Went here on a whim for the all-you-can-eat lunch without checking the reviews. There was only one server, she was friendly and attentive. The sushi rolls were great. Rice was not mushy or over cooked and the fish was fresh.
Not sure what all the hate in the reviews is all about but our experience was fine. Not surprisingly, we went to with the 16.99 all you can eat option at lunch time (which actually extends to 330, even on Saturdays). Mr. Hitter loves his sushi and Mrs. Hitter only likes to have on the odd occasion. There were plenty of options aside from sushi rolls and we had several items including rolls, tempuras, appetizers and sushi "pizza" (which sadly there was only one variety of). We are by no means sushi connoisseurs but everything tasted fresh and good. We wouldn't say it was amazing but it was definitely good and also good value for what we paid. Service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant was quite busy especially for an off-time to go so they must be doing something right! We would return.
Not going to lie, I haven't been posting much lately because I have been sitting in my room hermitting. This Summer has been hectic and with everyone going back and forth for vacation and whatnot, I haven't really had a chance to see my friends. There's this understanding between us that we don't need to see each other all the time to maintain this friendship, but really it's because we're either too jetlagged to leave the house or we'd simply rather be in pajamas. #lazy
I’ve started trying to work my way through River Heights on my Zomato profile. My goal is one day to be an expert in every Winnipeg neighbourhood (vanity, I know). It’s a slower process then I hoped, but with visits to my mom and occasional stops at CMU, I’m getting there. I visited Freshii recently, and have also managed to make a couple of stops at BIMI Korean-Japanese restaurant in the same mall.
Very good!. Love BIMI! Very good service and nice cozy restaurant. They have a button on the side of the table for quick customer service. The sushi is okay but I usually go to BIMI for their Korean dishes. Their korean dishes come with side dishes (kimchi, pickled radish, ). Their kimchi is really good! My top dishes have to be their gamjatang, bibimbap, and their lunch sets which are huge! I found their bulgogi interesting because it's served with glass noodles and broth.. (Im used to bulgogi on a sizzling plate and less saucey). Nevertheless i still really liked it!
Good Korean food. If you like Korean food you should check this place out. We were pleasantly surprised by the free accoutrements that preceded the meal which included a bowl of kimchi, some cubed radishes and tempura yams. For the main course I had a delicious spicy pork belly dish called Jay Yook. The decor was very pleasant, lots of traditional Japanese and Korean decorations, and cute pictures of Korean pop stars on the walls. I enjoyed my first experience at Bimi and look forward to going back to try more.
Service was good and the Korean food was great!!!! Highly recommended.
Best All You Can Eat in Winnipeg. My wife and myself have gone to Bimi probably 100 times at this point. We owe them this review. The all you can eat menu is a steal. So many choices of amazing fresh sashimi and appetizers. This place is the real deal for 65$ + tip, 2 can eat as much amazing sushi as you would want. Whenever we want sushi we go to Bimi now.
If your a fan of tuna you need to try the tuna tataki or for something different try the seafood motoyaki.
thank you Bimi
A tad overpriced but mexi roll is really great!!!!!
This place has the greatest Korean dishes. If you r craving for good Korean food and Japanese sushi, highly recommend BIMI.
Check the dates of these reviews!. Went on a date here on a whim, without reading reviews first (only to realize later on how old most of them are). In any case, We went on a Remembrance day for lunch, and it was basically just us in the restaurant. We decided to do the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) lunch, and were surprisingly pleased with everything. My date and I found the food delicious. The food came quickly, and they did not skimp on the portions like most all you can eat sushi places. Also the price was fair, it's about the same price at most AYCE sushi places for lunch anyway, so that wasn't a big deal. Our server was nice, the decor is busy but very "home-y". Our server also said they've been opened for 10 years. Maybe we came on a good day, but we really enjoyed everything and will probably be going back.
Bimi Restaurant is Best Korean restaurant in Winnipeg!! (honestly I'm Korean). All the foods taste is great especially, kimchi is super super awesome! :) I tried sushi as well because of my other friend who's not Korean. It was good, but I know there are tons of sushi rest. in WPG. so I eat Korean food in Bimi most of the time. Also, the waitress, owner, and all other people who work there, so nice and kind.
Not the best sushi in Winnipeg, but if you go on half-price Mon & Tue, the price can't be beat. I've been countless times and I always enjoy it.
A great little Sushi Spot!. My friend and I always try to make to BIMI once or twice a month for 50% off Sushi and Sashimi. The food is good, the price is right, and we always have a great time.
The last time we were there was one of our best experiences, we had a very friendly server, the food arrived pretty quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious!
The 1/2 of deal is every monday and tuesday night! Try it out!
Delicious!!! I went bimi c.... Delicious!!!
I went bimi couple days ago. There were July special that Lion king roll and Edamame beans. It was so good and nice price. Also, my friend tried the bulgigi - korean beef hot pot(?) anyways it's awesome:). Buy the way, Bimi's teriyaki chicken roll is one of my favorite one ( I just want to mention follow the previous review). The server, she's nice!
Tasty!!. I've eaten here twice before and enjoyed the experience both times. Because my last visit was over a year ago, I decided to check reviews on AYCE places before heading out the other night. It was with some trepidation that I returned to BIMI given the reviews it had received. Boy, was I glad I decided to return based on my past experience. What a great evening! I have absolutely nothing to complain about except that I wish I could have eaten more. :-)
The fish was very fresh, particularly the tuna which practically melted in my mouth. The presentation was creative and visually appealing and the service prompt, courteous and efficient. We didn't need to ask for extra water- hot or cold- for it always seemed to appear at just the right moment. While I could go on and on about all of the delightful dishes, it really isn't necessary. If I had to mention a favorite appetizer, it is the tuna avocado salad. Basically a tuna sashimi with cubed avocado in a succulent sesame dressing.
Fresh, Fun, and Priced Right. Looking forward to going again, really, really soon.
I always like going to Bimi. My wife and I go to Bimi regularly and always like the food. It is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Winnipeg. The Bakudan roll is my favorite anywhere. We usually go on Mondays or Tuesdays when the food is half price, making it an especially good deal. We have been to Bimi many times and the service has always been good.
LOVE IT. Their sushi is good as well, but I highly recommend to have some Korean food here. After changing the ownership of this restaurant, they've been putting up some amazing Korean cuisine. My family and I go here all the time, and the food has always been awesome. I love their radish kimchee especially. Its a side dish you get if you order Sulnongtang (Beef broth soup), and I can say it's the best kimchee that I ever had.
Their Korean food is really authentic; meaning they use a lot of garlic and ginger flavor to their dishes. So if you are the authentic korean food lover, go and eat there because you'll love it.
