Love the food and the staff, every time we go we enjoy something new usually recommended by our servers and we've never been disappointed! Try the ginger beef, without doubt the best I have ever tasted.
Be warned the shared parking lot is very small and a bit of a nightmare but it's worth the effort! :)
到了溫哥華一定要品嚐台灣味的牛肉麵也!該店還有很多選擇,真的超棒的!
It all tasted as I ate in Taiwan
有聽過熊貓奶茶嗎?只是親身體驗才能感受到它的Q! 快來京園牛肉麵看看熊貓吧~
Ever heard of Panda Milk Tea? See it for yourself at Burnaby No.1 Beef Noodle House! Panda Qness
We arrived at 3 thinking it would be quiet but we were wrong, it was packed! Regardless, we were seated within 15 minutes.
The menu is huge and quite overwhelming, and can be confusing but was narrowed down quickly when we were informed that the soups have pork in the broth (I don’t eat pork). So we settled on the popcorn chicken, fried tentacles and red curry popcorn chicken combo that came with rice, seaweed and choy. It was delicious! The bubble tea and desserts were super tempting too so I’ll be back to try that out next time!
I used to eat here every week after church, because it's very near from Willingdon church. The last time I ate was 2014, and now 5 years later the beef noodle still taste the same. Yum! Truly lived up the name, no 1 beef noodle house 😋👍
Almost five years ago, some friends and I had a horrible experience at No. 1 Beef Noodle House. I wrote a pretty scathing review (linked for the lolz) on it and didn’t go back there for about four years. I reluctantly went back a year ago because my dad wanted to try it… and it was a lot better that time.
Finally a Taiwanese restaurant that serves beef noodle soup that doesn't skimp on the beef.
noodles cooked well and broth has good depth
Drinks are just OK
Will have to come back and try the fried chicken and ground pork beef rice next time
And yes there is limited parking, lucky I got a spot as I came early for lunch @ 11am, by 1130 place started filling up
•hole in a wall, located along a busy intersection: Willingdon & Moscrop, not so easy to spot as its at the very corner
• limited parking spots only, accessible by bus so I suggest you carpool
• between 3-5pm daily 1/2 price on drinks, excludes fresh fruit, tofu & desserts
• service is exceptional, patient & efficient servers
• food is amazing!!! Everything that we ordered, I have to rate it at 5/5. I bet the rest are as as good as what we had
• Beef shank noodle soup: the traditional, love the flavours, the noodles & extremely tender shank
• Deep fried basket: yum! The shrimp rolls rock! Chicken nuggets aren’t oily at all
• Drinks: fantabulous!
• I’ll surely be back for more and try other goodies from this awesome place!
I ordered lamb hot pot combo and it came with two side dishes, lamb hotpot and rice. Very good portion for all of the dishes. I was so full after eating there. The service was O.K. , but I waited for 15 minutes for my order, and I think it was because they had a lot of take out order at that time. Everything is OK except the parking. The parking lot is small and crowded. I came in at around 5:10 PM and out at around 6:10 PM. I waited for around 15 minutes to come out of the parking lot because people had to wait for cars to come in and out from opposite direction. Overall I think it is good experience and I will go again, except that maybe I will park in a nearby place or just go at different time when not many people there.
Was craving some beef noodle soup and with a restaurant named after it, it was a clear choice. This restaurant is actually a pretty decent size and we didn't have to wait for a table. Only annoying thing was parking because the lot was so small; we had to find parking elsewhere. Also, this place is cash only so be prepared!
We both ordered the tendon and beef shank noodle soup with thin noodle. I like how they have options for the noodle. The food came out fast. There was a good portion of beef, tendon, and noodle. I kind of didn't like how big the pieces of beef were because it was hard to bite. So if it was cut smaller, it would have been better. But after this bowl of noodles I was full.
Service was pretty good. It wasn't hard to flag down the servers. Food was good and the price is fair for what you get. I'd come back for more of their beef noodle soups.
○good service
○good food/ all dishes that I've tried were very tasty/ good selection of drinks too
○over priced/ alot of options to choose from/ decent portion
○family friendly
○parking is definitely limited
○cash only
○would I go back? Yes
It was very smart of the owner to open a student-friendly restaurant nearby a high school and a college.😛. From its name, one would expect this restaurant to be (primarily) a beef noodle house, but it turned out to be a Taiwanese bubble tea restaurant. In other words, they offer a wide range of entree combos (i.e. choice of protein + rice + side veggies). On paper, the combos are decently priced at $10.25 to $14. Funnily we didn’t order any beef noodles because we found other dishes to be more appetizing (they even advertised them more).
