Great patio, ideal spot to hang out during summer. The restaurant got a good vibe, so great for big groups. Their wings are good, but I’d give it only a 3 star for the relatively small amount of meat for the price. Their staff hospitality and restaurant vibe deserve a 4th star. Their mild flavour wings are not too spicy, so good for folks who want just a little kick of hotness. Their suicide flavour is pretty hot...It’s got a small hint of sweet, but lots of hot.
Good food! Went with my Dad last night to try this place. Overall the atmosphere is good if you are looking for a sports bar with tv's everywhere. Servers were all very friendly.
In terms of cost, its definitely on the pricier side for wings and apps. I typically won't go out for wings unless there is a wing night but my Dad was covering the cost :)
Having read some earlier reviews of their wings that commented negatively on the wings (overcooked, not juicy, small) I have to disagree. Overall the were cooked perfectly, and were nice, big and juicy. The fries had a seasoning on them which was also tasty.
We had the dry cajun rub and there was definitely enough of it on them to enjoy the flavour. They also gave us a side of sauce after requesting it without an additional charge.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a wing fix and wanting to try somewhere new. Not the best wings in town but certainly good ones!
The Anchor Bar makes great wings. Simply delicious.
We really like the original location in Buffalo, but it's nice to have a bit of it here in K/W.
The wings are tasty, the beer is cold, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is decent as well.
Give them a try. We'll be back.
I've been to the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo and, let me say that the Waterloo Anchor Bar keeps the spirit alive! Now ... there's something to be said for the "Original" character of the Buffalo landmark, but the sauces, the flavors and the service in Waterloo make this a must-visit if you're a chicken wing lover - especially for their trademark Anchor Bar sauces! Yum ...
Chicken wings and Pasta tastes really good! The amount and size of food is really big and I recommend not to order too much at first!
