Cozy little gem of a place (seats about 30). Delicious food, especially the Paradise roll, and the most flavourful miso I’ve ever had. Service was very fast and friendly.
Super yummy and the waitress was so helpful. Clean restaurant. I cant wait to go back. Great variety of Japanese and Korean menu.
I used to drive all the way to St James for a sushi place that made mango rolls when Kai Sushi makes three different types!!! The T.A.M and the A.M are amazing mango rolls that are topped with an amazing mango sauce!! We drool over these and the location couldn't be more dangerous for us!! 10/10 must try the T.A.M or if your vegan the A.M!!!
Delicious nigiri and huge portions for the sushi! Wasn't crazy about the takoyaki though
For myself having a seafood and fish allergy it can be hard to get quality sushi that is safe for me. I tried a few different chicken and beef options which were delicious and they were amazing at accommodating my situation.
Best sushi I can find in Winnipeg. The rolls are big and filled with fresh fish. Price is fair. Nowadays so many sushi restaurants are getting cheap on fish but not Kai Sushi. Try it here if you are looking for sushi with high quality and fairly price.
Lunch Bento is a great deal. $16.95 comes with soup and salad, nigiri, sashimi, deep fried gyoza (2 pieces) , edamame (Not that much, but there's so much else it was fine), California roll and tempura. I upgraded to Alaska roll paying $1 instead of getting the california. Everything tasted fresh.
I was not expecting the tempura to be as big. It is a generous portion and fried right.
Pricing is very reasonable here. Base roll price (Tuna roll) is $4.25. There was a 60% to 40% for the fish to rice ratio.
The chopped scallop that was balanced and didn't have too much rice. More like a 80% filling, 20% rice.
Salad was fresh. Shredded cabbage which makes mixing the dressing very easy and evenly.
Soup was standard miso.
There was some issue with service but she was the only one on during the lunch hour.
The gamjatang was decent. There was a ridiculous amount of meat inside and it is served bubbling hot. They should also serve side plates but we were missing them so didn't get to try them at the time. We did ask for them to be packed up.
Parking is easy in a huge lot.
This might be my new sushi spot for this area!
When I did return for dinner I felt it was more average. Had the sashimi and also ordered the other Korean soup to try. I didn't prefer the soups here. It's still good, but the lunch bento was spectacular. The rolls we ordered we you very large and priced well

Absolutely the best sushi and noodle dishes I’ve ever had! Amazing price for large quantity, I really hope they make it through the pandemic! I would highly recommend the Japchae!
I had a very good experience. They recommended me these foods. It was a very good choice. Next time, I will try Korean food. Thank you so much ! 😊
