A week without Izzy's bagels is an awful week! I can't wait for the weekends as it is hard with our jobs to get to Izzy's during the week. The bagels and cream cheese are second to none, simply put they are amazing. Every time we introduce someone new to the place they instantly become huge fans. The quality always remains the same, they have perfected the art of making bagels. The staff is great and the owner goes out of his way to ensure you have a great experience. So if your looking for a bagel, cream cheese, or a beautiful breakfast sandwich Izzy's is the place.
Singularly the best bagel I've ever had! I thought it might be a bit of bias on my part at first (I'd just come in from eating the worst breakfast of my life and I was still hungry) but every bite was perfection! These bagels don't taste anything like your typical dense, grocery-packaged bagel. Everything was perfectly cooked, the staff are warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. My only complaint is that this spot isn't on the way to work!

Best kept secret. Being new to Nova Scotia, I stumbled across this place by accident. It's definitely one of my favourite places for breakfast. You can watch the bagels being made fresh on site, and they have a broad menu to chose from.
They also have a variety of different cream cheese fillings that you can order, or even take home if you wish.
Prices are good, and the service is always quick and friendly.
**Edit. This review was originally for the Great Canadian Bagel. They've since closed down and it looks like the staff have moved everything to this new place. Happy to report that the bagels at Izzy's are the same as they were at TGCB.
Great tasting bagels with tons of different options. They also have house-made cream cheese that are so fresh and compliment the bagels nicely. There are also bagel sandwiches and coffee/tea available for those who want a full breakfast. A dozen bagels of any flavour on Wednesday costs only $6.85!!
Two parking spots available right in front of the shopping and more parking available on the side. There are also picnic tables available during the warm days. Definitely a must visit if you’re craving bagels or cream cheese.
The best bagels in HRM easy. Definitely worth the drive wherever in HRM you are. They have tons of different bagels with different cream cheeses. Service was fast and friendly. Store front was clean and tidy. I will definitely be back, and next time I'll try a BLT bagel!
I had ignored the hype about this place. I mean how good can a bagel be? It's just a bagel. Well, I was wrong. I've had bagels in Montreal and New York City and Izzy's Bagels live up to the hype. Crisp up when toasted and still so soft and chewy inside. Homemade cream cheese so soft and spreadable. Sorry for the photo. I took a bite before photo and apparently was way to stingy on my own cream cheese. I was trying to make it last, folks. I was trying to make it last. These bagels are so good they don't even need the cream cheese. But you should buy some anyway, you will be glad you did.
Cream cheese bagel with veggies was so flavorful and filled with all kinds of vegetables! Definitely coming back!
Fresh delicious bagels!!! Let's just say we went in to buy a dozen, ate 4 right outside of the store and decided to go back in and buy another dozen. Lots of varieties in addition to the basic, they also have cheddar herb, cheddar jalapeno, french toast, Swiss roll...etc. My favourite is their chocolate chip one!! I can eat them all day long. Highly recommended!
We pick up a dozen bagels every other week and keep them fresh in the freezer. Real-deal bagels with a nice chewy texture and lots of flavour options. I’m partial to Swiss cheese and the jalapeño bagels. The cream cheese is also top shelf.
If you are in the Halifax area, don't leave without visiting Izzys Bagel Co on the Bedford Highway. Fantastic bagels made on site. They make fresh bagel sandwiches there, my fave is smoked salmon with scallion cream cheese, red onion and capers. Don't wreck it with tomatoes and lettuce!!! And pickup a down bagels to go. They freeze well.

Hadn't been here in a few years and glad I made the trip because the first taste of the sesame and poppy bagels was a quick reminder of the quality and flavor of the bagels made by Izzy's. Plus they make their own great cream cheese also. Deal to consider is the 1/2 DOZ and cream cheese combo it's $8 and change, definitely worth it.
