Review Zafferano Ristorante - Woodbridge

We had a great dinner out here this week! Service was fantastic, atmosphere was on point and the food was really great. We got 3 salads and 2 apps and were so impressed with the salads they were super filling, and very tasty and dressed well (important for salads!) We also had 3 pasta's and a pizza and dessert, all which were really great! Will definitely be going back.

We had a great time at Zafferano, the restaurant itself has stunning interior & a great bar! We ordered a couple things from their menu and instantly fell in love with the quality of their food. We got to try the Zafferano pizza, Salmone Alle Griglia, Burratina, & the Linguine Tutto Mare E Monti! We also got to try a couple drinks that were incredible to watch while the bartender crafted them! It’s seriously a great spot to bring your friends and family to - the atmosphere of this place is really nice.

Had a terrible experience here tonight. I had called and made reservations. When we arrived I was told that they cannot accommodate us at the restaurant because of all the private parties and asked us to sit at the tent they had setup in the parking lot. After that everything went downhill. The service was extremely slow. Took over 20 minutes after sitting down to just get a bottle of sparkling water. The wait staff were constantly going back and forth via the parking lot and the restaurant without properly using trays. I am not trying to be picky but I also don’t want to see an already opened bottle of water carried across the parking lot in someone’s hands and then brought to my table. The least you can do is to open the bottle at the table. They also brought us the wrong order that had to be changed. I asked for cheese on my pasta which showed up 15 minutes later after I had almost finished the entree and just to make everything better they brought out a bowl for my wife to throw her seafood shells in after we were already done with our meals. And the food was very disappointing. Both pasta dishes were very watery and the sauce had zero taste. My penne alla vodka dish barely had any pancetta in it. I would definitely not recommend going to this place.

Decor is modern, rustic elements mixed with chic flair. Young, energetic staff. Modern twist to the menu selection so don't expect chicken or veal Parmesan dishes. Arugula salad with goat cheese, sliced peaches and pecans was yummy and good portion size. Penne alla Vodka was a good portion size however could of been elevated with shaved parmigiano cheese - the overall taste seemed to be 'safe'. The Tiramasu was delicious. Ordered a latte and cappuccino however our drinks were forgotten and never received. Veal Marsala my boyfriend enjoyed and said it was tender and found the potatoes the most delicious item of the dish. Would I go again? Perhaps if I was in the area and ordered some other dishes to give this restaurant another chance. Service was fair. Seemed overwhelmed, hurried, with one main waiter in charge of taking all orders in the section of a dozen tables while attempting to oversee minor waiters taking direction to clear tables and drop off plates of food. As a result, there was a disconnect to build a rapport with diners.

Our first time here and everything was amazing, the great customer service, delicious food. Beautiful atmosphere, great wine menu. highly recommend this place.

Although we booked a table we still had to wait 40mins. No drinks were offered during this wait so I bought my own bottle house wine. Food was good and main server is great to rescue his mistake to serve both appetizer and main at the same time. He offered us all a shot. But the other servers were not experienced and spilled a bunch of items on me. Yes on me. No remedy then. When the bill came, they overcharged but quickly fixed the issue. Might need to avoid crazy crowded nights in the future.

All four of us loved our meals, very tasty & the menu had lots of choices. We all agreed we would go back. The only downfall was the noise level but it was a very busy place (the good ones usually are). One guest had the special (pictured) & loved it

I came here with my sister and we ordered the penne al la vodka and the seafood linguine. Food was good. Service was terrible (our waiter was a bald man with glasses). No one had come to check on our table, to fill water or bring bread. I had to flag someone down every time. I had placed a takeout order at the same time of ordering our meal and it was not made to order until after I paid the bill and was ready to go. I don’t think this restaurant is POC friendly.

