I've been here several times . Staff is very friendly. The Risottos are a very good selection I recommend that. And the creme brûlée by far the best I've tried in town.
The food is good but not any better than any other premium Italian restaurant. And premium it is. Five of us ate for $400 with drinks and tip. Somewhat steep which would be okay if the meal was spectacular. That it wasn't.
Zafferano's is a great restaurant with amazing food accompanied with a nice atmosphere. I came here with a group of 11 for my boyfriend's birthday and everyone was happy with their food. Their pasta dishes were absolutely to die for. I personally tried Rigatoni Peperonata, Gnocchi Mar Rosso (beet gnocchi, when I read about this I had second thoughts, but after I talked to the server about it I decided to give it a try, and boy I'm glad I did. It's a regular potato based gnocchi with a hint of beet flavour that adds this extra something else) and Fettuccine al tartufo (the hint of black truffle was divine). In terms of the dessert, the Tiramisu was alright (a little too much espresso and liquidy for my taste) but the Skor cake was a definite winner. I will definitely come back to this place and on the PLUS side, they take reservations on Saturday nights!
