The food was so good, stuffed eggplant Delicious. The pineapple chicken curry bowl yummy! the staff was friendly really liked the place. going back for lunch.. not that you care but i need to use 140 characters or it wont accept my reveiw. long story short YUM
Can't say anything about the meat options but kimchi fries are served in huge portions and can easily feed up to four people. Tofu sub is probably the best I've ever had within Winnipeg. Friendly staff and cute patio. They have shorter "winter hours" which kind of continue into the spring so unfortunately I usually cannot get home from school in time but if you make it in time, absolutely try the kimchi fries.
I ordered the pork hash sisig and the massaman curry. Portions were huge and the taste was amazing. Probably the best sisig in winnipeg. Highly recommend trying this place.
Location was interesting and once you walk inside the subtle green/ninja theme was quite refreshing, including the framed ninja star drawings on the walls and the cool hanging ninja faces... anyhow, I had to try the pad Thai because I enjoy doing the comparison thingy and standard dishes. I was quite happy as the noodles were juicy and full of flavour. Not dried out and pasty as I have encountered in some other places. I had a medium heat and they nailed it. The flavour was a little strong once I got to the bottom of the dish. Also tried the kimchi fries and thy were quite good. Prices were totally reasonable and would bring me back lauded with the quality and customer service. Give them a try, I did, and I'll be back!!!
I was skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised! The food came out quick and tasted great! The desserts and pastries are to die for!
I often crave their kimchi fries with pulled porn and that shinobi burger is crazy. The basil in the patty... the teriyaki... So good. I would recommend trying those two items out first and going from there. :D
First time at the Green Ninja and it was an experience. Upon recommendation, I had the kim chi fries with my Green Ninja burger. I also tried some dim sum dishes as well. The shrimp dumplings were a little soggy but no worries. The steamed pork bun was HUGE but there was way more bun than pork. The pork was tasty, I just wished there was more of it. The burger itself was amazing! The sweetness of the pork in the burger was a nice compliment to the tartness of the kim chi fries with its pulled pork, spicy mayo and green onions. The staff was helpful and courteous and made us feel right at home. For dessert, I tried each flavour of the cake balls. Nothing out of the ordinary but the price was a little high. But please, do not let that hinder you from going down to the Green Ninja and trying it for yourself! I highly recommend it, and I look forward to the next time I drop in to try something new from their extensive menu!
Ordered food through Skip the Dishes. Their Chowmein was very tasty compared to the chowmeins we had in Winnipeg. I love how accomodating they are (because we want the soft noodles and not the crispy ones). I also ordered their sisig, which was alright for me. If you want -a variety of asian food in one restaurant, this place is a go-to!
This is truly a hidden gem in Winnipeg. The atmosphere is bright and fun, the service is quite good, and the food is also very good. The beef in our beef and broccoli was a little tough, but the pad Thai was delicious and the pork buns were absolutely outstanding. I will definitely be back.
I've been here a few times and I always get the spicy tofu bahn mi with pulled pork kimchi fries. I'm not a big fan of tofu but this is something to try out. I've also tried the pad Thai but it's nothing special compared to other places. Overall I would come back for the spicy tofu bahn mi since I haven't came across any place that does it.
I love this place! The staff is amazing and super friendly. I love the atmosphere and the complimentary soup while you wait for your meal. My favorite dish is the beef and broccoli w/ rice! Not soggy, cooked well and oh so tasty! Add in their flavored iced tea and a cupcake for desert and you won't be disappointed!
Loved this place! Super friendly and accommodating staff. Went with a group for lunch and everyone's food was delicious and large portions. I had the shrimp crispy noodle bowl and it was flavorful and great for a chilly day. Bakery items are fabulous--great prices and delicious. Will definitely be back!
Cupcakes and Macarons. Jolly rancher and caramel macarons were great! On par with what a macaron should be. Both cupcakes were also very tasty
Pretty good food for the price. Been at Green Ninja once to buy cupcakes (I suggest the Salted Caramel Cupcake...really yummy). second time, I ordered fish and chips with kimchi fries to substitute the original fries; it exceeded my expectations.. fish was crunchy and freshly made but at the same time lacking a bit of flavour. Third time, I ordered beef and broccoli on java rice. I would say its a mediocre dish.. sweet/savoury dish. Only thing,l is that their bubble tea really needs some improvement. But other than that, I give this a 3.95/5 :)
Wonderful!. My 7 girlfriends and I made a reservation earlier this week for a nice get together and we absolutely loved it! When we arrived the table was already nicely set up which was great. We were all greeted and served by the blonde waitress who kept us laughing and having fun throughout diner. She helped us understand the menu better which was very useful as a lot of this was new to us. We all enjoyed our food and bubble tea. Great food and excellent service made for a Lovely evening. We will be back to enjoy the patio soon!
