Being a roadside stop we didn’t have high expectations as we walked up to the entrance but we were very pleasantly surprised! The soup and sandwiches (one of which they modified to make it vegetarian) were made with fresh, tasty ingredients and the ice cream for dessert was a hit. We did the beautiful river walk afterwards followed by a stop at the candle/soap/gift shop next door and a visit with the goats. Our daughter loved it! Definitely worth the stop!!!
We pulled onto the service road with our holiday trailer hoping to maybe get some lunch but only ice cream was available. So we made a quick sandwich in the trailer and then got some ice cream for dessert. Two super generous scoops in a regular cone for $5. Excellent deal! Thank you!
Funny names, better ice cream. I guess if you live in a community with the odd name of "Yahk," you develop a sense of humour about weird names. Hence the "Yahk Pizza Shack" and the monickers of some of the ice creams at Two Scoop Steve's. I had a double-dipper of "Beaver Butt" (salted pecans in maple ice cream) and "Salmon Spit" (orange with black liquorice). The guy doing the scooping (his name is NOT Steve?) said those are popular with kids, who enjoy saying "I ate some ______ ice cream."
The adult in me liked the flavours, too. The "Spit" tasted like an orange Good Humour Dreamcicle (if you remember those) with just enough liquorice tang to give it some depth of flavour. The "Butt" was my fave, with big chunks of candied nuts and a salty bite like you get from salted caramel concoctions. The ice cream was as dense and rich as gelato. And not-Steve knows how to pack in that first scoop so it fills the cone and slides to the bottom as you eat, so there's ice cream all the way to the last bite. I'd rate this as a "must-stop" if you're passing through.
A must!. Best ice cream around, and "Steve" (not his real name) is very friendly and happy to help you! We always make sure to visit several times whenever we are in the area.
Great flavours, huge scoops. Super friendly staff. I really wanted to try their bacon waffle cone. Unfortunately, they didn't have it that day. I'm very picky with my waffle cone, but theirs is by far the best I've had. I had the Kahlua chocolate fudge, my sister and my mom had the root beer float flavour.
Beautiful little spot on the side of the highway. Gorgeous home made sandwiches, lots of ice cream choices to help cool you off. A cute walk to the River. Worth the stop.
Awesome little spot right off the highway, not the blueberry cheesecake and the cookies and cream in a churro waffle cone. It was sooo good defs a good spot to stop in. Clean bathrooms are available as well As a full café
This is a cute little place in Yak that you need to visit on the way through or during your stay. We visit it anytime we are in the area. Great ice cream selection and reasonable portions
Slow down to Yahk time and take a break break. Roadside Ice Cream and snacks, it's just what you need to fuel your trip.
The girls who work the till are busy and friendly, they run on Yahk time, just so you know.
They have all kinds of flavours, my favorite is Saskatoon Pie 😋 it can't be beat!
Magical roadside stopover on our way back to CA. Great food and iced coffee. Be sure to check out The magical garden behind the café, and the goats on the roof…..

Two Scoop Steve is a delightful welcome to Canada if you're crossing the border from northern Idaho. Friendly people, great flavor selection, and a lovely short stroll out back to enjoy the view of the river while enjoying your ice cream. It was raining when we visited, and we ate in the cafe area behind the ice cream counter. Just FYI, one scoop proved to be enough for me, but who am I to judge....
Two scoop Steve has fresh food and ice cream portions that guarantees a smile of indulgence. Always worth the drive for an amazing experience
