I was surprised to hear this restaurant has been opened 8 months and I had no idea! Thank goodness for my Google search. It's next to impossible to find South Indian food in this city. Upon entering, the place was nicer than I expected. I sat at the booth where a picture of 3 prominent Bollywood actors hung, one being, yours truly, Shahrukh Khan! I ordered traditional and stuck to the Sambar Idly and Masala Dosa. The dish came with 2 idly's and big in size, served in a descent amount of sambar (although by the end, I wished I had more!), with chutney on the side. Ting on the spicy side, but still very good. Then came my masala dosa.. so fresh, served hot to the touch. It had a buttery taste to it. I've never eaten one that tasted so fresh and delicious. It truly felt like I was in India. The potato inside was almost a bit mashed so it melted in your mouth. I can't think of a place that will serve you a dosa so fresh and hot. Highly recommend this place. Cons: Bit surprised at the prices. Maybe because the location? I figured near the University they would cater more to students (although I thought I overheard talk of a student plan?). I paid $6.99 for the Sambar Idly and $11.99 for the Masala Dosa. Plus tip..(drank water), it was about a $25 tab. Coconut chutney was tasty but watery. I would like to see a thicker authentic chutney. Customer Service: would be nice to be checked on more frequently. Have staff more present in the dining area. But when you do get their attention- they are SUPER nice. Very kind and accommodating. The lady who served me was really chill and very kind. She even asked me about how the spice level was after serving. If you have a South Indian food craving- look no further! Apparently they serve some North dishes as well :)
