Review Park Restaurant - Westmount

Joseph Abou-Ghazaly
Nice place, well decorated and friendly staff! The drink were great! The shrimp tempura were over breaded and the sushi were very well presented but the taste was average, choices were very limited! Price vs quality is not adequate! Desert of the chef was good!

Everything about our dinner here was delightful. The food was delicious, the waitstaff super attentive, the 90s soundtrack - like perfect. Visiting from NYC, we had high expectations going in and all of them were met. Our photos don't really do the food justice, but here they are anyway. We'd be interested in checking out his take on Korean South American food!

Great authentic Japanese with really differentiated sushi experience. It had been 2 years since being in Japan and this reminded me very much of experiences in Tokyo. The food was fantastic. The service was also quite good for the duration of our meal.

Everything about our dinner was delightful. The waiters are incredibly attentive, there’s a 90s/latin playlist in the background and a great atmosphere. We ordered a floral sake to drink and it made for a perfect pairing with the food. We had the Sushi platter menu for 3 people which included 15 nigiris, a lot of different types of sashimi and maki. The food is so flavourful and the quality of the fish is outstanding. It is fresh, tasty and acclaimed for a good reason! It also included a miso soup and edamame. For a high quality, incredible sushi experience, Park will surpass your expectations. I also recommend trying their desserts. They are unique and the flavours simply marry so well together, it was an amazing culinary experience!

The fish they serve is good quality. Just the sushi is not traditional. Very fusion based with a lot of sauces on the maki. We got the sushi platter for 2. It's mostly sashimi with a few maki and nigiri pieces. Just wish they had more starch options to eat with all that sashimi other than edamame. Overall good quality ingredients. I'm just not into fusion based cuisine.

The food is out of this world! Hands down best japanese cuisine in all of Montreal. I've had both the tasting menu and sushi platter. It's hard to choose between the two. It's obviously pricey, but you get your moneys worth. I never leave unsatisfied!

Came here for my birthday and it was a great choice! The fish was super fresh ,which i feel is hard to find in Montreal, and the drinks super flavourful and unique. Not on the cheap side but worth every bite!

Need to get a reservation well in advance for Friday/Saturday easy to book on Open table. Small dining room with great ambiance and decor and outdoor seating. We had great service and we got the tasting menu that had 5 dishes for 115$ each plus taxes. Each course was highly inventive with combinations, looked and tasted great. Loved the balance of taste and different textures. One of the courses was sushi, that were so fresh they melted in your mouth. I am a dessert fiend and I was very pleased with the passion fruit, mango, pineapple dessert with amazing homemade sesame crackers. Often in restaurants desserts are overlooked and it definitely wasn't at Park it stood up to the standards set by the 4 courses that came before it again with a beautiful look, balance of texture and taste without going into the overly sweet. Definitely a great place for a special night or to indulge in great cuisine. It was also surprisingly easy to find street parking on a Friday night but that might have been luck. We will return for sure.

The food is excellent, no doubt, but the service is very, very disappointing for such a hefty price tag! Six of us went to celebrate a birthday. Four of us took the 115 $ 6-service tasting menu and two ordered à la carte dishes. We all had cocktails followed by wine. The people ordering à la carte were never served at the same time as the people having the tasting menu; they were served between tasting dishes every time! So we never all ate at the same time (I am not talking about a 5 minute delay, here, I am talking about a 20 minutes delay between the à la carte dishes being served and one of the many tasting course being served). The waiter also forgot to tell us in which order to eat one of the tasting course. He never picked up the empty cocktail glasses from the table; we had to hand them to him to be rid of them. The service was very slow (we'd only had two of the six tasting courses after 1 h 30 min - good way to make us get more wine...). So even if these were possibly the finest sushis I've eaten in Mtl, when I go to a fine restaurant and willingly spend this much money on a meal, I expect an impeccable experience all around, and that includes an excellent service. Unfortunately, all six of us were left rather disheartened by our experience, considering our bill, at Park.

Excellent food! Very tasty and beautifully presented! We enjoyed the music as well (80's and 90's classics). Tried the tasting menu 5 servings and it was delightful. And I really appreciate the attention to my dislike of spicy and shrimp; they modified a dish and it was delicious. Pricey but worth it

Miss every single piece from what I had at Park. So fresh and delicious! I had recommended this place to colleague who doesn't eat anything from the ocean But... He had enjoyed with lots of choices and was really satisfied with food and service. Must go place in Montreal!

I have been going to Park since its opening and it keeps exceeding my expectations every single time. The magic of this restaurant first lies in the passion of everyone working there. Everyone in the kitchen has such a wonderful synergy and care so much for every plate coming out to the customer. Every waiter always makes the service so personnalized and warm, it just makes you want to come back every time. Of course, the quality of the ingredients is beyond stellar, the combination of flavour and texture, the techniques used and the presentation just make every plate absolutely so unbelievable in every sense. It is even more impressive how they quickly got back to their feet after the recent unfortunate events and even got the place more gorgeous than ever! Congratulations to the whole team and warm thanks to Chef Antonio Park for making every visit filled with excitement and emotions!

It’s an idyllic day in the beautiful province of Québec as we head to dine at one of Montreal’s finest restaurants. It’s my final night in Montréal and it’s quite the signature way to finish my time in this beautiful city. Opting for cocktails to start; my friend selects the Patrón & Lime while I reach for the more complex Osaka Sour. We admire the décor of the place which is so zen, specially the stars hanging from the ceiling; it has the hallmarks of an open skies feel.

Park restaurant has earned a spot on my "best of Montréal" list.<br/><br/>We went for the weekend brunch, since I believed an asian brunch would be a great experience. I was right!<br/><br/>We deviated from the menu that was handed to us and decided to go with a six-service tasting menu after speaking to the waitress.<br/><br/>We were really impressed with every dish. I must admit there was way too much food for a brunch and we took some of it home, also this menu was 70$ per person. For a special occasion this was perfect. Cocktails were excellent too!

My first visit and definitely not the last. The plating and freshness of all the ingredients is what this restaurant is all about. Every bite of sushi was balanced and refined. Stick with the sushi if you're going there. We also had the decomposed salad for two people (and could have served more), and although all the ingredients came from the chef's own farm, I would have used my second course for another sushi/sashimi plate. We had 6:30 pm reservations for Park on a Friday. Upon arrival the restaurant is bright as it has glass wall. We leave our coats outside and proceed into the restaurant. The first contact could be improved as we had to wait a bit to get the attention of the hostess; the restaurant is small and is packed with table so you have to wait in the middle of the restaurant. The hostess finally directs us to our seats which are by the bar. There are two bars in the restaurant, a sushi bar and an alcohol bar and we are seated at the latter, I asked the hostess if we can be moved to the sushi bar but unfortunately it is not possible.

