We eat here at least twice a month. If your not sure what to order try - chicken pakoda, chana marsala, shrimp korma and butter chicken. The owner knows our order by heart and it's excellent every time! The owner is also very friendly as he talks to everyone in his restaurant. There is a buffet, but we enjoy our usual choices off the menu. I love their food!!

I love going here for the buffet. So yummy, good spice level and great naan. My favourite is when they have vegetable korma on the buffet. It's so good here. As a vegetarian buffets are sometimes hit or miss but this one wins for sure.
Wow, very pleasantly surprised by the lunch buffet! Delicious food with wonderful flavours and plenty of selection. The decor is nothing special, in fact even quite poor, but the food and service were great. Pretty good value for you money as well, with the lunch buffet being $12 and I can't imagine anyone not leaving full. My favourites are the usual items, the butter chicken with basmati rice, the chana masala, and of course the naan bread. These were all excellent, can't wait to go back.
Feb 2017 - they've updated the decor which is after improvement and the lunch buffet is still pretty good
Want to have cheap indian food and also good this is the place to go in keewatin area north . Not great woth they interior and how the place look but food is good. Management changed which made it better
Buffet is AMAZING. Food on par with with the Punjabi food in Surrey, BC! (Lol)
I really like this place but for some reason every time I've been here except for one time the Samosas are absent.
It's like Pizza Hut not having pizza. It's like Burger King not having burgers. It's in the name and they neeeever have it. Good food though.
Excellent Indian buffet for $12! You really can't go wrong here if you love Indian buffets and don't want to pay ivory prices. The buffet has about 15 items, mostly the usuals but also a few rarer dishes. Food is generally very flavourful and tasty, nothing tastes mass produced for the buffet. Their sections for desserts to take home, extra $$, are awesome at $7 a pound. Def grab a few of these unique desserts to try.
Best in Winnipeg!. Easily the best Indian in Winnipeg for both taste and cost. Ordering can be difficult because of language barriers, so stick to the buffet. Naan is included in buffet price which is wonderful, I think the dinner buffet was 12 bucks - truly a steal!
Great food, so-so atmosphere. I've been to Samosa twice now and by far it is my favorite place for Indian food. There's a great selection of curry and it tastes fantastic.
The only negative comment would be when me and my friends entered the restaurant, there were several people sitting at a table (I believe the family/friends that own it?) Throughout our entire dinner they just stared at us, making us feel uncomfortable. When it came to paying, the man did not know how much tax to charge (and clearly made up some number).
However, the food is great and I would go back again.
Surprising find!. Samosa Crown Sweets and Restaurant was a surprising find in the north end. The buffet was good, with about the same variety of dishes as Ivory (more than Charisma!) for a fraction of the price ($12.99 for dinner!!). The buffet included naan, which was prepared hot and fresh.
The vegetable dishes were great, and the butter chicken was good too. I didn't really care for the goat curry, as it was heavy on the bones. Everything else was good.
I was a little disappointed by the atmosphere and service. At some point during the evening, some loud/crude rap came on, and stayed on for 4-5 minutes. Eventually it was shut off. My thoughts are, if traditional music is not available, play something light and nice.
My only other criticism was that when I tried to order fudge/sweets, while the (waitress?) acknowledged me, she wasn't very helpful in identifying the differences from one to the next. Not to mention she charged me $1 per piece and it lacked flavour... Then again, maybe this is why fudge is included in some more expensive buffets in the city.
I think I would give this place a 7.5 out of 10.
