Love the food and the staff, every time we go we enjoy something new usually recommended by our servers and we've never been disappointed! Try the ginger beef, without doubt the best I have ever tasted.
Be warned the shared parking lot is very small and a bit of a nightmare but it's worth the effort! :)
We arrived at 3 thinking it would be quiet but we were wrong, it was packed! Regardless, we were seated within 15 minutes.
The menu is huge and quite overwhelming, and can be confusing but was narrowed down quickly when we were informed that the soups have pork in the broth (I don’t eat pork). So we settled on the popcorn chicken, fried tentacles and red curry popcorn chicken combo that came with rice, seaweed and choy. It was delicious! The bubble tea and desserts were super tempting too so I’ll be back to try that out next time!
I used to eat here every week after church, because it's very near from Willingdon church. The last time I ate was 2014, and now 5 years later the beef noodle still taste the same. Yum! Truly lived up the name, no 1 beef noodle house 😋👍
Almost five years ago, some friends and I had a horrible experience at No. 1 Beef Noodle House. I wrote a pretty scathing review (linked for the lolz) on it and didn’t go back there for about four years. I reluctantly went back a year ago because my dad wanted to try it… and it was a lot better that time.
Finally a Taiwanese restaurant that serves beef noodle soup that doesn't skimp on the beef.
noodles cooked well and broth has good depth
Drinks are just OK
Will have to come back and try the fried chicken and ground pork beef rice next time
And yes there is limited parking, lucky I got a spot as I came early for lunch @ 11am, by 1130 place started filling up
•hole in a wall, located along a busy intersection: Willingdon & Moscrop, not so easy to spot as its at the very corner
• limited parking spots only, accessible by bus so I suggest you carpool
• between 3-5pm daily 1/2 price on drinks, excludes fresh fruit, tofu & desserts
• service is exceptional, patient & efficient servers
• food is amazing!!! Everything that we ordered, I have to rate it at 5/5. I bet the rest are as as good as what we had
• Beef shank noodle soup: the traditional, love the flavours, the noodles & extremely tender shank
• Deep fried basket: yum! The shrimp rolls rock! Chicken nuggets aren’t oily at all
• Drinks: fantabulous!
• I’ll surely be back for more and try other goodies from this awesome place!
I ordered lamb hot pot combo and it came with two side dishes, lamb hotpot and rice. Very good portion for all of the dishes. I was so full after eating there. The service was O.K. , but I waited for 15 minutes for my order, and I think it was because they had a lot of take out order at that time. Everything is OK except the parking. The parking lot is small and crowded. I came in at around 5:10 PM and out at around 6:10 PM. I waited for around 15 minutes to come out of the parking lot because people had to wait for cars to come in and out from opposite direction. Overall I think it is good experience and I will go again, except that maybe I will park in a nearby place or just go at different time when not many people there.
Was craving some beef noodle soup and with a restaurant named after it, it was a clear choice. This restaurant is actually a pretty decent size and we didn't have to wait for a table. Only annoying thing was parking because the lot was so small; we had to find parking elsewhere. Also, this place is cash only so be prepared!
We both ordered the tendon and beef shank noodle soup with thin noodle. I like how they have options for the noodle. The food came out fast. There was a good portion of beef, tendon, and noodle. I kind of didn't like how big the pieces of beef were because it was hard to bite. So if it was cut smaller, it would have been better. But after this bowl of noodles I was full.
Service was pretty good. It wasn't hard to flag down the servers. Food was good and the price is fair for what you get. I'd come back for more of their beef noodle soups.
○good service
○good food/ all dishes that I've tried were very tasty/ good selection of drinks too
○over priced/ alot of options to choose from/ decent portion
○family friendly
○parking is definitely limited
○cash only
○would I go back? Yes
It was very smart of the owner to open a student-friendly restaurant nearby a high school and a college.😛. From its name, one would expect this restaurant to be (primarily) a beef noodle house, but it turned out to be a Taiwanese bubble tea restaurant. In other words, they offer a wide range of entree combos (i.e. choice of protein + rice + side veggies). On paper, the combos are decently priced at $10.25 to $14. Funnily we didn’t order any beef noodles because we found other dishes to be more appetizing (they even advertised them more).
Cash Only
