I really like the atmosphere here: Comfortable and rustic, with a 70s feel. It is like no other. It's a great place to relax over a nice meal.
Along with other hey have an excellent selection of packaged teas, coffees, soaps and other health items to purchase, as well as their spelt and sourdough breads.
Friday afternoon lunch was busy, but with little waiting. Service was excellent; very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome.
I had a bowl of their carrot and ginger soup. It was thick and delicious; perfect to warm you up. It came with a slice of their homemade bread. For an extremely reasonable price, I took a generously-sized date square home. It was tasty, but the non-date base and topping were dry and could have used some sweetening.
My friend had the sliced lamb sandwich which she enjoyed. The potato chips that came with it were likely made there, and were crispy and good.
We had an enjoyable and relaxing lunch, then picked up a few things at their store.
The Yellow Deli will definitely be visited again.
Now this is a very cool rustic place! Live edge tables, driftwood, leather decor. Its like eating in a Hobbitts house. We had lunch at this restaurant which is now called "The Yellow Deli" Its kind of a healthier option menu. Chips are actually potato chips and not fries! lol. My coworker discovered that but didnt seem to mind as the sandwich he ordered was fantastic according to him.
The service is warm and friendly and we will go back. Just had the lunch menu so I dont know what the dinner food is like.
My co - worker took me after work one day, and I had a fabulous time. The place is so beautifully set up!! With super great priced teas, natural medicines, to incenses. I felt like a valued guest from the moment I walked in the door. We sat to eat, and shared a sandwich and soup, both that were absolutely fabulous and cooked to perfection. I would recommend to anyone!!
I went for lunch and had the tomato basil soup. It was delicious! And I love the decor in the restaurant. I will definitely come back again.

My friends and I have made this place our new hang out spot for evening dessert. Their carrot cake is AMAZING, I literally get it every time I'm there. The servers are a little socially detached, but I think that just has to do with their culture and heritage. Highly recommend their lattes as well, delicious! If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing hang out, this is the place to be. They even give out the wifi password if you're wanting to study.
I wanted to go to the Common Sense because I'm so curious that this group runs a store and deli. They have some literature/pamphlets at the front about their community or similar groups. Sometimes the service is odd or disjointed, with no sense of urgency, yet there are quite a few people working there just wandering around. The menu is small and limited, but I knew that going in. I tried the spinwich, which was wholesome and decently priced, and an iced chai yerba mate drink. The seating area is neat, with a wood lodge/cottage feel.
A family friend took me here for lunch and i was surprised that such a place even existted ! With that being said, its a cozy little bakery with booths and a couple tables on one side and then a health food shop on the other side. Staff was friendly and helpful and service was very quick. I had a vanilla chai tea and it was very good. The veggie burger was equally as tasty. Only downfall was their 4 item menu. Not much to choose from and i think some people might not be able to make a choice as they may not like any of the menu items. I dont think a child would enjoy eating there, for example. But i underatand its just a small bakery type thing so they probably want to keep their menu small and simple. Overall its a nice and cute place to go for a light lunch.
If you are a folk fester, you may recall that Common Sense had a food stall a couple years ago. They served a drink called, "iced spice" that I was tempted to buy every single day of the festival. Today I was able to re-live this drink. In the restaurant, they called it an iced vanilla chai yerba mate. Compared to other chai lattes that I've tried, this was less sweet, but more complex in flavour (contained cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper etc.). I also ordered a Reuben sandwich, but the real star of the show was the drink. To top it off, their teas were available for purchase in-store! My friend and I both purchased the cardamon chai yerba mate to make our own iced spice at home!
I came in looking for something light to take out for lunch. I asked one of the guys at the counter and he suggested a fresh salad to go will be good. So, I ordered the salad and an iced tea drink to go with it. It was one of the best salad I ever had - fresh, green and crunchy, with dried raspberry and almonds and the dressing is to die for, not to mention the tea is so good and refreshing. It's a different kind of iced tea mixed drink only them can make it. They also sell loose teas and fresh baked bread.
So yummy! What a neat little place. Great people. Went with my sister and want to take my husband!
Cool place, good tea and coffee. Great sandwiches and desserts. Affiliated with the Twelve Tribes “religion” of sorts so may be beneficial to do some research before going in if you care. Messed up two things with our order (iced instead of hot drink, strawberries instead of blackberries). Didn’t mention it but I’m sure if we did they would’ve fixed it. Came in like right before they closed and stayed after they closed and they were very kind about it.
Very cute place. Incredibly nice reclaimed wood interior. Food was great, nice fireplace, able to buy teas and variety of other natural organic products.
Been there twice. Love the menu & prices. Wish they made more stuff. Everything is so wholesome and delicious. The ambiance is great, transports you to a different world.
The huge fire in the fireplace was very welcoming this bitter cold morning. Staff was friendly and welcoming, my cardamom Chai Yerba mate was great, as were the sandwiches. Cute little shop with unique products, some of which they make. And the beautiful wood everywhere you look is lovely indeed.
Went for Father's day I was very surprised on the decor and the friendliness of the staff. I had the Corn Beef sandwich that was the very very best sandwich I've ever had. I would give you 20/20, thank you for a great experience at your restaurant. Keep up the great work.
Beautiful restaurant interior, this restaurant is located in st boniface.
We tried a number of dishes.
The turkey sandwich, vegan sandwich and the lamb.
My favorite was the vegan. My friend requests extra sauce since it can be a little dry.
I found my lamb was a bit heavier on the sauce though. The flavor was very good. I liked for they sliced the cucumber so that it gets to every part of the sandwich.
Bread quality was excellent.
The turkey sandwich was good but rather Standard.
Carrot cake was fine. Not my favorite as it was a touch too sweet, but for those who like extra sweet this might be perfect.
Service was friendly. They chatted with us as opposed to just serving. Happy they are in my neighborhood and would love to return to try more items off the menu
I saw a banana milk, though they seemed to make it sound like a smoothie/milkshake.
Parking is available in a lot behind the building or on the street in the front.
What a fantastic little organics restaurant + small whole foods shop! The staff are absolutely wonderful and extremely kind! Love everything about the environment, the little old times cottage/village feel to the place makes it so unique and authentic! The menu is so fun and cute as well, love that its hand drawn with fun doodles! The booths are one of my favourite parts of the whole place because they're all different and detailed so well! Not to mention the food is to die for, I had the homemade veggie burger and in all honesty it's one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had! Everything on the menu is also reasonably priced and they also have one of the best brewed coffees in the whole city! 11/10 I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to eat somewhere different! 😊
This place is incredible!!! The inside was built by hand by the friendly proprietor, Levi. Attention to detail will blow you away. There are even pressed flowers set into the windows 🤩
Drip coffee was perfect, Rose Deli sandwich was on point. Will definitely be back here a lot. Lots of hippy dippy baked goods and amazing-smelking bread. Down to earth and amazingly funky 🤗
There is a natural goods store attached, where I purchased vegetable seeds, shampoo, and natural toner. Check them out!
