Binh An is the third North Main restaurant that I visited first early in January. The other two were Modern Coffee and Newcastle Restaurant. Bihn An is located in a little strip mall just south of Main and Redwood. One aspect of Binh An that I like is that there is good bus service up to it. The 15, 18, and 20 routes all stop across the street. When you walk in the register is straight ahead of you, and to your right you find tables lining down each wall, with the kitchen in behind on the left and the washrooms, etc., behind the tables on your right.
Friendly owners! Very tasty Pho’s and lovely tea. It took awhile for our food to arrive, but the owner said that they made the soup from the scratch. We will comeback. I will recommend it to my family and friends.
Really good food! Friendly owners. We had the pork vermicelli noodle bowl with shrimp on sugarcane (#18), sweet & sour shrimp soup (#45), and the chicken with lemongrass & peppers (#60). I'll be ordering the first 2 again the next time we're there. The third was good too with lots of vegetables - very lemongrass forward considering it was full of minced lemongrass. I wanted a bit more spice in the dishes, but my wife didn't and they did have chili sauce there just for that purpose anyway. Very glad we drove half way across town to enjoy the food!
Best Pho in the city! Have visited many other Vietnamese restaurants and Binh An definitely has the most flavourful, authentic tasting broths. No MSG either which is very hard to find! Their Chinese food is also excellent, vegetables were not over cooked but done to perfection, the meat was still moist even in the deep fried dishes and their sauces were a step up from the usual Chinese flavours. Service is quick and prices are cheap as....pho??
I eat here at least once a week and they make one of the best phos in the city, which has an excellent selection already. Banh mi is also excellent and the owner is hardworking and friendly. A real treat and well worth it is the $18 grilled meat platter under appetizers, especially the shrimp in sugarcane. Seriously, one of the best places In the city
I came here once with a Vietnamese mate because he told me that their pho is delicious and on point. Since then I have been there probably more than I should have considering I'm addicted to pho. Let me tell you people considering a new Viet restaurant - Binh an has the absolute best broth in the city. Whether it's beef, pork, or seafood, they are so delicious and I recommend this place to anybody looking for a good soup. I've never strayed away from the best broth and fresh ingredients with this place, but why mess with a good thing? My personal favorite is the traditional binh an seafood pho (#34 I believe). You will not be disappointed here. My second and third restaurants are Pho Tue Houng (spelling?) on 661 Ellice and TH Dang on pembina.
I've been here a handful of times and overall I would give them a 3.5. Their service is quick and friendly, but not attentive. You'll have to wait a bit before you can ask for water or extra napkins. You may also notice several tables with plates/cutlery from the previous customers. You just don't expect to see messy or dirty tables during the slower parts of the day. As for the food, I had the salad rolls. They're average. My partner and I also had the rare beef pho. The broth was delicious and they were generous with the meat. I do not like their noodles. They stick together and are hard to eat with chopsticks. Overall, my visit was OK. I had only come here because Phuong Nam was closed.
Binh An has the tastiest broths that I've had in the city. Definitely my favourite place for Vietnamese food. It's always tough for me to order because I've liked everything I've tried. The Pho is delicious, as well as the other noodle soups they offer. Aside from the #28 beef pho, some of my favourite dishes are #22-fish fillet with tomato and celery, #33-Pnong Peng soup(sliced pork, shrimp, squid), #12-charbroiled pork vermicelli, and #19-deluxe Vietnamese vermicelli with charbroiled pork, spring rolls, pork ball, and pork hash. Oh, and if the taste of the water seems different, it's because they flavour the ice with vanilla. I find it quite good.
If you're a fan of Pho and Vietnamese cuisine, you need to check this place out!

Excellent. Small little restaurant. Excellent food. Great prices. Service is friendly and casual like what you'd expect from a small family run place. Excellent food and they have vanilla flavoured water! New go too Vietnamese restaurant.
This is by far the best true authentic veit food in the city , iv been going here for 8 plus years , its made fresh every day. The couple Always believes in good healthy homeade food and that's what it is ! Iv taken so many people here and not one has not gone back ! This place deserves a 6 with out a doubt !
Delicious and charming. The wonton and medium rare beef soups were delicious. No lack of noodles, vegetables, or wontons here... fantastic savoury broths packed full of their respective ingredients. We were less sold on the shrimp-wrapped sugar cane, but I think that was just our tastes. We will be back, hopefully greeted again by the very friendly owner, to try more soups and various other items on their expansive menu.
I placed an order for pickup, selecting both Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The order was ready and waiting for me when I went to pick it up and service was very quick and friendly. They thanked me for my order. The food was fantastic, I had some picky people to serve and everyone was impressed. Will definitely make this a regular.
Great Food, Great Prices, Must Go. 7/10
Don't let the area or the outside appearance fool you, this spot is top notch. I've tried many a BBQ vermicelli bowl from other places in the city, but Binh An still remains as my favourite place for this dish.
Friendly service, great flavours and cheap prices (under $10.00 for a huge portion of Bun) makes this place my go-to spot when I'm craving Vietnamese.
Consistently Very Good Food. I've been to this place many times, and their food is consistently very good. Fresh, flavourful, well-prepared. From what I can see it's a family place--wife cooks in the back sometimes with husband's help, husband serves in the front, and is the delivery guy (I've heard delivery can sometimes take awhile as result, so pick it up yourself!). I love the honey-garlic chicken balls, and, well, pretty much all the dishes. I've only met one I didn't like and that was because I accidently ordered some gristly cut of meat--not their fault. This place would be one of Winnipeg's top restaurants if it had a better location. Definitely go.
