Absolutely the best food that I've ever had. I've ordered the tasting menu twice and literally every course was so full of flavour. The food is complex and balanced where each ingredient is so deliberate in how it plays with the rest of the dish. I was in awe after each plate!
The service is top notch too. The restaurant manages to strike a balance between upscale, warm and welcoming, without feeling pretentious. You gotta try this place, it's truly something special!
Best dining experience I've had.The staff was very friendly, and approachable. The food was just as great as the service. The venison has to have been the best I've have ever eaten. It was so tender and juicy. I would recommend it to anyone. If you are looking for a true fine dining experience to visit Trio restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Wow! World-class gourmet food in Waterloo in an unfussy atmosphere!
Benoit, the manager, bet us his tips that we'd find their tasting menu to be the best we've had in Canada. We were skeptical as we've had more expensive tasting menus elsewhere. But he was totally right, among the best meals we've had anywhere in the world! The service is impeccable yet the atmosphere is fun, comfortable and unfussy, a unique combination and a perfect fit for us. We'll be back on a regular basis.

Wonderful experience here tonight. Finally a fine dinning place in Waterloo. Didn’t disappoint. Everything was good and the wine paring was perfect.

The wife and I always come here for our anniversary. This was the first time we got the tasting menu, we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious some of the dishes were that we would of never really considered. I urge you to try it. I ended up absolutely loving the cauliflower entree. If it wasn't for their tasting menu I would of never found it. The staff at King st trio are amazing, always super kind and very welcoming. There is no other restaurant in Kitchener/Waterloo that comes close to this level of finesse. 10/10 would not change a single thing about our experience.

Went for French night on 11/16. Had heard a lot of great feedback from this restaurant and finally had a chance to experience it myself. The space is small and intimate without feeling crowded. Kitchen is open and visible so you could see the attention the staff pay to plating and timing. The attentiveness of staff was next to none. Felt like we were the only ones there despite a full house with staff attending to everything so effortlessly. Our waiter, Benoit, was welcoming, attentive, fun and extremely knowledgeable. Watching him work was a master class in passion as he is engaging, professional and personable with all patrons. He knows his food, he loves his wine and listening to his descriptions was an experience in itself. The chef must be commended, we spoke to him briefly and his warm demeanour and passion for his job was evident. The food could not have been better. The portion sizes, plating and flavours were obviously carefully selected to ensure your meal was well-rounded, delicious and authentic. The wine parings were deliberate and perfectly complementary. I cannot say enough about this restaurant. It is an experience in the joie de vivre of food and wine and more than simply a meal it is an experience in hospitality not to be missed. I wish I had taken more photos, but I was enjoying myself too much I simply forgot. Merci, merci, merci!
