Some dining experiences are hard to describe, this was one of them. From the moment we actually found the place down a back lane no with no signage it felt like we were going to an elegal speakeasy! I knew this was going to be special! The surroundings we're like we were in a hide out for the mob candles and Stone and eclectic antique mismatched tables and chairs. The food was amazing, unique and beautifully prepared. Duck that was melt in your mouth and lobster and scallops like I have never tasted. And we even got a free desert because the server thought we were waiting a bit long. The desert was an incredible a French cheese hazelnut combination with a port that was just the perfect finish. The server said they have never advertised and I know why they haven't had to! Only word of mouth and I get it, this place is hard to find, but worth the search! If I could give more stars I would!!
Came here for our monthly dinner club and it was one of the most delicious meals from start to finish I’ve had in a long time. Our server was friendly and attentive, and my flaming tiki drink was the cherry (or marshmallow) on top! Excellent all around

The atmosphere and just the whole experience of this place is a must. Our server was very nice and very attentive with us thru out our whole time there. Food was plated really nicely and everything tasted real good. The potatoes are a must!! Definitely coming back here in summer with our pupper ☺️☺️
The antique/vintage vibe was so cool. Dark with candles everywhere provides the best lighting and the food was incredible! We had the duck and boar and the potato dauphinoise was quite simply incredible. I wish I would have ordered another to take home. The cocktails were delicious! The dessert left a little to be desired, but the rest of the meal easily made up for it!
We ordered the New Year's dinner kit and it was delicious. But since we didn't eat immediately after it was cooked, we wanted to dine-in when restrictions eased. The meal exceeded our expectations. If I were to make a criticism, the meringue was a chewy. Our server was delightful and the ambience of the restaurant was cozy. We'll be back!
What a wonderful hidden nook! Sous Sol provides a chill ambiance with very welcoming service. The late-night menu was exactly what we needed after a long day. Definitely will be coming back soon!
I was there as part of a party of four for dinner; between us we sampled a wide variety of the menu as well as a couple of bottles of wine and some cocktails. The food was as good as I've had in any restaurant in Winnipeg, and they make a great Old Fashioned. Our server was delightful; she had a great knowledge of the wine list including some history behind some of the regions their wine came from (which was confirmed by one of our party who is somewhat of a wind buff), and we had a great time talking with her. The restaurant is dimly lit and cozy with a decor that reminded me of a couple of restaurants I've been to in New Orleans, which is a plus for me. This is a great restaurant that is worth going to as regularly as one can afford.
This is my and my fiancée's favorite restaurant in Winnipeg. If you are looking for a fantastic, romantic, atmospheric restaurant and you choose anywhere that isn't Sous Sol, you are making a mistake. Well portioned meals, top shelf liquor, and staff who can 100% recommend the proper drink to go along with each course of your meal. I've never been let down by the charismatic waiters and waitresses who work there and we always look forward to the next time we have the time to go back. Max, a gentleman who works here, makes the absolute best hot sauce I've ever had in my life. If you request a bottle or have the oysters, you will not be disappointed.

The service and food is incomparable here. Absolutely amazing. The space is beautiful. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. If you are looking to impress a date, this would be the first place I recommend.