Finally had the time to try the omakase tasting at this restaurant And it was pretty good although a bit up and down with regards to the courses<br/><br/>The sushi and maki were the best courses, in particular the nigiri was very fresh and the cuts of the fatty tuna otoro was sublime. The oysters were the best I've eaten in montreal too<br/><br/>The dessert was decent, not bad but nothing to rave abt.<br/><br/>The soup and scallops were where they lost points, soup wasn't that great and the scallops wasnt seared well, if these were better could the meal would've been top marks<br/><br/>Staff was excellent and attentive and very accommodating<br/><br/>Overall a great experience although recommend going a la carte

When it comes to food, presentation, smell and taste are the important elements to determine the flavour of food.<br/>The presentation here is wonderful. Every single dish came out very attractive and beautiful. <br/>The smell........since most of the dishes were combined with raw fish, so didn't have smell.<br/>The taste was very disappointed. We had omakase. We started with Thai coconut soup with noodle, which was very strong taste to start a meal. Then we had our second dish which I forgot but nothing remarkable. The third dish was nigiri sushi. The house made sauce was overpowered. I wasn't able to taste the freshness and flavour of the fish at all. Also I did not enjoy the half cooked salmon, it was very mushy. I think it would be better without using a torch to "cook" the salmon UNLESS the salmon is very fatty. The fourth dish, my bf had a Kobe beef "pasta" and I had a sashimi with ponzu sauce. My bf didn't like the Kobe beef at all, the taste was just ok. And for my sashimi, they were ok, I did not like the idea sashimi with ponzu sauces. Ponzu sauce did not help to emphasize the flavour of the sashimi. Also the fish was tasteless. Then we had a raspberry cake with white chocolate mousse and caramel pop corn for dessert. The cake was very dry,the popcorn was taste like old popcorn but the white chocolate mousse was very delicious and elegant. <br/>We seated at the sushi bar which we both very enjoyed watching the chef to prepare all the dishes. Unfortunately, we saw something that it should not happened in a restaurant. There were a container filled with water in front of the chef with a couple of big spoon inside. They used the spoon to pick up the food then put it back to the water container which is very usual for a restaurant. But one of the chef used the spoon to taste the food then putted it back to the water container. (I assume if it was used to taste the food in the mouth, maybe you shouldn't put the spoon into the water container)<br/>Overall, we both did not enjoy it at all. But if you are someone do not like the flavour of raw fish, this is the restaurant that you might like. But I am a big fan of raw fish and Japanese food, this is definitely not a good or fusion Japanese food that I will go again. But I have to say the customer services here was excellent.

Went in with friend during lunch time without reservation, first we were told the wait would be 15min+, but luckily our host arranged a table for the two of us. We ordered Asian salad, sashimi entry, park lunch and a bento box. Service was very good, considering how many were eating there, the speed they brought us food is very reasonable, and the raw fish were one of the freshest I've had. The salad, on the contrary was somewhat lacking. Besides the presentation, you could probably have that in a low-end Asian restaurant. However, if you are into fusion style cuisine and fresh fish, this is the place to go!

Definitely the freshest fish I've ever had. From what I've understood of Chef Park is that he has a private import seafood license which guarantees sustainable, line caught fish brought in daily. What a concept. I've been to Japan and didn't get the opportunity to try some of the fish I had today. Great fusion of taste from Japan, South America and Korea. Really innovative stuff. Park wasn't there today but his stellar crew of chefs represented well! Definitely worth bringing a food enthusiasts if you're looking to impress!

Best Japanese Restaurant in the city!. A few weeks ago marked our 1st year anniversary! I can’t believe we’ve been married for a year already…time truly flies. To celebrate the occasion, we decided to treat ourselves to Park Restaurant and their tasting menu (omakase) as it’s been on our to-do list for a long time.<br/>There were two types of omakase: 5-course for $95 or 6-course for $115. We didn’t know there were two types prior to arrival, but we decided to go all out because it was our anniversary and all :). The full 6-course omakase gives you all the types of sushi in the house (compared to the 5-course) and you also get maki as well. I’m not 100% sure on the differences on the omakase, so ask your server.

It was challenging getting reservations around peak time (7pm). On the up side that is a good indicator that this restaurant is doing something right. The service was great and atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant is not strictly a sushi restaurant and their selection is quite slim. We still opted to go for sushi and were pleasantly surprised. The portions are very generous and the taste is above average. Already reserved for an encore. Recommend you reserve a few days in advance if you plan on dining around 7pm.

Worst sushi Resto I have ever been.<br/>Everything salty.<br/>I'm not going to recommend this salty place. I was wondering they just wanna cover the un-fresh fish by using soy sauce. <br/><br/>I've been a lot sushi place. The worst one is here finally I found. <br/><br/>I would recommend sushi place if u guys wanna get real, good, tasty sushi.<br/><br/>Maiko sushi, more traditional<br/>RYU sushi, modern style. <br/>Google it guys. See review. <br/>Best sushi in montreal area. <br/><br/>

Finally made it to Park Restaurant (@Restaurant_PARK) back on our April Montreal trip, have been dying to new Montreal Celebrity Chef Antonio Park (@ChefAntonioPark) restaurants. We opted for the $105 Omakase Tasting Menu. Since there was 5 of us, we wanted to be able to chat a bit, so we opted for a table instead of my usual preferred seat at the sushi bar (I just love watching people cook). Executive Chef Antonio Park was a Korean born in Argentina, trained in the Culinary Institute of Japan and having work at restaurants all over the world including New York's three Michelin Star Masa. Oh did I mention his amazing instagram photo of all the sashimi and nigiri looks amazing, so you know how excited I was.

Fresh, interesting food and a nice break from the French dominant food on our trip. Room was simple, lively and packed when we arrived but we managed to steal a spot at the bar for a few snacks. Food was excellent but service was just okay - part of a dining experience is about connecting with the staff. I would still recommend for sushi lovers as everything was excellent.

