Amazing food and drinks! I especially loved the fresh tuna and the Gardener drink. Very intimate experience with friends. Very attentive service.

Best place in Winnipeg we had on our visit. Cute renovation of a heritage Barber shop. Small local place you NEED a reservation. Service was prompt, he totally took control of ordering and did a perfect job - two of everything was the right amount of food. Each dish quite unique , ranged from ok (meat sticks with lettuce) to wow (the scallop ceviche, the raw tuna). Cocktails were terrific and affordable wine list. This place a winner
We went there on a Saturday, the place is quite small so you have to make a reservation. Everything was fantastic. Our server was knowledgable, speedy and very nice. The food and drinks were incredible.. we got the torched tuna, steak tartare, meatballs, nachos and oysters. Every dish was to die for. I would highly recommend!!
We really enjoyed our first visit to Close Company. The service was fabulous and we really enjoyed the intimate close setting. The food was excellent as well. In particular, we enjoyed the Moroccan meatballs, the nachos, and the torched tuna. The crab fondue was pretty average, which kept the rating at a 4 rather than a 5.
This place leaves Segovia in the dust to our surprise. Very quiet intimate setting with seating for ten. Cocktails were on point. Food came out quickly and staff was very friendly. Our new favorite restaurant in Winnipeg. A hidden gem.

This is hands down one of my favourite spots in the city because it consistently delivers fantastic food, drinks, and service. The cocktails and small plates are always creative, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. At some restaurants, small plates are so small that you only get a couple bites--a tease really--if sharing with a few friends. But Close Co's portions are big enough that you'll get to really taste and enjoy each offering even if you (have to ;) ) share. Items are reasonably priced, too. Some of my favourites are the comforting sage butternut squash gnocchi, the amazingly soft moroccan meatballs, and the huge serving of nachos. You for sure need to try the roasted root veggies--the honey pesto is perfect.
True to its name, Close Co has a warm atmosphere in terms of decor and staff. The only potential downside is that because of their cozy size, I haven't always been able to get a spot when I crave it! That said, they are now accepting reservations at certain times of the day, so you can plan ahead to avoid disappointment. You can also book the whole restaurant, like we did for a bachelorette.
Interesting, small place, shared several dishes, charcuterie board was underwhelming but chorizo meatballs, tartare were very good and surprisingly, best dish was the mixed root vegetables. Kudos to Chef Frank for making magic happen in a small environment.
Went here for the delicious drinks but couldn't resist the yummy food. Creative and quality drinks paired with amazing food! Small place which is great for a date or catching up with friends- but go earlier than you think to ensure you get a table! I loved this place and will definitely be back.
They recently changed their hours to evenings only.... and changed the menu as well. Blown away.... every menu is better than the last! Which is saying something as the food ( which consists of small plates) is spectacular. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. 5 stars... please go!!
The Swizzle Styx dined here last week & we really enjoyed it. It truly is a tiny, cozy spot but the service & food was excellent. We actually tried everything on the menu! Favourites were the meatballs & mussels. We'll be back!

Fantastic little restaurant! Seats about a dozen inside and has a small patio during the summer. There's an adorable little porthole where they pass drinks to the patrons on the patio. They make some great cocktails, very original and tasty!
This would be a fantastic place to book for special events! It's mostly a drinks and appetizers type of place. The chef's menu was not available the day we went, but there were plenty of yummy options on the "shared plates" menu.
The menu isn't really suitable for vegetarians or vegans, though.
I was on my way home from work today, and I decided I would treat myself to a little solo impromptu dinner. So, I decided I would go to Close Co. for the first time and try it out. I walked in, sat down and just as the server was handing over the menu I pushed it back towards her and said: "feed me." And WOW was I not disappointed. Chef and the lovely staff hit a grand slam! This unreal hole in the wall was great for connecting with the servers and other diners making the experience that much better. The food — was phenomenal! My chef's table consisted of oysters, homemade ricotta, warm lobster salad, meatballs and the best damn desert I have ever put in my mouth — the pannacotta! Perfect wine pairings throughout and a delicious Irish whiskey cocktail topped off this fantastic meal. I do have to apologize to my fiancé Alicia for going here without her... I know this may put me in the doghouse, but that means I get to come back soon!
We tried everything (except for the olives and tomato salad) and can honestly say it was the best meal we've had in a long time. We are sad we're not from Winnipeg and can't eat from here every day! The portions were surprisingly plentiful, prices were fair, and the flavour and creativity was out of this world. Call and reserve now, you won't regret it!
Great shop. Their cocktails are EXCELLENT and everyone who works there is kind and fun. The atmosphere is intimate and great for event dinners like birthdays or Christmas parties. In the summer the patio brings the inside atmosphere outside and you can watch Stafford go by. The menu is evolving and I’ve never been let down.
Make sure you get the focaccia with your meal and if you’re having a cocktail get the Gardener. Right now they’re also offering take out cocktail kits so you can make them at home; just add the booze!
Such an amazing restaurant. Cocktails are amazing and food is always delicious! I went on Thursday and was also super impressed with their COVID-19 protocol. The staff were all wearing masks, and our server was very diligent on sanitizing her hands every time she came inside from the patio. Totally recommend to everyone!
Small on space; big on heart and flavour. Great food doesn’t have to be complicated. Simple, fresh, quality ingredients mixed with a passion for finding combinations of flavour and textures that excites the palate. Great cocktails, too! Sooo enjoyed the chef’s menu and looking forward to seeing what you have planned next. Thanks for a delicious evening!

Food was magnificent in my opinion, with a menu that is what I like to call approachable sophistication.
Long story short in enjoyed it immensely and recommend it to anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion while maintaining a cozy atmosphere. 10/10
