The best take-out Chinese food we’ve had in ages. Delivered quickly and still hot. Ingredients seemed quality and fresh. No gastrointestinal issues subsequently, unlike many other take-out joints. Love you long time Toy Sun.
You won't be disappointed. We've been searching for a long time for a good Chinese food restaurant in the North Kildonan/Riverbend area. The veal, in particular, is amazing, chicken balls with almonds in mushroom sauce (almond soo gai #65) is like the chicken and mushroom gai kew dishes that I always have to have on any order I get. I had almost given up on finding good Chinese in my area and we had actually resorted to driving a distance to pick it up (but even that Chinese food started to fall short). Do not hesitate to order. Everything we got on the menu (2 veggie dishes, 5 meat dishes, egg rolls, etc) was all as good or better than I have ever had. Thank you Toy Sun, you are definitely our new favourite Chinese food restaurant. (FYI they deliver within 5 km of Devon and Henderson and if your home is outside the 5km, it would be worth you picking it up)
I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is amazing, fresh and fabulous. I had tried 10 different Chinese restaurants in Winnipeg and could not find Amazing ginger beef like I like it! Until now! They use the freshest ingredients and the couple that own this place are very friendly! Best take out, eat in and lunch buffet! My #1 choice for Chinese in Winnipeg!
This is the 2nd best Chinese food I've had. It has been very hard to find Chinese food comparable to the restaurant that is in my neighborhood and my normal place to buy, but I think that I have found one that is close in taste.
The portions were ample for the price, based on the 3 dishes we had, and all were all delicious. The one thing that this restaurant does have over my favorite place is the ambience. It has a much nicer dining in experience, which is not a biggy in my case as mine is always takeout. If I were to need a dining out experience that needed to be Chinese food I would come here, even though it is a bit of a drive.

I tried this place on the recommendation of a friend and wow am I ever glad I did! The food was fantastic! I picked up about $100 worth of food and that was tons and tons...everything was fresh tasting and absolutely delicious. The stand outs were Schezuan beef (wet), both beef and chicken chow mein and scallops with snow peas. This will definitely be my new go to spot for Chinese food, so good!

Great little restaurant. My only complaint is that I wish they had more dishes for 1-2 people instead of having to get 4 things. I appreciated the complimentary consommé. It was delicious as was everything else. The service was wonderful. We picked the mooshi pork, shrimp chop suey, Shanghai noodles with mixed vegetables and mushroom friend rice. The fried rice was literally the best I've ever had.
Best Chinese on east side of the Red. Lunch buffet is excellent; dinner menu the same. Shrimp in Spicy Salt is 5 stars. Beef in all dishes is melt-in-mouth tender. Service pleasant; menu has uncommon items in comparison to other Chinese Restaurants. Chef is a 4 star Warhaft review in previous location. Highly recommended.
I frequent this restaurant as i live right beside it, and i have to say this is bay FAR one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Very good prices, portions and quality, very rare to find all 3. They have an amazing lunch buffet also on weekdays.
People who have given this restaurant a poor rating must not have been their any time recently this place is a hidden gem.
Very friendly. Lunch buffet on a Wednesday was amazing. Egg-rolls, veg, shrimp, spare ribs, dumpling soup, noodles, rice, 3 different meats. Very good. Not busy enough!!!!
The crispy spring chicken was excellent. Very tender and tasty. The deluxe wonton soup was very good and the bean cake and mixed vegetables was also really good. Order was ready when promised, always great service.