Awesome place!. Went for lunch with some coworkers and we all loved the food we ordered. My Gluten-free coworker had the curry and said it was amazing, she also cannot stop raving about the macarons. The kimchi fries are so unique and delicious, definitely a must try! I have been looking all over for a tasty Bahn Mi and the spicy tofu one here does not disappoint. I would definitely recommend this place. The restaurant is bright, clean, and cheery. The staff is so friendly.
Food was delicious and Bakery was even better!!! would return. Had the shinobi burger with side of Kimchi fries and wow was it amazing! will definatley return!! great service and sweets were delicious.
I went to eat there with my family yesterday and the food was amazing! We really enjoyed their burger and their bread's really good and fresh too! We did not only like the food, but also the service and the price! Definitely going again with my friends this weekend!
Great tasting food at affordable prices!!
Came across this restaurant while driving by Mcphillips St. and was curious To try it out....
fresh, trendy feel as soon as you walk in, staff were very friendly and the dessert variety displayed in the open make your decision on what to get that much harder.....we ended up with the kimchi fries and green ninja burger and ended off with a savoury taro cupcake....all of which were very good and I highly recommend!!!
a trendy snack house at affordable prices is definitely what this part of the city needed!! Will definitely be coming back!!!
IN LOVE WITH THEIR DESSERTS! :D. I loved their Ube Macapuno Cake!!! It was so smooth and creamy and the icing tasted delicious! The pulled pork kimchi fries were on point, it tasted like the innards of a shopao(?) and kimchi, the mix was delicious. I love that they use real potatoes that they crisped just right (yes I got regular and kimchi pulled pork fries but I was sharing everything with my boyfriend). I wanted to go back for more but I was so full I couldn't handle any more food. The Massaman Chicken Curry was also surprisingly good, there was just enough rice, it wasn't too salty, it wasn't too spicy and there was plenty of flavour . Saving the Cookies & Cream cupcake for later but I'm sure it'll taste fantastic :).
I ordered the Green Ninja Burger which I thought was only okay, I was expecting much more from it because it was named after the restaurant. It tasted a little sour and I think it was due to the carrots and what I think was sour kraut(?) that was mixed in. Overall, the burger for me was about a 6 out of 10.
All in all, the restaurant looked cute and the staff were very friendly and enjoyable. They were still getting a few things down but I thought it was still good :). I will be returning for more! I was just wondering if this place is peanut friendly? I forgot to ask. I give it definitely an 8.5 out of 10.
Love the idea of this place! I tried the Panang curry dish and kimchi fries and loved it! Contrary to the other reviews, I actually like the idea of the to go boxes. Seems more modern. I also loooove the bakery! The red velvet and tarot cupcakes are a must try! Also, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Thumbs up!
Amazing food !!! Green ninja burger /kimchi pulled pork friez are the best, service is good and fast, will definatley return.
Off to a good start. My father and I have twice visited this new eatery and bakery on the corner of McPhillips and Pacific since they opened. The space is light and cheery and modern. Owner Sara is adorable and eager to please and although she is Filipino, the menu is pan-Asian including Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese. Green Ninja also carries baked goods, some of which is Filipino. My first visit, the server recommended the pad Thai and it was pretty good and my dad's burger with home cut fries was outstanding and ridiculously affordable at $7.50. We returned a couple days later with my brother and all of us had burgers...my brother said the fries give some of the best fries in the city a run for the money and I'd have to agree. Some drawbacks are the Asian dishes are served in takeout containers and there's no silverware even when dining in, but I'm confident Sara and her staff will quickly work out any glitches. The baked goods all look really yummy and the sampled cupcakes and cookies were tasty (although not entirely distinctive). The best part of the restaurant looks to be the unused huge patio which will likely be popular once it gets furnished and the weather improves.
First time & loved it.. This restaurant always catches my eye as I pass by it because it's green and I love the name of the restaurant ^_^. Yesterday to my surprise, it was OPEN. I have been waiting for awhile now to know what kind of restaurant the food would serve since it said it was a eatery and bakery.. but the title to me sounded like it would be somewhat of an asian food restaurant. It is, but with a twist ;) You have to try this delight! It'll be worth your trip and it's always good to try something new :) I went there with some friends last night and it was wonderful. It's definitely made it on my list of fav restaurants! This will be a go to place now since it's restaurant decor also brings a comforting feeling to its customers. I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone who's daring to try something new and I'm sure you'll love something about this restaurant whether it be the main dishes, the baked goods or the feel of the place because all in all this restaurant is very lovable :) The staff is also awesome, the owner is very welcoming and they're all friendly so you don't have to worry about feeling un-welcomed in there! The dishes that I tried were very flavorful and it's just so un-explainable (in a good way) that you would have to try them yourself! So give it a try, Green Ninja is the place to be!