If you’re thinking of throwing a party here please read..Food was good but overall experience wasn’t pleasant at all.. threw a party here, organized it a month ahead with the manager.. was told dividers could be used to give us some privacy (from manager and owner) because it was a surprise party (then told the day of as I walked in that this was never said but I confirmed multiple times) wasn’t accommodated on seating.. (was told prior from a worker on the phone we could do one table) there shouldn’t of been an issue for less than 20 people. Billing was talked about prior (2 family bills together and a couple friends bills separately) and I was told at the event after everyone started ordering drinks we couldn’t do separate bills so I had to cover all the first drinks myself (we ended up doing separate bills for food) but the hassle and last min changes aren’t needed when someone’s planning a party. Had to move tables for custom cake and cookies.. Manager seemed unpleasant and pissed off about us being there in general so the very beginning of the party process was very awkward..$200 cake was taken to the back I thought to be lit up and brought out to sing first but no.. it was cut without my knowledge..And brought out!!!! All the guests were shocked.. so I didn’t even get a photo or video of the birthday boy with his cake in front of him. Only pleasant worker was ONE WAITER with a ponytail he took time to apologize for everything!

I've been here several times . Staff is very friendly. The Risottos are a very good selection I recommend that. And the creme brûlée by far the best I've tried in town.

The food is good but not any better than any other premium Italian restaurant. And premium it is. Five of us ate for $400 with drinks and tip. Somewhat steep which would be okay if the meal was spectacular. That it wasn't.

We went there on Mother's Day. We were a party of 10. The food and service were disappointing. Our server was obviously busy, however his demeanor was slightly on the rude side. We waited over an hour for the main course. The seafood linguini and the zuppa de peshe both lacked in flavor. I think we will try the place again on a regular night as the food and service will probably be better.

Great Place!. Though it may be a bit pricey, the food is to die for and the waiter (male) is very friendly.

Zafferano's is a great restaurant with amazing food accompanied with a nice atmosphere. I came here with a group of 11 for my boyfriend's birthday and everyone was happy with their food. Their pasta dishes were absolutely to die for. I personally tried Rigatoni Peperonata, Gnocchi Mar Rosso (beet gnocchi, when I read about this I had second thoughts, but after I talked to the server about it I decided to give it a try, and boy I'm glad I did. It's a regular potato based gnocchi with a hint of beet flavour that adds this extra something else) and Fettuccine al tartufo (the hint of black truffle was divine). In terms of the dessert, the Tiramisu was alright (a little too much espresso and liquidy for my taste) but the Skor cake was a definite winner. I will definitely come back to this place and on the PLUS side, they take reservations on Saturday nights!

Last Time. My wife and I have been going to Zafferano for over 7 years, and have always enjoyed our visit. The last year the service has really begun slipping, nonetheless, we continued to go, until today. This will be our last time we walk through their door. We were extremely disappointed this evening, from the moment we walked through the door. There were two staff standing at the bar, one was the owner, and none of the even turned around to acknowledged us. When we were finally seated, the waiter asked what we wanted. We ordered wine and appetizers only, as we were not all that hungry. The waiter was shocked and said "that's all" with attitude. The runner brought our food out, and the waited didn't even come by once to see if things were OK. It was a slow night, we were one of four tables. The food was always great, but the service is just terrible. Last time.

Their pizza was unbelievable! Very authentic!
It's a shame I don't live nearby, I'm in love!

A Place suitable for a special occasion, special date or client! High end atmosphere, service and food. Check the photos I posted. Not a lot of good places in Woodbridge, they seem to all be in strip malls.