京園牛肉麵 (備受追捧的台式餐館)
付賬方法:現金 Cash Only
When a restaurant names itself “No. 1 Beef Noodle House,” the expectations are certainly high. Located across Moscrop Secondary and in a small Burnaby strip mall, No. 1 Beef Noodle House seems like an ideal place for some Taiwanese comfort food on a cold, rainy Vancouver day. This restaurant is a familiar favourite for some of my fellow food bloggers who grew up in the area. As for myself who was raised in Richmond, I must say that I had not ventured much to this particular neighbourhood for food.
This one brings me back. “No.1 Beef Noodle” is one of the handful of restaurants I frequented as a struggling student. Bubble tea and beef noodle served as an affordable choice when on a food run, as well as a comfy hang out with friends. So today as a grown adult, making enough to be able to eat out where and as I wish, I was delighted to be brought back to my youth with this media tasting hosted by “Chinese Bites”. Because to be honest, without it, I don’t think I would return, unless for nostalgia. I eat to discover, not eat to repeat.
I love this place. I go here with my family all the time. Prices are decent and although not all servers know English that well, they usually try their best. My favourites are the beef shank noodle soup with sliced noodles, the mini lamb hot pot, and Sichuan spicy fish hot pot. The fried rice is also really good.
Havent been here since the BCIT school days which is years ago! Always a packed lunch spot, No. 1 Beef Noodle House does noodles the Taiwanese way, serving up some authentic style noodles and dishes. I was invited by Chinesebites to tasting their menu here. Here are the dishes we got to try:. Special home style beef noodle soup 私房牛肉麵
This is my go to dish here. It’s a no frills Laksa with none of the usual accompaniments that one would associate with Laksa, but there is just something so comforting about this version. It also comes with your choice of popcorn chicken, hainanese chicken or red fermented fried pork chop. The laksa is plenty enough for me so I usually get the fried chicken to share with whoever I’m eating with.
Dined in and order take out on several occasions. I like the noodle soups here. I've had the Taiwanese beef noodle soups (tried both broths, regular and spicy) and both are delicious. The seafood laksa is also very good. Broth is packed with flavour.
Would not recommend the online ordering service though. It takes too long. Easier to call in to order and your order is ready in 15 mins.
First time coming here and it was quite busy for a Wednesday during lunch. All the tables were full except for maybe 1? My friend and I ordered beef noodle soup with thick (they call it 'sliced') noodles. My bowl had about 6 big pieces of beef shank and it was SO tender, I was so surprised since I have never had such tender beef at a noodle house so far in metro Vancouver. The broth wasn't over powering but it was flavorful enough. The noodles were cooked just right and they were super smooth! I thoroughly enjoyed the beef noodle bowl. We also ordered XLB and deep fried bun w condensed milk. The deep fried bun was pretty standard. The XLB was alright, the skin could've probably been thinner and it takes a while for them to make it (it didn't come out till my friend and I were already done our beef noodle soups & half the deep fried buns), so unless you have time to kill, I wouldn't recommend waiting around for mediocre XLB. I would definitely recommend this place for the beef noodle soup though!
Best spicy beef noodle soup freaking ever. Excellent broth, lovely beef, good noodles. Parking is hard, but for culinary perfection, well worth it.
Pretty decent for a late-night food place.... By no means the best Chinese food I've ever had, but such convenient opening hours is always a plus in my books (everything just closes so early in Vancouver).
PROS:
- The broth for their beef noodle is actually quite rich and delicious... and not salty for a change
- Open late!
- Decent prices
- Lots of food variety for any taste
- Quite spacious to accompany larger groups
- Free WiFi and 2 large flat screen TVs that's tuned into your favorite sports channel (you know, for those dates that are just going no way)
CONS:
- Accuracy may not always be their priority. I've had my order messed up more than once. Nothing too serious, the food that came was still good. It might be an issue if you're pickier though.
- Absolutely no parking etiquette here (Yes, white Infinity, I'm talking about you). People will park right behind your car so that you can't get out when you're leaving. I have a sneak in suspicion that some of them are actually employee's of the restaurant, which needless to say, should NEVER occupy patron parking.
- Inconsistency. You may get 4 pieces of beef one time and 8 the next. Portions are almost always smaller when you order for take-out.. maybe due to their take-out containers? Seems strange to let container size dictate how you want to present your product. Eat-in, if you can, and then take it to go.
But seriously, if your business is based on repeat customers (which if you think you aren't, you SHOULD), you need consistent quality, service, etc. People hate expecting something and then getting something else. -- There, a little Business 101, free of charge.
One of the BEST Taiwanese cuisines. I've been to many taiwanese cuisines in the lower mainland, and this one was one of the best ones that i have ever been to. The beef noodle soup was made just right and tasted very authentically Taiwanese. The appetizers were also very traditional and made just right. Will definitely come back here often to try everything on their menu!
