After living in Woodstock for three years, we finally made it to SixThirtyNine, and they didn't disappoint! The food was outstanding, the service was great, and we were even greeted by the head chef! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a truly special dining experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing! I cannot say enough good things about our dining experience at SixThirtyNine. The atmosphere, the staff, the food - couldn't have been any better during our visit last night. We will return and highly recommend your restaurant to others.
What can I say about this restaurant other than it was one of the most wonderful dining experiences we've ever had. We finally went for my husband's birthday after living in Woodstock for 5 years and our only disappointment was that we didn't try it sooner. All of the food was beyond expectation in presentation and flavour. We were lucky enough to sit at the Chef's table for the tasting menu and had a great time chatting with Chef Eric and his staff during our meal and Zach was a delightful host. His knowledge of the wines was extremely impressive and appreciated. We are looking forward to frequenting this restaurant and trying everything the menu has to offer. Thank you to the entire staff for a truly incredible experience!
We came for dinner with our 15 month old - service was outstanding, recommended wine pairings were excellent and the food absolutely amazing and worth every penny. We also liked the seasonal mostly local food.
Great food. My husband and I treated ourselves to 639 this week. The food and service were excellent (perhaps earlier reviews about service hit the mark).
The restaurant's ambiance is its downfall. It is as romantic as a Harveys. There is no drama, no theme. The decor consists of beige paint and 2 pictures scattered on the walls. Get rid of the tile and warm the space up with hardwood throughout the dining area. Use some of that dramatic red paint from the bathroom in the diningroom and add some sexy chandeliers turned down low. The lighting is far too bright for a special, romantic evening.
A hand painted mural on the back wall would work and do something with the bar. It has no bottles! Or get rid of it and add seating.
I hope this review helps improve this diamond in the rough. I understand the restaurant is popular as it is but I do not think I would take my out-of-town friends there without a warning to wait for the food before making any judgement.
Absolutely Amazing - any negative reviews are outdated!. My husband and I went here for a celbratory dinner upon reccomnedation from several friends. We try new places often and enjoy eating amazing food more than anything. We live in Woodstock and couldnt be happier we finally decided to go (moved here a year ago). The food was good enough to make you cry. We tried the buffallo mozarella, steamed buns, duck and chicken supreme. My goodnes, everything was 10/10. I found the hostess and waitress both pleasent and courteous. I have no idea what any of the negative reviews about staff below are about! Perhaps the problem was fixed. Even chatted with the chef for a moment to thank him for the wonderful meal. I cannot wait to go back time and time again. Impecable job, Woodstock! I will recommend to everyone I know.
This place really improved in the last 9 months. Great quality, small portion, fairly priced, higher end food. Wine list is extremely reasonable. Had a Tawes wine that was no more than 30% marked up from retail. Chef's table is tre cool too. Flavors of each dish/course were very well thought out. Everything seems to be made to order and you can taste it. Good/slowe pace as big $ dinners should be. Comments true about 55+yrs old goat hostest. But rest of waitstaff is young and make up for it. Go there for sure at least once.