This is BY FAR my favourite Italian restaurant in Vaughan!!! I have been to several..and being Italian you can say that my expectations are quite high!! At Zafferano I am always thrilled with whatever dish I order..and might I add the selection of starters..salads...pasta..pizza..fish..meat..and dessert is plentiful! (My last visit I had the carrot cheesecake for dessert, it was out of this world fantastic!) If you want an authentic Italian meal, you MUST come here! The waiters are so helpful and the chef is always willing to accommodate people with special dietary needs, the best he can without ruining the dish. Of course if you just show up, it can be a bit of a wait because it is a super popular restaurant. Make reservations and even when you do, still arrive a bit earlier just because they get so busy...but that is a good thing!!! It shows you how fantastic this restaurant is and how people like me keep on going back for more and more and more! No one that I have recommended this restaurant to has EVER been disappointed so it's about time I leave my review here. I'm going this Friday and I can't wait!!! :)

Service was slow. It took 2 hours to receive our food although it was OK, I was thoroughly informed by staff and the management that is was fine and that the problem was that we did not order h'orderves which did not allow the kitchen staff sufficient time to prepare our meal's. The only saving grace of this restaurant was that the food was decent and the portions were excellent.

But other than that the food was slow and we did not even receive one apology for the tardiness of our meal but was fed endless accuses for the reason that of our meal was so late. If you have no other plans for your evening other than eating this restaurant could prove satisfactory, but if you plan on following up dinner with any other event I would advise you to dine else where.

Good atmosphere, food is delicious and reasonably priced, staff was friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent Atmosphere. Attentive staff, reasonable pricing, quality meal for not a lot of money. Bruschetta had just the right amount of olive oil and diced tomatoes. Delicious. The seared Trout was absolutely divine. Very tasty & filling. Cooked to perfection.

Moulton dessert was heavenly. Heated enough to melt the chocolate, cool enough to savor the flavor.

It's not very often I enjoy a meal in Woodbridge. This one certainly did.

Amazing Food. This is the best Italian restaurant in town by far. The portions are generous and the pasta is always fresh. Our favourite dish is their grilled clamari. The calamari is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Any pasta dish we ordered was always good and we tried most of the dishes on the menu. We also indulged in the fish special many times and were never disappointed. I love eating here.

There is no other restaurant in Woodbridge that is as fantastic as Zafferano. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, the service, the food, and the atmosphere is nothing shy of top notch. Our weekly dinners usually consist of going to Zafferano one to two times a week simply because it's great! It's just like eating at Nonnas house every week and it's just around the corner. Lastly, we can't forget the staff; no other restaurant that I've been to greets their staff with a warm welcome as do the ones at Zafferano. Mike, Donaldo, Gianpaol, and all the others are fantastic and make each and every visit spectacular! So if you have yet to visit Zafferano...what are you waiting for? You'll end up being just as frequent as me.

Food and Service. 3 times at this restaurant.
The last time it took 2 1/2 hours for lunch.
Food was bland
Service less than desirable.
Each time it gets worse. $340 for 5 people with 2 bottles of wine. And we received a free after lunch cocktail to help digest it all.

This proprietor open a second location in Woodbridge.

Good luck to you. You wont see another dollar from me again. Especially at these prices. I'm tired of places like this taking advantage of people.
Rob

FINE WINE AND GREAT DINE. FREE PARKING! Great start. Waiters were great; made us feel at home. First time there and Donaldo made a suggestion on the food and wine. We had lamb and pasta along with a bottle of Brunelli Ripasso; fantastic wine. Prices were reasonable and portions fair and plenty.
Can't wait to go back.

J.T., Maple

Zafferano’s is a popular Italian Restaurant located on Weston Road in between Langstaff and Rutherford. Zafferano serves up quality Italian Cuisine in a chic and stylish environment. They have some of the best pasta and risotto dishes in town. Also, they serve up a nice pizza as well, with some unique combinations. But where Zafferano really shines is their main course dishes. Pizza and pastas are nice Primi dishes, but you really need to dive into the Secondi to true enjoy the Zafferano experience. They have a host of Meat Entrees and of course, classic Italian Fish entrees. They have Spigola, Chilean Sea Bass, Halibut, Salmon, Gamberi(Shrimp) dishes and assorted mixed seafood platters that can make all the fish lovers happy. And of course there is a fine selection of red and white wines to pair your excellent entrees with. So come on down to Zafferano’s and enjoy! Bon Apetito!