Very good. Had a quick lunch here the other day, and the pho was great. My wife had the springroll noodle bowl, and we shared an order of salad rolls. Everything was fresh and tasty, with the exception of the water we received, which had a very odd coconut flavor. Why would water taste like coconut?
Favorite place to eat anytime.. This is by far the best restaurant ive tried in the city for vermicelli. I actually craved it while pregnant with my son. Ive been served by both owners they are great people. Very big portions. Ive ordered off the Chinese menu. Very big portions wonderful flavors.... and not expensive. I've recommended a few friends to go there.
Not Ukrainian but.... A quiet and quaint location in the north end of the city. You will drive by the strip mall and miss it if you are not looking for it. Binh An Restaurant 1076 Main Street is a gem for good food. The Wonton soup is excellent. The Hot plates sizzle, the spring rolls are tasty and the assorted menu items are quite good. The Combination plates are reasonably priced and have a good grouping of items. The décor has changed a little over the past year, but the proprietors are a lovely couple who make the most out of your eating experience. They are warm and inviting and most gracious to all those who dine there.
4.5/5 perogies
Huge Portions, Great taste.. Ordered deluxe beef pho (large size) and chinese combination plate D. Chinese food was just fair, the pho was delicious and both had HUGE portions. We will definitely be back.
WOW. SO glad I finally made an order from this place!!! The Medium Rare Beef Noodle soup is SO delicious, the broth has so much depth of flavor, beefy, sweet and just salty enough. I've heard from friends that the beef bones are simmered for 10-14 hours before becoming this heavenly soup goodness... Then the noodles, sprouts, onions, fresh cilantro & Thai Basil, paper-thin beef... Yowzahs!!! Topped it off with some black bean sauce, this soup changed my life, AND healed my cold!!! Also tried the #19 pork vermicelli which was also AMAZING, perfect balance of ingredients and the pork hash had such a great real barbecue flavour. A+++!!! I have found a new addiction, folks! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Get the Soup!. It doesn't matter which soup you order, it will be amazing! The place has a great vibe to it, the service is excellent and the food has tons of flavor. Go when you have some time as they cook everything fresh so you wait a bit longer but it's well worth it!
I've lived close by this place for about 4 years now, I've always just walked past it....
One day about a month ago me & my boyfriend decided to try something new so we came here, BEST consomme soup I've ever eaten I actually crave it. Huge portions the good is delicious, ever since then we've always been back about 5 times in the past month, service is good *thumbs up* the owner is very friendly because he's seen us there a few times, definitely my #1 fav Chinese/Viet place to go in Winnipeg!!! My boyfriend is on his way for some takeout as I type this lol I can't wait (Y)
Great food and value. Went for lunch the other day, I had an egg foo yong, and my buddy had pork vermicelli. Huge portions, and very tasty. The price was extremely reasonable for the amount of food we got.
Will def be back!!!
I have their deluxe beef noodle pho at least once a week. The broth is phenomenal, and everything that comes with it makes it excellent. Owners are great.
Good Food. Good food. I usually get the combo that includes sweet n sour meatballs and its awesome. The sauce is very flavorful, even the consome soup is delicious. If your looking for a good chinese food restauant, don't hesititate to try it out. Prices are cheap, service is good, and food is great!
Yes, there is parking.. Don't let the neighbourhood scare you away; great food, huge selection, and very low prices will keep me coming back. Plus the owners are super nice people.
A real hole in the wall dive type place, but don't let that stop you from eating here.
Amazing. Binh An is the best viet restaurant in the city. They have amazing salad rolls, and the sauce for dipping is one of a kind, the egg foo young is also amazing, as well as their vermicelli and pho. The owners and their little ones are very friendly, they remember you, what your favorites are, and make you feel very welcome!
Soups and Authentic Asian Food. Excellent soups, wonderful mushi dishes, great asian salads, good combination plate. Yes you will wait for you food a while but its all freshly cooked. Family business, only wife and husband running it. One advice from me, try to avoid beef in that restaurant. Never go sick from eating it, or any other food, been going there for over 7 years, just the beef (maybe its the preparation) tastes a little sour to me. Fan of Egg Foo Young? Go for it, for the price, best I have had in Winnipeg. Enjoy!
Wonderful Soups. Binh An takes great pride in their soups and for very good reason. Just talking with the owner will result in exactly the soup that you need for the day, no matter what the season, it seems.
Great pho. Easily some of the best in the city. Make sure you're hungry if you get the Large serving of pho, as the portions of meat are very generous. The broth is very distinguishable from most other places. I would recommend this place to anyone lookin for good soup.
Delicious and great deals. Try the Lemon chicken and fried rice..really, it's all good!! Great menu!
The black bean tofu is great. Portions are well sized and all so flavourful.
I really love their ginger beef and their fried rice. I also love their egg rolls as well.
I absolutely love ordering the salad rolls here. No one in the city makes tastier peanut sauce. Every time we visit, we also order the deluxe vermicelli. I would highly recommend visiting this place!

New owners in 2020. Absolutely wonderful when asking for menu items when you have dietary restrictions. Thay made a gluten free ginger chicken for my friend that is to die for.
Menu is streamlined. Alcohol no longer served.
