We went for brunch with a few friends and really loved the atmosphere and unique menu choices.
I went with the dish-of-the-day:
Two minced-veal enchiladas covered in a layer of stringy cheese, topped with two sunny-side up eggs, and served in a cast iron skillet. It was honestly delicious, and melted in my mouth. I would go back just for this!
Other notable dishes:
1. Homemade spicy chorizo sausage, in a homemade hot-dog bun, with a side of yuka fries. Served with cilantro-parsley-lime mayo.
2. Swordfish tataki salad: Very fresh, but dainty portion.
They let us know that everything there is homemade; the bread, the tortillas, the sausage, the honey was harvested from roof-top bee-hive. *Coffee was good. Atmosphere was fresh and bright. Service was courteous.
Will return to try supper menu.
We weren't blown away by Lavanderia's dinner service, but brunch is a different ball game. That Japanese Kobe beef burger is killer. Might be THE juiciest burger patty out there!
By the time I reached Lavanderia, I had eaten two meals already - one from their sister restaurant Park, just before. However, the people I dined with continued to eat and loved everything - I opted for a liquid diet instead. The room was charming and had a sort of market feeling which was great. Worth a visit and will be back for food on my next visit to Montreal.
What I learned from my time at Lavanderia is that #KobeBeef is served there. That's awesome to know. I didn't order it though. I had a Kale Salad that I will call ''Peaches with Benefits''. The kale + barbecued peaches + maple syrup bacon + parmesan was heavenly. It was a bit too small, so I was happy we ordered empanadas. The show stealer was the cake though. This #CakeByThePound was everything I never knew I wanted in a cake. It was Ferrero Rocher meets home made ice-cream and it was my favourite. Shout-out to the lovely ladies who were sitting next to me who absolutely loved this restaurant. I had the best time seeing their dishes and hear them talk about the food!
It pains us to admit that we weren't wowed by Lavanderia, given how much we love PARK. Perhaps it had something to do with our expectations and the disappointing carne asada, Argentina's quintessential dish nonetheless.

You can tell when a restaurateur is also a chef just by the look of the kitchen. That is one of the first things I noticed when I walked into Antonio Park’s Lavanderia restaurant. An open kitchen with a minimalist decor, the place also boast high ceilings and windows that let in lots of light. The choice of light pastel colors also accentuate that fresh bright feeling you are surrounded with. Lavenderia is and Argentinian restaurant with food inspired by the owners childhood in that country. There are few items on the brunch menu but enough variety to satisfy all. I was not in the mood for something too heavy so I went for the omelette Aguacate but my friend went for the steak and egg.
Incredible, Auhtentic Argentinian. Not just Montreal's most authentic argentinian restaurant, but certainly one of our city's newest culinary gems. This quaint restaurants combines a trendy atmosphere with fun South American flare. The service is outstanidng. The food is incredible. A true must-have experience.
Try the quail. You won't regret it!
Delicious. I've had Argentinian BBQ all over Argentina and i think Lavanderia is as good if not better than what you can find in Argentina & u dont have to leave mtl to get it...
A welcome new addition to Montreal!. Simply said: incredible food, great ambiance, authentic and a unique experience...
(Also some seriously addictive chimichurri -- I may have overdosed!)
Lavanderia was opened by THE chef Antonio Park just a few months ago- a chef who has managed to create a name for himself in a city saturated with restaurants. Why all the hype? Because he knows how to bring a unique flare and story to the food served at his restaurants and you could literally taste his passion for what he does. Park, which has been visited by the likes of Katy Perry and Neil Patrick Harris, and where you could find P.K. Subban on just about any given day is located right next door- close enough so that Antonio Park could make his way between the restaurants within seconds! The restaurant took a different route than most in terms of décor- brightly lit and almost tropical feeling, rather than the usual dim and romantic. I loved it. The bar (where we sat) was set under a large tree, and menu items and art were hanging on the walls by clothes pins- a nice touch going along with the theme of the restaurant (Lavanderia translates to Laundromat from Spanish- Park grew up living in his family's Lavanderia in Argentina where they would prepare Argentinian specialties with ingredients from their yard). The walls are white, but the space still manages to feel warm. We ordered a Pineapple cocktail and a grapefruit and chili cocktail...at this point I was convinced it was summer in Montreal. Our seats at the bar gave us a direct view into the kitchen where we watched chefs grilling seafood and meat. A sweet escape from winter. What We Ordered A delicious and comforting muscle soup in a coconut broth with carrots, corn, and other vegetables. A great start to the meal! The soup was followed by a tasty appetizer of Queso Fundido Chorizo- melted cheeses and chorizo served with flat corn bread. Next up- a grilled calamari with capers, tangy peppers (I don't remember what they were called, but they were absolutely delicious), and sun dried tomatoes.

Just next door of his original restaurant, Chef Antonio Park opens Lavanderia where he shares his childhood memories and showcases the best of South-American cuisine - asado, ceviches, empanadas, chorizos, tamales, etc...
The menu consists of a mishmash of classic dishes from different regions of South America and Mexico. Once the order is made, we were offered three freshly made condiments to complement our meal - chimichurri, chimol and chipotle...
