Went here for lunch with a friend. Ordered Ming court fried rice, Szechuan chicken and Singapore noodles. Everything was really good! The portions were large we couldn't finish and had to bring some food home. You have a choice on the level of spice you'd like. The service was really friendly and they had offered complimentary soup and had a lot of lunch specials available.

Good portions of food and decent pricing! The taste reminds me of home food, y'know? I went with my family. The entrance to the restaurant is a bit odd, but the interior is classy, yet oriental. They also have a bar area in a separate room, but we did not enter there. Overall, a good experience, I would go again!

Surprisingly Good Lunch. My co-workers and I went for lunch here today and we were very impressed with the food and the service. I had the lunch special of sweet & sour chicken balls with rice and vegetables. The portion was perfect for lunch. We will definitely go back there again.

Try the dry spicy ginger beef!. We finally decided to try Ming Court after years of living and working Downtown.

We ordered pick up and the food was pretty good, the dry spicy ginger beef was awesome! The only complaint we had was with the lemon chicken, the chicken seemed a little off but other than that it was a good meal and well worth what we paid, and the reusable shopping bag they packed take-out was a nice touch.

The restaurant prepared a very good meal for us tonight. We had take out and were very happy with the portions and found the food to be fresh and tender. We liked the pan fried dumplings which were very good, the honey garlic ribs which tender and tasty, the lamb stew curry which had a great taste, and the diced chicken with cashews which which had fresh and crispy vegetables.

Good, Not Greasy. Too bad the exterior of Ming Court wasn't presented as lovely as the food. Upon reaching the building you will notice the windows haven't been washed in eons, the mailbox is severely dented and nearly falling off, and the floor in the entrance slopes up and down unexpectedly. If you can get over the poor aesthetics you will be pleased to find a pleasant restaurant interior (although the bar area looked kind of dingy), friendly staff, and delicious food. For dinner we ordered the chicken curry, house special chow mein, choice A mixed vegetables, pan grilled shrimp, and shrimp toast. Considering there was only 1 other table eating inside our food took awhile to come out--at least 30 minutes, but all the food came out at the same time. The chow mein consisted of typical thin noodles, dotted with baby bok choy, beef, and shrimp. The shrimp were few and far between but tasty none the less. The choice A of mixed vegetables contained broccoli, cauliflower, suey choy, carrots, and onions and was perfectly tender crisp. The pan grilled shrimp came out sizzling and when the waitress brought them out she had the sauce on the side which she mixed it and let cook at our table. The shrimp were small but plump and tasty; there were about 12 shrimp in the dish. My favorite dish was the chicken curry. The curry sauce was delicious and the chicken was super tender. My other favorite of the night was the shrimp toast. The order contained 3 squares which were each sliced into quarters and came with a mayo dipping sauce. The dish consisted of a crispy fried toast topped with a mound of shrimp and sesame seeds that had all been fried. It was amazing! It wasn't greasy either considering it had been fried. I have had shrimp toast only in the USA before years ago, and this is the first restaurant here I have ever seen it. The mayo sauce puts it over the top--so delicious! For dessert we had fried bananas which were sweet, battered and fried bananas topped with caramel and ice cream. Prices seemed higher than other Chinese restaurants (about $12/dish) but the food was enjoyable and not greasy. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I would go back again.

This is my favorite restaurant in Winnipeg. The food is all made in house and it's consistently delicious. I love the atmosphere, it's intimate and quiet! The service is good, you always have time to eat your starters before the rest comes out and the prices are awesome!

Ming Court Review: One can find Ming Court restaurant on Edmonton Street between a building featuring a hearing clinic and a parkade.  Looking at the buildings aged brick exterior and the back lit plastic lettered sign in the window one gets the impression that either might hold out more hope in finding a decent lunch. Inside, one looks at the reviews posted and is only slightly more encouraged.  While they are glowing reviews, they are also a decade or more old, give or take a year.  Turns out, the reviews may be old but they are still accurate.  Ming Court offers great food and great value. Ming Court is open for lunch and supper.  The supper setting features the whole menu, while there is a limited but sufficient lunch menu.  The lunch menu features about a dozen items on it.  There is also a Tom Mein soup which is featured on a whiteboard on the dining room wall. The first time I visited, I tried the black bean beef with noodles.  The lun