Always been a favourite place to go whenever i am in burnaby. Every time i go to Burnaby, and I crave for fusion cafe I'd go to No.1
hm...the beef noodle soup and the tomato noodle soup...
great atmosphere.
Service is fast and steady.
This is the place to try at least once to formulate your own opinion of. There is good value in the food as well as very tasty dishes. The beef brisket is lean and the bowls of noodle plentiful. Service is fast and food piping hot. A place you will come again to.
A restaurant with a name that is pretty self explanatory. This is a well known stop for bubble tea and Taiwanese cuisine in my neighbourhood. And like its name suggests, a good go-to for a deeply satisfying bowl of beef noodle soup. If you can get past the annoyance of a limited parking lot and the congestion it causes, the food is definitely worth your time. Tucked in the corner of a food and convince complex, and often blocked by large trucks; it is easy to miss when driving by. Though on a busy road enroute to Metrotown and adjacent to a large secondary school, it has a lucrative location. Its reputation proceeds it and its popularity has grown by positive word of mouth press. After all who can forget a place we declares any part of their business is being number one. Walking in you feel the warmth of the place in its golden lights and cozy temperature. A note worth appreciating on a cold and rainy day like today. Though despite its medium sized space, things feel a little crowded w
If you want cheap eats with somewhat reliable consistency and that’s all you care about, go for it. If you’re someone that is put off by bad service or doesn’t like eating in loud restaurants, then please stay away. No. 1 Beef Noodle isn’t as good as it used to be but is still a valid option for Taiwanese food.
Just look at those noodles! Meta Knight thought they were delicioussss! It had the perfect texture and the beef brisket pieces were extremely tender.
In our opinion, Accord Food House has better beef noodle than No.1 Beef Noodle House. We are still having a hard time finding a place that serves authentic beef noodle, one that can be compared to the beef noodle we had in Taiwan.
Since M, InsecureGirl, FragileBoy and I wanted to get some Bubble tea and quick snacks… we decided to go to No 1 Beef Noodle House. As usual, we always get the Salt and Peppery Chicken. This time we asked for spicy sauce to go along with it. It makes it 10x better (only if you enjoy spicy). We also noticed we got less Salt and Peppery Chicken compared to the last time we came here. Click here to read our past review.
Nothing hits the spot on cold Vancouver days more than a steaming hot bowl of noodles with beef brisket and rich broth. You can get delicious beef brisket noodle soup at No. 1 Beef Noodle House in Burnaby, they do take out too. Tucked in the corner of a plaza across the street from BCIT, this little noodle house also serves bubble tea and other Taiwanese treats. Strawberry black tea and Sesame Milk Tea with pearls, No. 1 Beef Noodle House, 4741 Willingdon Ave., Burnaby We ordered the strawberry black tea and the sesame milk tea, both with pearls. Both drinks were delicious, the tapioca pearls were at just the right consistency, chewy and bouncy. The deep red strawberry black tea wasn't too sweet, I could definitely taste the slight bitterness from the black tea. It was balanced out by the sweet and tart fruity flavours of the strawberry. Sesame milk tea with pearls, No. 1 Beef N
The Pork Blood with Pork Intestines in Soup (豬血大腸湯) was...weird. Why in the world were the intestines chopped into smaller than usual chunks?
As promised, here is the newest place that I've tried for Taiwanese beef noodle soup: No 1 Beef Noodle House ! On Willingdon south of Moscrop This place is just a few blocks away from our new house, so I was really hoping it would be at least as good as B
Never being there before, someone suggested we go to No. 1 Beef Noodle House, in Burnaby Central, for something fast and easy. They also have a massive bubble tea menu, so I was in!
No. 1 Beef Noodle House is one of the most popular Taiwanese restaurants in Burnaby. So much so, that even at 11:30 in the morning, cars are double and sometimes triple-parked. Throughout the meal you'll see anxious car-owners turn into Meerkats, popping
Deviating from the norm is this vegetable and pork in noodle soup. The soup base is not at all like the beef broth of the regular bowl; instead, it was closer in flavor to a hot and sour soup, except that it wasn’t really all that hot nor was it all that sour. Adding in some vinegar really brought out a better flavor to go along with the sliced pork.
To me, I think it’s one of the more truly authentic Taiwanese Beef Noodle places around in the GVRD. I can’t recommend anything else besides the Beef Noodle, I always get a variation of it when I go [regular, spicy or tomato soup].
There are some places I would like to go (either for the first time or more often) but have not for several reasons. Location (Le Charcuterie?), schedule (Moderne Burger, which closes before 8:00 p.m.), costs (too many to mention) and an empty table/parki
Suanne and I went to a new place for lunch. For those of you familiar with the Willingdon/Moscorp area in Burnaby, you might know of where the Orchid Delight Singaporean restaurant used to be. It seems like Orchid Delight had closed and in it's place is t
