How delightful to be introduced to a gem of a place, so close to home. Ayr is an easy thirty minute drive from Kitchener. Willibald features a flavourful selection of beers, cocktails, wines, seltzer, vodka, and gin. Although the establishment is called a "Distillery and Brewery", the kitchen serves up gourmet-level food. The, "Willi Burger", rivaled the best burgers I've had, and I've had a few. The fries too were a cut above, a fresh cut above at that. The rest of the experienced diners in our party had very good things to say about the, fresh and locally-sourced Grilled Zucchini, Caesar salad, Roasted Red Pepper and Cheese Dip, and the "Korean BBQ" Chicken Sandwich. This countryside oasis is worth the drive.

Stopped in for lunch and was very impressed. Have loved their beer and gin for some time now, but had never come out for food. Funghi pizza was delicious. The crust was light, airy, crispy, and flaky at the same time and held its shape crust to tip, retaining the same crispiness throughout. Toppings were excellent. The use of pickled red onions and arugula chimichurri made the pizza just that much better. The creamy garlic dipping sauce was wholly unnecessary (the pizza and crust stand on their own), but was very well made and delicious. I found it overpowered the funghi pizza, so enjoyed it just with pieces of the crust. Beer, as always was exceptional, as was their signature gin mule using their barrel aged gin and homemade ginger tea - the perfect balance of ginger spiciness with modest sweetness. Atmosphere was also excellent on the patio. Service was great (thanks Brooke and co.)! 10/10, will return.

Set on a beautiful picturesque farm this distillery and brewery is the perfect spot for a visit. It’s definitely off the beaten path so if you think your heading the wrong way just keep going. The food is super yummy, we loved the pizzas and salad and enjoyed trying the different beers. I even tried their wine which was so good that a took a bottle home. Don’t forget to check out the shop. They distill their own vodka also and those beautiful bottles are a great gift.

A beautiful location in the countryside of Ayr. Food selection was limited for people that have dietary restrictions although we're still able to accommodate a gluten-free meal. The cesear salad was by far one of the best that I have had in recent memory. Drinks were beautifully done and tasted delicious. Surprisingly prices were not overly expensive. #localguides #glutenfree

Beautiful venue and amazing beer! I’ve been to many breweries but this was a special one. Farm setting and snow were so serene. We had all three IPAs and I had the Gingerbread Gin Mule and a charcuterie board to eat. Everything was so good. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back again! 🍺🎄❄️

My wife and I have been planning to have supper here for some time now. Unfortunately the restaurant (Biergarten) is only open weekends and tends to be busy, so that presented a challenge for us. However, this evening we managed to go. As expected, the place was busy when we arrived at 5:30 pm and there was a 30-40 minute wait. Fortunately, the bar is open and you can buy canned & bottled drinks to go and enjoy at picnic tables in a nearby pasture while you wait. Since it was a cool and pleasant evening, this merely added to the sense of relaxation and enjoyment of the whole dining experience. Once seated under the tent for our meal, we just had to start out by trying the Dill Pickle French Fries. These turned out to be by far the best fries we've ever eaten! Not only were they perfectly done (a rare occurrence anywhere in the restaurant world!) but they were nicely salted, flavoured with dill pickle seasoning, and accompanied by a delicious garlic & dill sauce. Our only complaint here was that there wasn't nearly enough sauce for all those fries. Would like to see at least twice as much sauce accompanying this order! For mains, my wife had the Willy Burger with double smash patties. Our standard for burgers is Sam's Grill and my wife said that this burger matched Sam's but just didn't have all the extra condiments on it. I had the Randy Special pizza because it was different in terms of toppings from a normal pizza and especially enjoyed the white sauce, pepperoni, and basil pesto on it! It's only a 9-inch pizza, but was filling enough for me. All in all, a great dining experience. Also took advantage of being there to grab a bottle of their Original Aged Gin. I don't know if it's the fact that it's aged in oak casks or not, but this has got to be the smoothest gin I've ever had! Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting and delicious food. I loved the slushie and the Buffalo chicken burger. Their drinks are always amazing. Big portions of everything and attentive service. The bottle shop on the patio is a nice touch. We got cans of seltzers and beer, and a bottle of pink gin - the designs of the packaging are so cool. We had a great time and can’t wait to be back.
