Wife and I got home late last night and weren't in the mood to cook dinner. As a result, we wanted something in the south end of the city to eat quick before running some errands afterwards.
My wife suggested Ume Yummy as she was craving a bowl of noodles. I myself wanted to go for Vietnamese Pho, but caved and agreed to try this place out. I'm actually quite glad I did! The restaurant is small, but the service was quick. The menu is exceptionally simple if you're here for the noodles. Basically, pick a soup, pick a noodle and two sides to go in the noodles. I got a Sichuan flavored ramen and my wife got a chicken broth flavoured rice vermicelli. We also got a side dish of sliced pig ears!
Both noodles were flavourful and the amount was very generous. Considering the bowl of noodles was $8.95, it is a real bargain. I would definitely come back just to eat noodles!
The menu has other main dishes, like curry rice dishes and various other stir fries. If I find myself here again not feeling like noodles I would definitely give those a try.
I read a lot of reviews of this place, which are unnecessarily harsh.
The noodle soup combo is very nice and filling with a spicy soup base, and comes with many ingredients in the broth. The side dishes that you can order are also very yummy and good for the price.
I can't understand how people complain about the prices of this place when it is much cheaper than Kazoku Restaurant right beside it. This place has a very heavy Chinese/Hong Kong vibe though.
This place was recommended to me by a friend, I have probably driven past this place a million times and never noticed it. The staff were friendly. We got tea as soon as we were seated. I had the noodle soup bowl and it was very tasty and the portion was good for the price. I would definitely go back for another bowl of soup!
