On Sept 16th we had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful place - fabulous food, excellent service (Josh) and excellent music. I had the pasta special made gluten free style with lobster and my husband had a chicken dish with asiago cheese & sun dried tomatoes which he said was out of this world. We decided to come back for our 32nd wedding anniversary and on Sept 22/16 we had Olivia look after us - I had the gluten free pizza with caramelized onions, bacon, goat cheese, chicken and it was to die for! My husband had the pecan crusted chicken and again he could not say enough... Excellent Service - excellent music and again a wonderful time. Olivia also came to the table with a slice of the best flourless chocolate cake with a sparkler in it for our celebration - what a wonderful touch!! Will definitely be back again.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Very diverse wine selection. Amazing food.. would highly recommend the bella vita... truffled mushroom gourmet pizza... or chicken focaccia... I cant pick a favourite dessert, they are all delicious. I have been here on many different occassions and the service never fails to amaze me. Always excited to see Cavallo at the local market. Definitely the place to be in Ancaster. Cheers.
Disappointed this visit-- 3 of us ordered steak -- all medium-- one arrived medium, one med rare and one well done! Sent back the well done-/ by the time it was replaced everyone else finished dinner.

Went to this restuarant last week, I already wrote a review on a different site but when i saw all the negative reviews on this website I had to write another review to make sure people know that this restaurant is great. Very beautiful atmosphere, great food, inexpensive and awesome music on wednesdays! I hope people will read this review first and disregard the others. I come from out side of ancaster to eat here! ...ordered spaghetti and meatballs. These meatballs were insanely large and perfectly prepared. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The sauce, however, was a bit under-seasoned for my taste, but better under-seasoned than over-seasoned. It’s easier to layer and add flavour to food than to take away.
My daughter works in the area an suggested we meet for lunch, have to say I really enjoyed it there!!! I had a meatball sandwich and roasted red pepper soup and all tasted delish. The establishment itself is very clean and comforting to relax and enjoy your time there, Chance our server was excellent!!!

We went for dinner and being a vegetarian it's very difficult to find good options but wow, the gnocchi was so flavourful and well put together (I hope they keep it for the summer menu). Service was good, atmosphere was lovely as well.
Service, food,drinks and wine selection were very good. Went on week night. Place was close to full captivity. I will go back and recommend it.
Had the Harvest Gnocchi because it seemed like a healthy option. I really enjoyed it!
I would order it again. Apps were terrific. Dessert was delicious.

We had my friends birthday party in the private room and I could not have been more thrilled. The service was kind and attentive, the atmosphere was lively yet quiet enough to have a conversation. The drinks were well made and reasonably priced- although expectedly elevated to a standard drink.
The way they stood apart, in my opinion was the food.
We shared an amazing calamari across the table which was crunchy, chewy and delicious.
I had the chefs special Ossobuco, which was amazing. Tender, juicy and well spiced, I couldn’t have asked for better. The pizza looked amazing.
It was one of those rare experiences where nobody wanted to share or trade plates because we all loved what we ordered so much.
Great for a special occasion, but I may have to return just to have dinner again!
The ambience is nice. The staff who waited on us were very courteous and welcoming. But the choice of food is a bit limited, especially for Vegans/vegetarians. Many of the famous cocktails arent served. Liquor choice as a whole is not wide.
This place was decorated very nicely for valentine's day. The server was very polite, and made sure we had the best experience. She did fabulous changed to the non Vegetarian options. The chocolate 🍰 was very amazing.
