If your looking for a great BBQ place in Mississauga, look no further. This place had great food, friendly staff and generous portions. On our first visit, we ordered the ribs, pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese for our kids. Although there is no kids menu, the Mac and cheese side dish was more than enough to fill them up. Everything was excellent and the bread pudding was great! Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was phenomenal. I had the deluxe po'boy and it was so yummy. Coleslaw and cornbread were outstanding. Only flaw was there was only 1 waitress and she was serving like 9 tables. We had to wait like 35 minutes for the food but it was well worth the wait
dre @BBQRDs: My cousin was in town, and he wanted to eat non-Asian food, so we brought some RD's home. We wanted to get the Hush Puppies, but they were sold out, so instead we got some Deep Fried Okra. My cousin also ordered a Catfish Po'boy. I ordered a full rack of ribs and wings. There wasn't a choice on different sauces, but we could choose the level of spiciness for the wings

Nelson: Good Southern BBQ is hard to find in Toronto and even harder in the suburbs. RD's remedies this for those on the west side, specifically Brampton. This location has a hole in the wall feeling, but the food is awesome.
We start with the fried okra. It's fried the right amount to make okra tasty, but the batter falls off easily. The dipping sauce is really good and although I'm not sure what's in it, it tastes buttery. It's addictive.
Here are some hush puppies. I usually don't like hush puppies much, but these were pretty good and came out nice and piping hot Once again the sauce made it delicious. .
The fried chicken is a special order and it is amazing. It looks burnt, but it's not at all as the batter colours it this way. The batter has a bit of spice, a bit honey garlic sweetness and of course deep fried to perfection. It's finished with a bit of honey drizzled all over it. The chicken itself is very very juicy while the outside is nicely crisped.
The mac and cheese is generously cheesy as it should be.
Here's a side order of coleslaw. It's more creamy than sour, which is what I like personally.
The gravy is incredible here, buttery and smooth with a great depth of flavour. Plus it has a bit of spiciness to it and a bit of surprising sourness which is actually welcome. They were very addictive and we added some fries to eat dip them in.

Great little spot on a crappy little strip mall.
RD's Southern is a little gem that blends in with all the other crappy looking stores that neighbor around it, but the food itself should set itself apart from the rest. The place is real small with a kitchen that shares a hallway. The people working there are real friendly and helpful. Menu has all the southern favorites and prices aren't bad either.
Smoked wings were great. The wings were coated with this smokey and sticky-sweet sauce. It had a bit of a char on it, which I enjoyed, but there was a bit of a sauce overload which lots of people tend to love. (I'm not really one of those people). The wings were giant, meaty, and surprisingly crisp for sauce-drenched smokey wings.
The beef brisket were nicely sliced pieces of beef. We ordered a beef brisket sandwich without the bread, so we got a bit extra beef brisket. It's roughly half a pound per sandwich which is a nice amount for $7. The brisket was coated again in sauce, but the meat was tender and retained some nice juiciness to it. Most brisket I've had around is pretty dry, but this place did a wonderful job of that...and no, it wasn't the sauce that made it juicy.
The Ribs are the subject of debate for me. Everybody loves baby back ribs, but for real southern ribs, I think they have to be spare ribs. Snobbiness aside, the ribs were done well too. The sauce that coated it was sticky and sweet with a nice little kick as well. Meat fell right off the bone, and not too fatty either.
When I compare it to places like Big Bone BBQ, where the meat is a bit more dry, charred, and smokey, I tend to enjoy those a bit more. RD's does a good job of catering to those who love the saucy BBQ, a la KC City style BBQ. For those who love sauce on sauce with their BBQ, this is the place to go.
My very first review! This was more of an experience than just great food. My first time there and EVERYTHING WAS to die for. I had poboy catfish along with mac n cheese n pulled pork poutine. Couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Thanks guys and I will definitely be coming back again and again.
Delicious Food & Great Service. Had lunch catered for a group of 10. All were pleased and left with sleepy & supremely satisfied smiles.
My best friend recently moved into the neighbourhood and I found this hole in the wall that was absolutely amazing. Delicious food!!!
Ribs were cooked well, the meat was literally falling off the bone. The Mammoth poutine was huge and filled with pulled pork and beef brisket, with cheese curds and gravy.
Only down-side is if they run out of corn bread!!
Service wasn't too bad considering they were really busy.
Atmosphere.. It's a hole in the wall. Nothing special, there's a couple tables but it's a small joint.
Overall, the food was delicious!! I'd definitely recommend and go back!

