We thoroughly enjoyed our two days there. The rooms were great and the location was phenomenal, right on Lake Superior. The grounds are clean and safe and our daughter enjoyed exploring and using the recreational facilities. The restaurant was amazing for dinner with a meal that will be long remembered. Lastly, everyone running the resort was incredibly helpful and hard working.

A gem stuck in a time capsule (In a good way!) We stopped here for a dinner with family who have been visiting the area and been to this restaurant over the last 30-40 years. They were able to accommodate reservations for 11 and their service was great. Our waiter was a nice and funny gentleman who was very accommodating. The family enjoyed various dishes and drinks and everyone left talking highly about the food and that they'll be dreaming of the schnitzel. The building is older and from what I was told from the family who had been here when they were children, they said it all was exactly the see from the decor, tables and even the large stein sitting atop the bar. I was the odd one out being a vegetarian but luckily they had a vegetarian platter we saw ahead of arrival which ended up being delicious and filling. When I inquired about the soup of the day which did not have meat as an ingredient, they had the thought and consideration to warn me that they were almost certain its stock was animal bases (beef or chicken?). I'm sure our family will visit the area again in coming years if we camp I. The area and you can count on it that we will come back!

Strongly recommended!!! Lovely resort with spectacular views of Lake Superior and a unique family atmosphere. We've been coming back for years, in the spring and fall, and I can't get enough of this place. I do not believe there is any other destination where you can feel so welcome. It's a very good base for day hikes in one of the provincial parks. The resort provides seasonal park passes to it's clients which is very convenient. The restaurant on the premises serves simply delicious meals, so we always dine in, but some of the rooms have kitchens, so you can prepare your own food. However, I can not resist their delicious breakfast pancakes or the outstanding Austrian cuisine for dinner.

Very quaint little place, amazing food and friendly staff! Separate dinner and breakfast restaurants, no lunch. They have a community propane grill out in the yard area under a gazebo with great views of Lake Superior! Nobody was using it while I was there! Multiple fire pits. Remote controlled ceiling fan & light and an oscillating floor standing fan...great breeze off Lake Superior keeps it cool at night! Satellite TV, clean bathroom and shower. I've never been to Austria but this place sure felt like it! Would definitely stay here again!

Serene location on Lake Superior. The family owners work and cook the tasty meals in their Austrian Restaurant and they warmed up the homemade apple strudel for our breakfast. The lodging is somewhat antiquated but the rooms are OK. The staff are delightful and the food service is superb. Overall it is a very good value and a memorable experience. Hosts were kind and informed about tourist options in the area.

We enjoyed our time in mid-June. There were mosquitoes, but they were not oppressive. We really enjoyed the restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff was awesome. Definitely feels like a family-run business. The hotel rooms were in fine condition , but they have been around awhile. We enjoyed the firepits and the shuffleboard. There is a smaller restaurant/main office that serves breakfast, but we didn't try it. They still use keys for the door locks. 😄

Well first time there, and the food was all homemade and delicious. My only complaint is the fish it had a strong fishy taste and it was breaded. But the deserts we're to die for. Staff were friendly, and the buffet price for 9+5 year old as 8$ each.👍

Excellent food and service at a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view. The menu has a lot of tasty authentic Austrian options. The servers are very friendly and helpful. I recommend booking a reservation as the place fills up!!!