VERY VERY GOOD BUT VERY VERY PRICEY. My boyfriend and I decided to finally go to Park last night for supper to celebrate his birthday. After reading recent reviews I was a little skeptical - I am very glad I took the chance anyways! We started our evening with a cocktail each, the lychee saketini and the kimchi ceasar, both which were good but nothing to rave about. We then decided to take a bottle of sake since you can't have the full Japanese experience without some sake! After looking over the chalkboard menu, we agreed that opting for the omakase tasting menu would be the best bang for our buck. We had a 6 course meal for $105 each and let me say that the food was EXCEPTIONALLY good! We started off with a surf and turf soup which was lovely, and had a nice kick to it. the next course was deep fried prawn which melted in your mouth. Then came sushi time, JUST WOW! We had the nigiris, the seasonal makis, and the sashimi dishes, all which bursted with unique flavors without taking away from the freshness of the fish. Finally we had dessert, which was some type of lemon tart, fabulous! Overall our experience at Park was great, the ambiance is nice, and the servers are friendly and attentive, the bill on the other hand... HOLY SMOKES! Understandly high because of the bottle of sake and the cocktails, but $400 (including tip) for two was a tad steep. Defientely not a restaurant I'd go to on a regular night out, save it for a special occasion!

If you're looking for authentic japanese sushi, this is not the place to go. However, if you are keeping your mind open about your "sushi" experience for the night, I am almost certain you will enjoy a dinner at Park. <br/><br/>I really enjoyed their nigiri, however, the sashimi felt a bit confusing because of all of the different sauces. Though one can simply opt to just dip it in soy sauce, I think more people are inclined to try these additional sauces out if they are provided. I don't think all of them were successful pairings with the sashimi.<br/><br/>Other than the nigiri, the rolls are so, so delicious. My main criticism is not regarding the food though, it's regarding the washroom situation. They do not have any restrooms within the restaurant, and you have to walk outside into the hallway of the condo/apartment building and use the lobby washroom which took away from the whole fancy dining experience at Park.

Simply Amazing. This tiny resto is a real gem! A must!!!!<br/>But you need to reserve ahead of time!!!!

Waited 1 hour For Wrong Order. They messed up my order for the teryaki beef which came after 1 hour. Menu was on the wall and pretty small. Ordered the two special makis, both were basic did not really enjoy them that much. I'm a huge sushi fan and eat all kinds but this really didn't do it for me. Pricey too.

Worst culinary experience of my life. Never been s taken advantage of in my life.<br/>440$ for 2 people no toro.<br/>whatever you do don't let anyone offer you something......i was offered a nice dish thinking it was on the house....<br/>they charged me 80$ extra....<br/>ever felt so taken advantage of in my life......<br/>with tip 520$ no toro, no blue fin, don't be fooled by their instagram, it's sham.<br/>if you want real japanese from an honourable person go to juni.
Organic-V
Not great, but good. Amazing service despite the place being absolutely packed. Food was good but far from being exceptional in any way , for this reason I'd say it's slightly overpriced. A good experience over all.

GOD AWFUL - stay away!. I'm beyond shocked and honestly disturbed by any positive reviews on this place. Wanting to treat ourselves and indulge, my friend and I decided on Parc over various other sushi places this one evening. We opted for the tasting menu, highly recommended by the staff. The first course should have been the first sign to cancel the order, it was massive bowl of cream of broccoli soup that was unseasoned and tasteless. While I don't doubt the quality of the fish, the nigiri all tasted the same. The maki roll was multiple layers of mush, no texture contrast by any means and may as well have been baby food. The waitress was painful to watch and listen to, stuttering and stumbling on her words clearly without a clue what she was talking about. One much needed bottle of wine later and out comes our $400 bill. Could have gone to cuba for 3 nights!!<br/>This place is pretentious. Ambiance is nothing special. Overpriced. Food sucks. Service was slow and staff inexperienced.<br/>I've never been so disappointed with a dining experience in Montreal. There are so many fantastic sushi options, go elsewhere, definitely.
Bayanassi
Overpriced for the quality and taste. You would expect it to be so amazing for the huge price tag given. However local sushi a volonte places have better taste and quality. I was disappointed.
Michael Mammarella
Overpriced nonsense. What should I be comparing this too? Other sushi? Sushi palace is better. I guess my palate is not refined enough to enjoy about 12 pieces of sushi/sashimi for $100. You expect at least one bite to be wow but it wasn't. Too many other good restaurants. We left angry lol. Seriously.

Finally made it! ;(. Let me first start by saying I LOVE SUSHI and have been enjoying it for 32 years now. I really hate to say this..... and I'm sorry, but the sushi and maki roll I had today was very disappointing ;( the rice is everything when it comes to sushi and this rice was UNDER COOKED and TASTELESS. wasn't seasoned and fell apart when I tried to dip it in what they call Soya sauce.... another disappoitment ;( there are other items besides sushi on the menu that I haven't tried but if they can't even get the rice right well I'm not really that interested to go back and get disappointed again.

Atmosphere fun Service: sti.... Atmosphere fun<br/>Service: stiff and so slow (three hours)<br/>Food: some great ingredients but huge let downs like the under cooked rice<br/>Overall for the price: avoid or come and be disapointed

By far my favorite Asian restaurant in Montreal. The quality is just amazing! If you like quality food, then this place is for you. The service is also exceptional. I cannot wait to try Antonio Park's upcoming restaurants. He is definitely Montreal's top three chiefs.