Sooo good!. This hidden hole in the wall has been on my list for a while now and was thrilled when our original plans fell through and we ended up at RD's. An intence smokey bbq smell hit us the moment we walked in. We ended up with a good selection and were happy with everything. The least of which was just not to my taste. The corn bread was quality but I prefer mine a bit sweeter or with corn kernels and green chiles in it. Not saying it wasn't good because it was quality. The shrimp ettoufe was very shrimpy and good but again not exactly my taste... but I will readily admit to wolfing it down happily. The beef brisket was out of this world with flavour and smokiness. Same with the pork although the pork was juicier then the beef. The sauce was very good and at medium had a very good bite. That sauce was sooo very good. WOW! Mac & Cheese OMG. The picture of good home made fare. My wife is a stickler for her baked beans and these hit the spot for her. If you like a thick baked beans with a solid molasses taste these are for you. I grew up around more or less southern foods, enough to say I am familiar with the most popular off foods. I am excited to try some of the more obscure items such as the okra, dirty rice and I am dieing to try the catfish po-boy. Catfish is one of my back home favs. The service was extremely friendly and sincere. I cannot wait to go back, probably this week for lunch.

Here it is probably because you got here in a bad mood. I consider myself a regular and a bonafide foodie... I am a chef of over 40 years, and have travelled extensivly in USA the home of
BBQ lets give them that credit. I have eaten in a great deal of hotels , bars and restaurants around the US , Canada and Europe... And I can tell you this is amongst the best BBQ in North America.., just came back from Baltimore and had a really good pulled pork sandwich at the best restaurant in Baltimore, it was really good at $11.00
But RDS pulled pork is the best at half the price, yes sometimes the food could be hotter, just let them now and they will
Take care of that in a heart beat. John is an outstanding chef and knows the business very well, I can't believe the quality of food at those prices can not be met.
When I want a great meal at an unbelievable price there's - one place to go .... It is here trust me folks.
FINALLY!!!. This is the spot that every foodie, every fan of bqq and lets face it everyone that has ever watched an episode of diners drive ins and dives has waited for, every item on this menu is fantastic but the reason why were alll here is the PULLED PORK. soooo sooo good. Stop reading and go try this place.

Had the mouth watering spicy fried chicken in buffalo sauce with baked beans and coleslaw. The chicken was moist, not too crunchy and you could taste the seasoning. The beans were well balanced in spices and brought the heat making you want more. The coleslaw was tasty and balanced the heat from the beans. If you’re looking for something on the menu, this is a great option.
I’ve been going to this place for years. The food is great and the owners are friendly and welcoming. If your looking for BBQ this is the pace to check out. I would definitely recommend the Big Daddy Sandwich. You won’t be disappointed.
This was my first time trying out this place, and I am truly impressed. I ordered the beef Mac and cheese and the catfish po boy. The beef on the Mac and cheese was so tender and the bbq sauce was amazing. The Mac and cheese was good as well. I really enjoyed the catfish. It was seasoned well and pretty crispy even though I didn’t eat it right away. Overall a great experience, and I’d eat here again.
Thank you RD for a wonderful meal! I ordered the 6-10 person meal package takeout for my kids birthday party. The owner was very nice. The food was fantastic, everything arrived home piping hot. The meats were juicy, cornbread was moist and individually packed. Portions were very generous compared to other bbq joints in the gta. Would order again.
If you are looking for a Southern BBQ Restaurant with fresh food and amazing service, I highly recommend you come to RD's Southern BBQ! I had a conversation with the nice lady who served me my pickup order and it being one of my first times there she gave me a complimentary drink - RD's Sweet Tea, that is a family recipe, which was so good and I really appreciate.
I got the chicken and shrimp over rice order and the food was steaming hot and fresh. I will definitely be a new regular for this great family owned Restaurant! Great service and amazing food!
We ordered food for our company and it was awesome! The brisket is absolutely amazing, the ribs were smoky and delicious, the pulled pork was fantastic, and the wings were flavorful and juicy. And the sides! The mac and cheese was super cheesy and the beans were amazing. This is my new go-to for BBQ in Brampton
THIS RESTAURANT WAS ACTUALLY VERY DELICIOUS. THE FOOD WAS VERY FLAVOURFUL ESPECIALLY THE HEALTHY SLICE OF CORNBREAD (WHICH WAS NOT OVER SWEETENED). ALSO I LOVED THE PULLED PORK SANDWHICH. IT NORMALLY COMES JUST WITH THE MEAT AND BUN BUT THE SERVER WAS KIND ENOUGH TO SUGGEST TOMATO AND LETTUCE. THE MALE SERVER WAS VERY KIND AND SHOWED TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICES. THE RESTAURANT WAS ALSO CLEAN BUT MORE OF A TAKE OUT PLACE NO SEATS AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES ON THERE GOOGLE PAGE. DEFINETLY WILL BE RETURNING.
