First time, not the last. Dinner party with 7 people tonight. we all picked a dish then we ordered fried rice and cantonese chow main. absolutely awesome almond shrimp, lemon chicken, dry veal, bbq pork and veggies. also had beef and greens and spicy shrimp. everything was fresh, hot and fast. excellent food and service. will definitely go back. yummy
One of the best in the city. I've enjoyed just about everything I've tried here. The lemon chicken sauce is wonderful and it's not acid yellow like most other places. Almond shrimp are sweet and perfectly cooked.

Try the BBQ Pork Noodle soup (HUGE portion -- I generally get a half order) or the ginger beef -- you won't be disappointed!

Two people,one child,sixty bucks..I realize the place might have a little stigma,but wow..the food is good,it's cheap ,and it's been a staple if northern chinese for twenty plus years...get out there and discover your city,people

I've been eating at Sumhay for about 20 years now :). It is hands down the best northern Chinese food I have ever had. The hot and sour soup is amazing , the almond shrimp is like dessert. The family that owns it treat us like family.

Been to sumhay dozens of times. I usually get #6 BBQ pork soup. Stinking awesome! Other good dishes include lemon chicken,scallops & Chinese mushrooms,and almond chicken. Quick service. Good broth in the soup. Enough broccoli in the soup to fill your weeks quota of greens. Please try this dive it's close to my food heart. Peace in the middle east.