Lots of blogger talk, little delivery. Maybe critics and bloggers are getting the privilege of sitting at the chef's sushi bar (which you're only allowed to do if you take the full tasting menu), learning something that we average Joes are not. Service was unimpressive, bordering on parochial. Food wasn't much better, with the Maki so chock full of obtrusive extras that the renowned, privately imported fish seemed like a complete afterthought. Asian salad seemed it would be light and fresh but quickly became mushy... certainly not anything Mandy's Salad Bar up the street or Miyamoto's take-out sushi next door can't contend with. On the whole, an overrated and disappointing experience. Won't be going back.
Joemckenzie89
Average meal. Went here last night with my partner hoping to get some nice sushi. We used to live in Japan so we just wanted some traditional Japanese fish and rice - no fluff. We spoke to the waitress and told her what we wanted and she said they could definitely do that and the best option would be the tasting menu. The 2nd course was a tomato salad with burrata, which was nice but not what we had asked for. Then there was a plate of nigiri. We were really impressed with the fish, it tasted like good quality. The garnishes of jalapeno etc on top weren`t what we wanted again but they weren`t too bad. But what really let it down was the rice. Rice is the focal point of most Japanese meals. Sushi is rice WITH fish. At Park it just wasn`t cooked properly. Was too hard. Amateur mistake. Apprentice sushi chefs spend approx their first 3yrs just learning how to prepare the rice properly in real sushi restaurants so not sure what was going on here.<br/>Fourth course was the worst of the night - an enormous maki roll covered in all kinds of s@$*. When you have such good seafood, don`t hide it behind all this other stuff! We couldn`t eat it.<br/>Next course was a bowl of sashimi with a dressing. This was nice because the flavour of the fish was not screwed around with too much.<br/>Dessert came next and it was bad. Supposed to be shortbread but it tasted like biscuits from a packet. Just some nice strawberries would have sufficed.<br/>The bill was just over $300 without tip. Way over priced for such a disappointing meal. You can`t charge this amount and not be able to cook rice. Plastic plates also was very tacky. And this is the first place I have had a tasting menu that didn`t include tea at the end.<br/>Will not return to Park, this is sushi for children and Canadians.

Excellent experience overall. Food is great, the ambiance and service is friendly.

Best sushi restaurant in Montreal. I've had sushi in the best restaurants in Hawaii, Vegas and San Francisco and Park ranks up there with the best!<br/>The service is excellent, but the star is the sushi. Chef Antonio never fails to deliver an amazing omekase and every bite is more flavourful than the next. The fish is the freshest you will find in Montreal and Chef's special touch of flavour on each bite is amazing!<br/>We try to go at least once or twice a month and never get tired of the menu.<br/>A definite "must visit" if in Montreal!
The_crystal_clouds
Bdjuf
The best sushi in Montreal. This is hands down my favorite sushi (and filet mignon w/ foie gras) in Montreal. He also serves mouth melt-in-your-mouth Toro fish and Wagyu beef on occasion. <br/><br/>I also recommend that you sit at the bar if you are less than 3 people in order to see how everything is prepared. A treat for your eyes as well as your mouth. <br/><br/>Highly recommended to anyone looking to experience a special meal!

Favorite sushi resto in Montreal. Everytime I go to Park, I get to experience something new, something different. No other restaurant I've been to can deliver that. Make sure you try the seared salmon sushi, it's out of this world! Omakase Omakase Omakase! :)

So happy to have you next door. I'm so happy that you chose to open up in Westmount! Park is the perfect spot for a lunch meeting, romantic dinner and did I mention the delicious market next door! I have had nothing but fantastic experiences and incredible dining every visit to Park. Antonio is a true class act, who goes out of his way to say hello and schmooze with my table every time he's around. It's awesome that one spot can have the best steak in the city, the freshest and most delicious sushi, an amazing wine and sake menu and nothing but the finest ingredients for everything in between. Keep up the amazing work boss.

Park Restaurant. I can't say enough how delicious & fresh the food at Park is, my family and friends are huge fans for many years and Chef Antonio's concern for sustainable fish is genuine and smart. Everyone should take the opportunity to watch this man work, it's like watching a magician work! Highly recommend this restaurant to all! Great ambiance and the best sushi & fish, hands down!

Price. I heard few bad reviews about the price at Park restaurant so I was little worried knowing my friend had made a reservation for her birthday dinner last night... BUT over all it cost me only $45...and I was very happy with my selection... I was pleased to see there was an a la carte menu as well not only Omakaze. I understand why people felt like their meal may have been a bit over priced it could be because they chose to go with the Chef selection. If you a foodie.... $ is not a issue. I will definitely try chef selection during my next visit. My favorite roll was the angus beef roll !!! I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND PARK!

Amazing Experience. When you walk in, you can tell people are there for one thing, that is the creations Mr. Park makes. Not only the presentation and the intricate way it lights up the plate, but the flavour and texture of all his items are great. He is a master of his craft and he incorporates many different styles. Exceptional food and service. A must if you go to Montreal!

Delicious!!! Great restaurant! I want to go back!

I can't wait to return!!!. This place sure did live up to the HYPE!!! I am a foodie who loves experiencing Asian cuisine. Last week I decided to venture to Park. I made a reservation one week ahead just to make sure. i arrived 15 mins early and was politely greeted by the host. What I found appealing about this place is the level of service I received from the Host - Waitress - the Chef...so passionate about their craft. The food was fresh and the taste was eloquently plated. i enjoyed this resto thoroughly and would highly recommend it to anyone...In fact I am sending some friends from Toronto next week... I can't wait to hear what they have to say...ALL GREAT I AM SURE :)

LEGENDARY SUSHI. I was among the 1st customers to eat at Park when it opened and cannot count how many times I've been back since. Words I've used to describe the experience of eating at Park to others....sublime, out of this world, spectacular. Simply saying that the food is "great" is like saying that The Stones are a good band, that Scorsese is a good director, the Da Vinci was a good painter - you get picture. Chef Antonio Park is a real master who puts his thousands of hours of experience into each dish that comes out of the kitchen. I can't make a recommendation on how to navigate the menu as I've never really looked at it. I always eat Omakase and have tried dishes there that I would never dare to elsewhere - and have never once been disappointed. The food is ULTRA fresh and often simply melts in your mouth. Antonio puts LOVE in every slice of the knife and expects the people who work with him to do the same. Go to Park if you are a discerning foodie, you won't be let down!!

Best Experience to date!. I travel constantly for work and spend most of my lunches and dinners in restaurants all over the world and I've gotta say that my experience at Park restaurant has been by far on my top 5 restaurant experiences ever! The service was incredible, I felt so welcomed and the food was out of control amazing! When I go to a sushi restaurant I usually trust the chefs recommendations and Chef Park blew my mind! The price was reasonable for the level of service and quality of food and I will definitely make Park one of my stable rotations of great restaurants. Highly recommend it! And they only serve sustainable fish which is a must for me!
Paul
This is a great culinary experience. Period. Chef Antonio Park is obsessive about the quality and freshness of his fish and is a master at creating unique combinations that will make your palate discover new horizons, all based on Antonio's unique background (Asia and South America). Examples: sashimi with Jalapeño or chimichurri, salmon slightly cooked with a maple syrup reduction and a hint of basil sauce, beets salad with wild mushrooms, and lots more! Some of his fish arrive acupunctured in order to ensure their freshness...<br/>I have been there many time and have NEVER been deceived. <br/>I have read a few posts that sound like bashing by ghost writers... Don't be fooled!!

