Nomnomnom!!! Wonderful service and even better food! Definitely worth the splurge! Loved the steak tartare and Alaskan king crab. I have tried steak tartare elsewhere and the one at Hys are by far the best!!

I was dissatisfied to learn that Hy's allows infants and children into the dining room during dinner hours. When you go out for a $300+ dinner, having a screaming infant at the table next to you ruins the ambiance. All of the food was absolutely delicious apart from the Caesar salad, which had too much dressing.
Stunning place! Perfect food and great service :) recommend the French onion soup!
The Perfect Steak!. Was in Whistler for an anniversary get away and was recommended to check out Hy's for a good meal. I had fairly moderate expectations for this place seeing as it has mixed reviews but one bite into my Sirloin steak and I think I went to heaven...everything went into slow motion after each bite as I savoured the delicious char-grilled taste, the tender and flavourful meat...even the baked potato side was delicious! Went perfectly with a glass of red. Our server was quite the funny man and gave us the right about of service without being too obtrusive. Great cozy atmosphere. Hope the one in downtown Vancouver will be just as good!
After having two other places close early, Hy's shows that thet exist for the customer and not their staff. Great. Food expertly prepared and great service in a relaxing setting.
Great steak and lobster, French onion soup was AMAZING! I want to go back especially for that soup.
Long time customer. I have been going to hy,s for forty years now and have been to hawaii and all the rest of them . if anyone say,s where do you want to go for your birthday they dont have to wait for the answer . i knew hy personally and what a wonderfull man he was . by the time i have had my cheese bread and french onion soup i can bearly eat my steak but i do. if i was on death row thats what i would order lol.
Old Skool Steakhouse. This place still ROCKS after all these years and especially shines in a sea of new contenders (pretenders) including Keg, Mortons, Players and Gothams.IMHO - Hys has them beat hands down and seems to envoke a certain old-skool feel and charm.
YEAH, the competition may have fancier digs and flashier ads but canNOT match this old masters' ability to make beef feel good. And exceptional service 2 boot.
My fave steakhowuse in Vanc & Whistler
Mmmm.. Excellent steak, stellar service from Marvin and better value (hands down) over the Keg. Have yet to try Chophouse, (south of Whistler Village stroll) but am considering making Hy's Downtown location a replacement for when the parents want to go out for red meat. Highly recommend the ahi tuna loin (appetizer) and the porterhouse.
Awesome Mouth Watering Steaks.. Hy's is one of those old fashioned steak joints where the food will knock your socks off and you will not leave here disappointed. Nice clean place, good service, excellent mouth watering steaks.
Great Steaks. I always thought steakhouses didn't cater to kids. What a great time this was. The service staff were great with the four and five year old in our party. The bill is 20% less in Oct/Nov. You just can't go wrong - the food was stellar.
Fabulous steak. Love the 20pct discount in oct/nov
Best steaks in Whistler. Be sure to ask for Jonny Rotten as your server!
We had a few ideas on places to eat for our friend's birthday but all of them were busy and would require either 30 mins to an hour wait. Hy's Steakhouse wasn't actually one of the options, because it is really pricey. But since it was on a friend's bucket list, we went anyway. Hy's was actually on the complete opposite side of the village from where we parked, and luckily when we got to the restaurant we were seated fairly quickly. For my starter, I ordered the Carpaccio, and since I've been looking for a Yorkshire Pudding, I ordered the Prime Rib. The carpaccio was delicious - just the perfect mix of ingredients. Love the extra kick added from the mustard. The Yorkshire pudding was good too. A lot better than I've had recently. Thankfully not stale, and nice and airy, and still crispy. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, and very tender and juicy. For starters, my friends ordered the Tuna Tataki, Fresh Oysters, and Shrimp Cocktail. From what I heard, the Tuna Tataki was ama
While we have visited 5 of the 6 Canadian locations and the Vancouver one many times the Whistler Hy’s is still our favorite. The food is great and the service is fantastic! Every time!
