Very nice facility. Service was okay. Food came out at an average speed and tasted very good. Overall solid spot. I would recommend this place.
FRESH, UNIQUE, DELICIOUS. We will absolutely be back. It's right around the corner from where we live. i loved the sweet heat scallops - heat with fresh pineapple wrapped in bacon.. and wait for it.... sprinkled with dark chocolate -- (i'm a chocolate lover, who isn't??) Flavorful food, good service and I still can't get over the atmosphere. Ladies - I wore jeans , but If you want to dress-up a bit on the weekends, you would not be out of place.. The extremely private booths would be a perfect setting for a date!! You'd love it
Just what Waterdown needs. For people who are not looking for another roadhouse, all day breakfast or, um, Angel's. The watermark fills a gap left when Dodi's closed; an affordable restaurant with a more eclectic menu, with some interesting alternatives along side more traditional fare.
We first discovered the Watermark on its official opening night, and we're pleased with how they had transformed the previous ESM location to a pleasant dining experience. The decor is clean, modern, and inviting, and the staff is very attentive and professional.
The menu may not appeal to everyone, and Tose with an open mind will be rewarded. The Californa Fusion "Nacho" appetizer is actually a half dozen wonton wrappers topped with chicken and other toppings which would be at home on a more traditional bed of nacho chips. As the menu states, these are not your traditional nachos!
We returned last evening, where I was treated to a lobster Caesar appetizer, an item which was on there first menu, and for which I have been pining since its removal. I guess they tired of my "complaining" for it's return, and chef Dan accommodated us with a special preparation of this wonderful concoction. Perhaps if more of us request this, we will see its much needed return to the menu, or at least as a periodic special offering.
We followed with Caesar salads, which rank among the best Waterdown and surrounding area has to offer. For the main course, I enjoyed the prime rib (I was in a more traditional mood last night), which was prepared perfectly. My wife ordered the daily special, a pasta Dish, which she quite enjoyed.
Bottom line, Watermark provides a great and affordable alternative to the same ole same old, which an interesting menu, inviting decor, friendly and attentive hosts, and a well rounded, if somewhat limited, wine list. This has the potential to be THE place to dine in Waterdown.