Only Excellence. Park's wait staff greets u with warm smiles and accomodates instantly. The food comes in beautifully served and tasting even better. Park is one of those places where everything is done with love and the utmost of care.

Gathering. It's best sushi place ever. sushi is fresh and I get great services. I would definitely go back and recommend this restaurant this rest to my friends :)

Incredible. Park is my favorite of all time. I've know Antonio for years and everything he touches turns into gold or in this case incredible sushi. He is proud and should be about his sustainable tuna, not many can brag about that. Every plate is turned into an experience, a visual delight. I have never been disappointed after at least a dozen times in this restaurant, every time is just like the first, incredible !!

I came here for my birthday dinner two years ago and it was great. But I came here for lunch yesterday, the first thought that came to my mind after putting that piece of nigiri in my mouth was "What happened?" That nigiri got too much rice and it was under season. If I wanted to eat mediocre sushi like that, I can go to some chain store for their assembly line sushi. <br/><br/>If you are here for lunch, stick with the Bibimbap or the Yam Noodles. These are things that can only be cooked the day of and you know they are fairly fresh. You also get your money's worth at 13-15 $. We also had the bento. The bits and pieces that got into the lunch's bento were literally leftovers in some other form and fried to become your lunch. That was 17 $. The Park Lunch was 21 $ and was a sushi platter of old fish. You can tell because the fish color wasn't all that great and the maki was just some mushed up old fish disguised with more sauce. 4-5 $ to make those leftover platters and it costs the most.

Awful not worth it. I love JUNI and have been eating there for years. i tried Park as a friend invited me and was very disappointed. there is no place in montreal like juni

No!. We arrived and waited 30 minutes for our "reserved" table. After being seated and hearing the waiter explain the menu however, we were genuinely excited about eating there and thought the food would live up to the hype.<br/><br/>Turns out it doesnt.<br/><br/>The Asian Salad which came highly recommended by our waiter was a mountain of tasteless coselaw looking stuff. Had nothing Asian about it.<br/><br/>The Seasonal sushi role at almost $30 was also a failure. It was way too big and the fish inside it almost seemed minced. More importantly, this roll, that we were told to eat without soy sauce to "enjoy the flavours", had no taste. All Hype no substance. <br/><br/>Next up was the $40 12 piece nigiri that our waiter instructed us to eat "clockwise" for the progression of flavour ( see a pattern?). Again, very underwhelming taste despite all the bells and whistles.<br/><br/>Overall while we were full from what we ate, we did not enjoy ANYTHING on the menu. The Chef's fish is very, very fresh. Yet he doesn't seem able to create any FLAVOUR. At such a high price, I recommend avoiding Park at all costs. The pretentious attitude didn't help either.

Amazing!. Everytime we go to Park the food is amazing. The quality is out of this world and the taste never fails. We recently went for the Omakase (tasting) menu and were beyond impressed. We were lucky enough to sit at the sushi bar and got to watch Chef Anotnio cook up a storm. We really enjoyed engaging with him and watching him prepare all of the sushi. The restaurant was extremely accommodating to our dietary restrictions and made sure that each course was really to our liking. When we thought it was done, we were wrong the courses kept coming and each one was better than the next. Although it is pricey, its worth every penny. You will not find fish as fresh and as high quality as at Park.

Quality & diversity. Been to Park restaurant a few times and every single time has been a delight! I always go for the omakase menu - starts with a soup and appetizer! Then comes the sushi which makes the whole menu so worth it, diversity of fish all fresher than the next one! My favourites remain the otoro and uni! Ends with a hot plate which is excellent... Overall experience is amazing! The staff is also warm and welcoming!

I had been many times to Park for lunch and a couple of times for dinner. I had friends in from Europe who wanted good sushi. We decided on the chef's tasting menu. I never felt so embarrassed when we were served with our bill. It came to $1400 + tax and tip, for 5 people.<br/>Only 3/5 of us had a cocktail and we had ordered 1 small bottle of saki.<br/>Thus no one can claim it was the alcohol. We were never told what the price is per person. It was not listed anywhere. We have all dined at 2 and 3 Michelin star restaurants , in Paris and london, and no bill have ever amounted to this ludicrous amount. To say the least, I was disgusted and felt ripped off. Buyer beware.

Worth every penny. Apart from being seated right by the front door entrance and getting cold breezes everytime someone came and out of the restaurant, our experience at PARK was without a doubt one of the best. Everything we ate was out-of-this-world delicious and the service very polite and helpful. The oysters we had as an entrée were amazing, the chef's choice nigiri and sashimi accompagnied by various sauces were all delicious. You could taste the amazing quality of the fish and the respect with which it had been treated. It is expensive, but I would go back to PARK anyday in a heartbeat without hesitation.

Yummy, healthy food but pricey. Beautifully presented & great flavors. Loved the deconstructed salad for 2, the seasonal maki & the teriyaki beef rice bowl. Did not really like the salmon rice bowl. But all in all, a great experience.

Avoid this restaurant. Horrible experience! Horrible food! Super rude service!<br/>We went with my husband and some friends on a Friday evening, hoping that this "hype" restaurant (with a lot of good reviews) will meet all our expectations.<br/>Although the decor is quite nice, this restaurant lacks all the details: fancy decor with poor details like seats that move when people at the table NEXT to you seat down, it was cold, and they don't give a printed copy of the menu so you have to walk over the kitchen to be able to see the menu.<br/>But those details are not the worst part.<br/><br/>The service was super rude, very arrogant although let's be honest, there is nothing to be arrogant about.<br/>Food is overrated, and you don't get what you pay for. For example, I took the Jap Chai (Korean noodles) with an extra -organic- roasted chicken which was super dry and without any flavor. The noodles came with 2 small slices of bad quality mushrooms (the ones you find in a can) and 2 slices of zuchinis. Seriously?!!! And you pay almost $30 for this dish?!<br/><br/>At the end, fwe payed $90 for 2 dishes (and not the most expensive ones) and a Sapporo.<br/><br/>I contacted them to complain about the service and they never even took the time to reply.<br/>We will NEVER go back there.

