Double Greeting Noodle Snack House is a small, Chinese restaurant, tucked away on McDermott Avenue. This means that it’s located just west of the Winnipeg’s Historic Exchange District. On top of that, it’s a little store front stuck in between a couple of larger office buildings. Double Greeting Hours

Absolutely great hole-in-the-wall place ... small menu but what there is is great.  They make their own (v delicious) hot sauce.  BE AWARE, tho .... it's CASH ONLY.  Super nice ppl.

After looking at the reviews I decided to make the trip down, and I wasnt disappointed. Lovely people and very accommodating on my request to order a combination for the soup. I ordered 3 and 5 combo with homemade noodles, which is the shrimp dumplings and beef brisket. They instead gave me wontons instead of shrimp dumplings, but was still not disappointed. The homemade noodles have a nice chew and spring to them. Very filling with the beef brisket and their homemade hot sauce is amazing! Only downsides that didnt give them 5 star rating, place needs a good cleaning, parking can be difficult, wrong order, and cash only. Still a must and for sure will be back to try the Singapore noodles.

Update. Came in and ordered the Singapore noodles for takeout. I enjoyed them with the green peppers and carrots. Meat, egg, and bean sprouts were lacking. Good but I still am on a mission to find a place that makes the best noodles. So far Fortune cooking still makes the best

Fairly recently discovered this place - since starting a job at HSC 6 months ago, and I can already tell I'll be coming here for many years to come. My partner and I are almost through the entire menu and we have yet to find something we DIDN'T like. The beef brisket, along with their hot sauce on everything is a must.
The only down side is it's a cash only place, but that doesn't matter in my world when the food and prices are more than great.

This is a small hole in the wall restaurant that I used to pass by often. I love dim sum and they offer a small menu of dim sum items, but their menu seems to focus on noodle dishes. I tried their wonton soup, shrimp rice rolls, and Hong Kong style rice roll. The prices were fair and the food was fresh and just what you'd expect. I might not return here often because I like more dim sum options, but I wouldn't hesitate to come if I'm craving rice rolls. Keep in mind this restaurant is cash only.

Hole in the wall = best food ever. Ran by the sweetest people.

All their dishes have a home-cooking feeling. And they are really known for their beef brisket.

They have a simple menu but everything is pretty tasteful and affordable.

I would recommend the curry beef brisket, fried rice and pretty much any of their noodle soups and definitely do not skip out on the hot sauce they have.

They also have steamed bun and beef tendons that was recently added to the menu after years of us ordering it off menu (best decision ever)!

We love this place. Been coming here every weekend for years. Their food is amazing as always. The egg noodles, chilli oil and soup broth are so delicious and special. We often order dried seafood noodles with soup on the side, stir-fried beef tripe with egg noodles, and shrimp dumpling soup. About $30 for 2.

I love this place. It is fantasticly delicious. It's hidden away on a block of McDermot (between Dagmar and Hargrave) where you can easily miss it.

I've been back many times since my first visit a couple of years ago, and I always tend to have the Shanghai Noodles with pork and cabbage. The noodles are chewy and delicious, the cabbage is nice and crunchy, the pork was tender and tasty, and the sauce was really tangy and delicious. It was served piping hot and fresh, and with a side of delicious oil-and-vinegar hot sauce. I loved everything about it. Chinese tea is included too. All told, lunch will set you back around $12 or $13.

The decor is incredibly basic (wood paneling, 1970s-era diner tables and chairs), but at least it's comfortable. The staff speaks limited English but is very friendly.

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that are so much fun to find, and you never know if you should tell everyone or keep the news to yourself. I decided on the latter.

This will not as much of a review as it is a menu suggestion since I have been getting the same thing here on infrequent occasions for the past 10 years. The Special B at Double Greeting is Singapore style curried rice vermicelli with bits of pork, shrimp (tails off, thank you), and julienne carrot, green pepper and onion. It is delicious, a little bit on the greasy side but that is part of what I like about it... Other Singapore style curried noodles I have tried are dry, this is not. I always get a side of the hot sauce to kick it up a bit. For about $10 it fills one of those round foil take out containers that fold over a paper lid (you know the ones). It makes for a reasonably priced and very filling lunch.

We mostly just get take-out, but we have eaten in a couple of times, it is drab and dated, and kind of has that musty smell much like many  restaurants in the Chinatown/Exchange area. It is not clean but not filthy either. Very casual and not really attentive service, but I think that is the norm for family run restaurants. I'm not saying that's excusable but it's to be expected. They make up for it by being so friendly, they seem genuinely happy to see me every time I go in.

One important piece of advice: bring cash. They do not accept credit or debit!

Went there for lunch the other day. Food was great. I recommend the soup #1 and #5 combination. Wonton soup and beef brisket soup. It was really good. Service wasn't the greatest. Waited 25 mins for our order. Don't expect it to look nice in there either.

The food was tasty and the prices are low. We will definitely be back.

Great handmade noodles. The beef brisket is very tender and flavourful. The fish balls are bouncy. The Shrimp wontons also have a minced pork layer and are very tasty. Staff are nice and to the point. Only have had one experience that was not ideal, but the food overshadows it for sure.

They were mainly the soup noodle house, very limited choice on fried rices, fried noodle dishes; also with some chinese breakfast steamed rice noodle rolls.

#15 and #45 are my two favorites! Go there almost twice a week. My favourite Chinese Food of all times in Winnipeg. Cute tiny little place located on Mcdermot. Owners are friendly and parking is easy too. Very cheap and they accept only cash.

Stopped by for a drink to cool down. Not a regrettable decision. Greeted respectfully along with pleasant service. Will return to try the grub

You might have to wait a bit if the place is busy but I thought it was worth it, they clearly do their best here and the food's good too

Quite possibly the best noodle soup in town in my opinion. Broth is nice and flavorful. I recommend the beef brisket soup and a long donut. The place is small and cozy, they're not open too late though, and it's cash only. Update: they accept debit now!
