and because we didn't want to wait another hour for the second coming of alfredo, my wife & I split my plate of pasta.<br/> While we were eating, the table that got served immediately before us were having their plates cleared. I guess that was also the first time the waitress had chosen to ask how their meals were. One of the patrons said, "Those were the worst I've ever had anywhere".<br/> At least we knew it wasn't just us that got lousy food after waiting for way too long.<br/><br/> Come on people - this is pasta, not some sort of exotic fusion.<br/><br/> Then the final hit - our bill - they charged an extra $1 for the 1/2 cup of tzatziki, + $4.50 for three slices of garlic bread, that most restaurants simply include.<br/><br/> So to sum up: poor service, HUGE wait for food, poor food quality, BAD attitude + overpriced = you just lost these customers for life. We will never return.<br/><br/>EVER.

AMAZING !! We checked out this place due to the great rating it had on urban spoon. It was all around fantastic ! Great service, nice atmosphere, very reasonable prices, home cooked pasta & sauces, and GIANT portions. It's a new favorite now !

Great cheese garlic bread. I've passed by Amorosa many times but never knew it's there. It was though someone mentioned it online that I decided to check out this place. We ordered cheese garlic bread and two pasta dishes. All of them came out to be very good. Although the service was a little slow, we were able to pass the time by eating the cheese garlic bread. The bread was so delish that I would go back just for it! As someone mentioned previous, it's a great alternative if you don't want to wait for Anton's Pasta. One difference that I found between Amorosa's pasta and Anton's - Anton's pasta dishes tend to have more sauce. It'll still taste great even if you reheat it the next day. I'm not quite sure about how it'll turn out for Amorosa's. Anyway - it's a great pasta place and I'll definitely go back again.

Don't want to wait for Anton's?. If you like Anton's but hate the wait, say screw it and come here instead. It's just as good. They also fresh bake their bread everyday, and it's so good my mom's asked to buy some to bring home in the past.<br/><br/>The portions are just about as big, and the price is a little less. The selection is just as good, and it's also fresh made and home cooked. Best of all, no line.

I love the waitresses. The seafood caneloni is too die for. Their lasagne is exquisite. The entire staff are very courteous and hepful in choosing a particular Italian dish.

"Home"-made pasta that taste great and features huge portions. A neighbourhood favourite, my wife and I have been going here since our courtship. Go on your birthday and get free pasta!

Great selection of pastas. I want to go back and try all the other sauces! Large portions and good prices. I will definitely return when I am in the area.

When you can’t choose between Greek or Italian. Have both. I don’t make it a practice to come all the way out to Edmonds for dinner, but my guest swore that her favourite Italian restaurant that was out here was a gem, and worth a trip to try.  Initially I was a little confused seeing “Amorosa” dark, empty, gated, and abandoned. I eventually noticed the large novelty sign, a 2D chef holding a chalk board. It was used to say that the Greek restaurant, “Santali Souvlaki Restaurant” and the Italian, “Amorosa Pasta House” have merged, and were now one establishment. Both working out of the existing location of “Santali”. Walking in after 8:30pm on a Tuesday, the place was empty. Two tables clearing out and ours was just sitting down. I would later learn that they were only open until 9pm, because of the area. The place looked like a restaurant that belonged to a three star hotel. There were dull worn down carpets, orange flickering lights, pale off white walls, fake plants, and blin

As a food blogger, I think I was very tolerant for staying just because parking took forever too. But, I don’t think I will be returning. The food on the whole was bland and there wasn’t too much flavour. The ambiance was mediocre, it feels like a cheap pasta joint. But, its prices are not cheap. The service, I’m not exactly sure we had any service. The waitress that served us was friendly but, the food just came way too slow. This was one of the more disappointing dining experience we’ve had yet.

This was a really generous amount of pasta and enough to put you into carb overload. Like the linguine, the large Lasagna was a bit saucy.

My coworkers and I decided to check out Amorosa for lunch one day. Amorosa Pasta House is attached to Santali Souvlaki House and it’s run by Chef John Chow –  a Chinese Chef with a love for all things Italian and Greek.  His restaurants have a reputation for generous portions and friendly service.

A while ago, Dee and I were craving pasta. After a day of working in Burnaby, we went to Amorosa Pasta House for dinner. This was a fairly tiny restaurant with tight seating arrangements. The menu allowed you to make your own pasta with your choice of noodles, toppings and sauce, but both Dee and I opted for the ones on their regular menu. Before I get to the pasta, may I just say, they've got the best bread ever. I might be starving that day, but those bread, were amazing. My small order of spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce came with 2 large beef meat balls. Although the meat balls weren't dry, I thought it lacked a bit of seasoning. It was just a tad bland. The spaghetti had a good amount of sauce with it. The meat sauce was not bad, but there was something about it that reminded me of Chef Boyardee. Dee got penne with chicken, mushrooms, spinach in light cream sauce. The cream sauce was really light. I liked it better than the spaghetti a