Not so great. The negative<br/>The service is inexperienced ,the place is loud. I had what was called on the menu (short braised ribs) which were not short braised ribs but long over-boiled chewee then a little braised, ribs with hardly any good to meat eat at $35.00<br/>The positive<br/>The catch of the day, my wife's choice, (not priced on the menu ) at $41,00 was excellent but greatly over priced. The green salad was outstanding the green tea ice cream was very good and so was the miso I had to start with.<br/>the wine was fairly priced by the bottle but exorbitant by the glass (a U.S.chardonnay at $15.00 a glass) <br/>It is a good thing for this trendy restaurant to be in Westmount otherwise it would not survive.<br/>I will not go back Jean Page

Sushi is my favorite dish so I have literally tried all the sushi restaurants in Montreal. This is the best one! So good it reminds me of japan sushi! Tell the chef to serve you whatever he wants and enjoy!

Expansive, but totally worth it! Never had such fresh sushis and every plate comes with the utmost attention to details.<br/><br/>Bad reviewers must have thought they would stuff their faces. They should learn how to enjoy their meals...

Waaaay over priced! Walked out of there waanting more. Maybe it's the tasting menu? Did not meet my expectation at all overall disappointed... However I have to say it was good quality ingredients. Next time I will order only sashimi and nigiri, maki rolls... If there's a next time...<br/>

My first time at Park. We.... My first time at Park.<br/> We decided to go for the 2nd service on a Friday. There is approximately 60 seats. The ambiance was very warm and welcoming. We got seated right away on a booth. Impressive booth that can accomodate to 8people. Huge! Like it.<br/>We finally start off the night with a round of cocktails wich were very nice. After a couple of minutes the waitress came to explain to us the concept and menu of the restaurant.<br/>NO 'a la carte' sushi menu!! It's all about trusting the chef's choice. Really nice touch that removes the headache of looking through 30differents kinds of sashimi nigiri maki to choose. I like!<br/>We dediced to go for the Omakase menu which means the chef's tasting menu, which was suggested by our waitress as it is a good way to discover the cuisine. <br/>We started of with a red miso seafood soup. Very nice and delicate flavours. <br/>After that we had roasted scallop served with pan seared foie gras and bruxelle sprouts sauteed! Wow! Amazing! Love it! Followed by the nigiri course. Oh what can i say? It's a work of art! The fish? Extremely fresh! And every garnish brings a nice little touch, not overpowering. Wow! I fell in love with Park's sushi!<br/>As main we got a really nice piece of 1855 black angus tenderloin.. Wow it's the best steak i've ever had in my life. Juicy! Tender! Flavourful! Amazing!<br/><br/>The waitress was very attentive to details. She suggested a very nice wine to go with meal. She took really good care of us. Always making sure that we were all good. <br/><br/>We love it! It may be our first time! But it's not our last! Get ready to see us often.

I hate rolls prepared in advance<br/>Same week at kaizen an japon having I was hopping things will be different in park. Looks I forgot park worked before at kaizen he brought same bad habit. <br/>The food was mediocre <br/> No question he knows his job I presume my food was prepared by 20 years old assistant beside him <br/>Please don't take your customers for granted mr Park
KG
Good food, bad head chef. A work colleague and I ate there for lunch on June 28. The food was a bit overpriced but the service staff made up for it. Our waitress, Michelle, was able to explain their food better than most servers I have encountered including a detailed description of the ingredients. <br/><br/>When we finished work for the day we decided to stop in and ask if they could call us a taxi since it was raining (and we're not locals). Chef Park decided that we didn't ask nice enough, so they didn't call them. I'm sure he would not have been so rude if there were other customers there (it was empty). He has terrible customer service, but I suppose most people will not be interacting with the head chef when they go for a meal.

On y retournera.

Just a few words: average food, overly expensive, bad service.

Very little to say - it is worth its reputation. As good as Takara, better in some areas. MB rating 9!

Taste left to be desired. Went there with a group of 4. Ambiance was nice, waitress was very nice, music was fun. I've heard a lot about Park, and was hoping for the best.<br/>As a ain course we focused on the sushi. The fish was very fresh and the display was inviting. However, it seemed that from beginning to end, from appetizer to dessert the main fail mark was flavor.<br/><br/>I can appreciate, the quality, and artistry - however in the end, if the taste is not inviting, what's the point? <br/>Would I go again? probably not <br/>Would I recommend it? maybe....

Another typical korean operated japanese restaurant. Food wasnt impressed at all with all the prices.<br/>its funny how so many koreans put the word 'korean cuisine' along with their japanese restaurant title which mainly deals with 99% of Japanese food and 1 % of korean food. always using japanese food for trying to advertise unpopular korean cuisines.

Overrated bad service!!. I have dined at Park on a few occasions and overall i find it inconsistent and highly overrated. I find the waitresses always try and push the omakase menu which always leaves me hungry. Once we ordered a filet mignon for the table because we were still hungry after the omakase menu and they charged an additional $75 for a steak..... yes $75 for a steak. I find the service is lacking for an establishment that charges so much. I did notice however that other tables were receiving good service and visits from the chef but maybe that is because they eat there frequently or live up the hill. I dont mind paying more money for better food and fresher fish but service must come with it.

Poisson frais+sushis originaux!.

Very fresh. This place is definetly pricey but the fish is extremely fresh. Went for lunch and it cost me nearly 30$ and I left hungry and wanting more. One of the better sushi spots in town for sure, I appreciate the fact that the menu is only comprised of whats fresh from that day.
Logicm
Stay away from the tasting menu. Well over price for what it is! Beside some nigiri made with some catch of the day nothing special. Some of the nigiri offered were good but it is not enough to make me to wanna to come back. Further more we cannot choose the nigiri or sushi selection it is all up to the cook. For a fish and sushi lover like me this is not acceptable. All the food was ok but with a price tag of 110$ per person with one sake bottle it is so not worth it.
Alex
Fantastic!!. I can say without a doubt that Park Restaurant offers one of the best lunches in town. I had their tasting menu which is called Omakase (I found out it means leave it to you in Japanese). That's exactly what I did and I definitely have no regrets about my decision. The five course meal was outstanding. The lobster appetizer was great. It consisted of poached lobster with sauteed white asparagus, slow cooked egg and romesco sauce. The nigiri platter prepared by Chef Park was mind blowing; there were at least 7 or 8 different types of fish, all of them tasted extremely fresh. I was told by the server that they come in fresh every morning...no wonder! I also had seared duck breast and a chocolate souffle which were also delicious. <br/><br/>I cant say enough good things about my experience there and I would suggest it to everyone. The service was top notch, atmosphere was great and food was excellent.

Amazing night @Park. Best restaurant in Montreal ! Perfect for the passionate sushi lover or the first timer, the omakase menu will take you to heaven! If you have a chance to sit by the sushi bar do not hesitate; the extremely talented and charming chef Park will gladly share his passion of the freshest quality ingredients and sustainable fish with you. We had an amazing epicurean experience at Park and are looking forward to our next feast! Thank you for choosing Montreal Chef Antonio Park you are simply the greatest!!!!!!

Unconventionally perfect. In every way.. Before I begin, a few words of advice to all that continue to read any further...an evening at Park is not for the faint at heart.<br/><br/>They say the way into a man's heart is through his stomach. Park made me realize there's more to it than just that.<br/><br/>Most of you will automatically assume that I am referring to the possibility of a dining experience that will impose the kind of food you would never imagine eating. That's not the case at all. For those who are familiar with chef Antonio Park and everything he brings to the plate, you already know that above and beyond anything else, quality and freshness is what he's all about. Nothing on his menu is absurd or even questionable. Astonishing would be a more suitable term and it's all in the way he prepares and presents it. Impossible is not a word in his vocabulary. No matter what. <br/><br/>An elderly gentleman at the table adjacent to ours had never dreamed of EVER eating anything raw in his life. Upon a much eager and desperate recommendation from his wife, he decided to come in an try the Kalbi braised short ribs. Right before he placed his order, he saw a plate of sushi get delivered to a table near by. <br/><br/>He has yet to try those ribs. <br/><br/>That being said, food as exquisite as that, requires a delivery equally passionate as the work Park puts into it. Having been there several times myself, I have had the pleasure of being served by the warmest of staff members in the business. Friendly, kind and humble, these cats know what's up. If they make you wait, I guarantee they'll make it worth your while. Quirky and down to earth, each poses their own unique style of service and their attention to detail and extensive knowledge of what you're about to devour, takes the whole experience to a different level. Not only do they know their menu, they LOVE their menu. <br/><br/>Goes to say a whole lot about a place. Wouldn't you say?<br/><br/>My hat's off to Park and the whole staff. Can't compare you to any other and it get's better each time.

Stay away!. Dreadful service, very ordinary food. 2 requests to see the manager resulted in no action.

Started rocky but finished ahead of high expectations! <br/>The minute my boyfriend walked the service was fantastic, my only critic would be that I waited 20mins for him and thus I waited 20mins for service however the Bussboy never let my water go below half and the minute my boyfriend sat down cocktails orders were taken and the menu was explained. The wine, suggested by the Maitre D in accordance with our taste, was perfect. The food was EXCELLENT!! Just go! <br/>I had very high expectations going in, my boyfriend is hard to impress but this restaurant blew us away. <br/>Great job ladies and gents!
Gulletinquisitor
TOTALLY OVERRATED!!!. Yeah, I had the dismal omakase at park with high expectations since it is in the neighborhood. Point being: Failure!<br/><br/> The fish, overall, was rather fresh compared to the banality of this (microsphere's) offerings; however, the fusion concoctions just menstruated(for lack of better term) over the passable to sub par dreck that was on the menu that night. <br/><br/>I have been longing for an authentic sushi ya in mtl for a long time, but unfortunately, park does not fit the applicable description. <br/><br/>the chef purports himself as someone serving authentic japanese edo mae style nigiri, yet obviously serves up some sort of korean/latin/american fusion that just doesn't mesh.<br/><br/>As i stated earlier, some of the fish( such as the acupunctured tai was fresh) its just a melange of horrendous fusion masquerading as authentic nigiri. And the sauces!!! My God, the sauces!!!! the nigiri is supposed to be as pure as possible to showcase the star( fish). Yet truffle oil is trounced all over the offerings. So not japanese!!!! In essence, no Jiro here!<br/><br/>And most importantly of all, the rice did not have the proper consistency! It was far too grainy! Almost to the point of being dull and chewy. Which is unacceptable!!<br/><br/>Make up your mind already!!! Japanese or asian/nor amer fusion?? Take for example the makis: A sushi(esque) extremely salty foie gras shavings abomination= DISGUSTING!! If the chef wasn't bragging all night to patrons of how traditional his sushi was, I wouldn't be so inclined to offer such a contradictory review. <br/><br/><br/><br/>Overall, there are better offerings in this city, which are 1/3rd the price; let alone lesser known omakases in more reputable (sushi) recognized cities, that are approx half the price, yet twice the quality.<br/><br/>In any case, I guess it is back to Japan, NYC, Vancouver (etc)... for japanese offerings.

Best sushi lunch in town. Get the Park Lunch sushi platter. At $21, considering the freshness and quality of the fish, it's the best value your money can buy too!

Meh.. Went for dinner last night after hearing very good things. Had the tasting menu but substituted the veal main meal for maki rolls. The soup was good. The scallop appetizer was fine, nothing special. The nigiri was probably the best part because of the variation of flavors and the maki were fine but definitely not "the best in montreal" as I had read/heard. <br/>Tri Express has FAR better sushi if that is was part of the menu you are looking for.

Poor hospitality. The other night we walked into this restaurant at around 6:30 pm and asked to see the menu. The waiter who greeted us pointed to it on the wall. We did not have reservations and the restaurant was 90 percent empty. The waiter informed us that if we wanted a table we'd have to come back at 8 pm, as they were fully booked till then. We chose to leave and try to find another, more accommodating restaurant -- which isn't hard on a weeknight. On our way home, an hour later, we passed Victoria Park again. Yes, there were a few tables taken, but also a lot were empty. What happened? Why couldn't they have welcomed us? With such an inhospitable attitude, I don't think they'll be in business very long.

Simpe yet elegant brunch.. I had brunch here for the first time. a simple and short menu offering yogurt+granola, a kimchi blt, fish cake croissant sandwich, bibimbap (vegetarian or with additional grilled chicken or salmon), japchae. i was so impressed by the quality of ingredients, execution of perfectly cooked salmon, presentation is elegantly simple yet fancy. great weekend lunch for under 20$.<br/><br/>if you want to splurge an extra 10$ for dessert, order black sesame ice cream. even better: order the chef's dessert. on my visit, i got a watermelon strawberry granita with passion fruit mousse, cantaloupe gelée, red bean purée and candied pistachio. inventive and so delicious.

Excellent!. We tried Park after the great reviews here. Went for an early 6h30 dinner. The place isn't big and the decor is basic and a bit cold. You can see the kitchen and everything seems impeccable.<br/>The chef's sushi and sashimi varies based on the day's arrival. We had the sashimi as an appetizer and it was the best I ever had. You have to try it! The sashimi alone will bring me back to Park.<br/>We also had a delicious asian salad. We then had the Maki of the day which was also delicious and the beef rib, vacuum cooked (sous-vide) and was amazingly tender and tasty. Overall a good experience expect for the service which although friendly was extremely slow. I think we waited 45 minutes between the appetizer and the next dishes even if the restaurant was half empty. Something they will have to improve on.<br/>The prices are also quite high. The decor and service don't justify such a price. The food alone could, but it would be nice if service was better and more effcieint.<br/>We will go back.
Ines
The best!. Went to Park restaurant last night for the second time and sat at the sushi bar for a menu entirely prepared and decided by the chef...best food experience ever!!!! From our server Rachel, to the staff and to Tony of course, owner and chef, the experience was amazing! Let yourself be surprised by the different tastes, aromas, herbs, freshest fish...the crab shell with scallop and short ribs was to die for !!! WOW....congrats to all the team - we will be back !!!!!

Promising Sushi Joint for The Anglo Quartier!. I decided to give this new resto a shot when I heard about the good review in Montreal's Mirror newspaper. At first, I wasn't exactly sure where the place was (I ended up walking past it and going into the chinese place a few steps further only to be mistaken) so I'm glad they added the window decal. The space is charming, open and has an industrial feel to it. If you've eaten in Le Locale in the Old Port, you'll know what I'm talking about. We came for lunch and ordered an Organic Miso Soup and the Asian Salad. The soup was nothing special. It was slightly over salted and consisted of just wakame, tofu and broth. I would have liked some fresh spring onions or enoki mushrooms, but I guess the fact that the ingredients were all organic didn't make me complain too much. The salad on the other hand was divine. A perfect blend of sweet, savory, sour and umami flavours.<br/><br/>I went with the Park Lunch special which was a plate based on the chef's whim and my boyfriend ordered an À La Carte Sashimi plate the Paraguayan Chef Park prepared exclusively for him. The chef came over to our table for some chitchat and explained that he sources all his fish sustainably (Sea Bass from Japan, Eel from South America, Organic Salmon from Ireland, etc.) and uses special Acupunture techniques which paralyze the fish and actually keeps it alive during transport. Talk about interesting! Every fish was noticeably fresh, melt-in-your mouth delicious and vibrant looking.<br/><br/>One thing that kind of turned us off was how our waitress was dressed. She practically had a nipple falling out of her halter top and her teeth were so rotten & brown looking that it was really embarrassing and uncomfortable to maintain any eye contact.<br/><br/>Everything was about 80$ with sake and sweets, tax and tip excluded.<br/><br/>I don't think I'll ever come back, to be honest. I've had better sushi at Jun I on Laurier and Tri Express near Marquette. But, with some staff improvement and sprucing up decor-wise, it could easily rival some of the best sushi joints in the city. For now, it's the newest 'it' spot to be in the Anglophone quartier.

Slightly disappointing. I went to Park tonight after reading so many good reviews about this spot and seeing a video with the chef who said he really cared about letting the flavor of the fresh fish shine--so much so that they don't offer soya sauce on the table so you can't mask the flavor of the fish.We ordered the Asian salad, and the sashimi and nigiri plates. The salad was nice, refreshing and not very complicated. Then we got our nigiri--each piece had a topping which we didn't expect because of those claims about freshness. We thought the toppings were overpowering, not balanced or enhancing (especially the onion toppings). Our sashimi also came with dipping sauces (basil, some kind of sweet onion sauce, and a kind of chimichurri or salsa) that were fairly good but again they masked the flavor of the fish. Did Park live up to the hype? Sadly for us, no. The fish didn't taste more fresh than some other places in the city, and the meal wasn't worth the hundred we spent on it. I'd rather go to Mikado on Laurier. I think Park has been over-hyped.

Amazing sushi but muy expensive. The food was delicious, but after spending 20-30$ a person you are still starving!! Only go if you don't have a huge appetite and you're not broke!

Simply Amazing. I went to Park for brunch with some friends. We had the BLT and the Tune Croissant. That was the best BLT I have ever had. It was complex yet simple. It tasted amazing and would go back there everyday just to have that sandwich. Can't wait to try the sushi, which my friends have told me is off the charts. The chef, Antonio, only uses the best of the best and quality is outrageously high. Try it! You won't be dissapointed!

Park Brunch - Simply delicious. Food & Drink: BLT Kimchee & Coffee<br/><br/>High: It was amazing. They managed to turn the simple concept of bacon, lettuce, tomato between two slices of toast into a delectable sandwich by adding an omelet and a delicious spread. It was served with a small salad that was nicely tossed with a sweet and sour dressing. The taste of kimchee was very subtle…was it in the omelet…<br/><br/>Low: It's slightly pricey for a trio of sandwich, salad and coffee (about $20 with tax before tip) but it was expected and it won't stop me from going back to try other dishes!

Best sushi in town. Bistro Isakaya, Kaizen, and resto Park are now my favorite best Japanese restaurants! It's more like kaizen for its creative decoration or flavor of maki. Awesome overall, super fresh, perfect rice consistency. However, the waitress should study more on its menu or ingredients & how its made -inexperienced, not knowledgeable, and practice to speak to the customers in a nicer way. Service was very slow. Next time I'll sit at the sashimi bar!

Out of the Park homerun. From Sean the Maitre D who ensured each dish was to our liking and who replaced our half finished bottle of wine with a special import we preferred....to the most beautiful plating of fish ever seen and more importantly ever tasted...though the tasting menu at $65 was not cheap, I walked out feeling it was the best value, best fish meal I ever had in Montreal and beyond, by FAR. (the Angus beef in the menu was also great) Even the sushi rice was a star. A real culinary experience in comfortable surroundings, friendly down to earth staff and a clear world class star in the kitchen, go while you can book a table. We just reserved our next dinner for 4 six weeks in advance, just in case.
