What a gem of a place. It harkens back to a simpler time. It is completely genuine, authentic & good Chinese pastries & BBQ duck, pork & Soya Chicken.
A local fave. Fast, cheap, delicious, what's not to like?
BBQ Lunch Box. This little gem in Chinatown have a good range of BBQ lunch sets that starts at $6 a box. That's pretty reasonable since they serve you with big servings. Be it pork, duck or chicken or even a combination of any 2 or 3 meats. There's also curried chicken rice if you like it. They gave you enough gravy to enjoy the whole meal. They also sell a variety of Chinese delicacies and bakery goods that are simply irresistible!
Cute little bakery... you pay for what you get and everything I got here was spot on!
The round deep fried meat dumpling was super crunchy and done to perfection in my opinion!!
Have to come try!! They have chinese bbq meats as well.. didn't try it but it smelled and looked amazing!
We will try next time
No five star bakery by any means , but pork buns are tasty . There is a charge to use debit . Remember this is a Chinese bakery ,so cleanliness is not the biggest priority. Old school vibes in the heart of Victoria's Chinatown. You won't be disappointed with taste so if you want pork buns I still recommend
Hole in the wall bakery.
So delicious sesame rolls!
The sticky rice and coconut great too!
I was going to say expensive but it doesn't apply when amazing food.
They accept debit, cash, credit (fee).
Visiting from Washington State and pleasantly surprised.
I love to go grab a hand of yummy and so crispy roast pork or melt in your mouth bbq pork after work as an appetizer! You can ask for fatty or less fatty pieces, (I love the fatty ones) and if you are a little hungrier you can ask for rice. Portions are generous, price is lovely, owner is super smiley, will pour more sauce for y’all, and it’s a wonderful treat to share! It’s cash only, but she has a debit machine for an extra small fee.
Tiny carry out shop full of baked goods on display for immediate purchase. Sesame coated bean doughball was excellent albeit a bit oily. Pork bun was also good.
Update 2020/08/13 they are open again
Been around for longer then I have and still makes a great selection of Chinese bakery favourites in traditional fashion (no fusion here). Buns and cookies are amazing with the best bbq pork in town (sliced, on rice or in a steam bun). Only warning to you need to bring cash as they are still old school.
Highly recommend! Amazing buns! We tried the red bean bun and the pork bun! Wouldn’t have found this location if it wasn’t for Andy with A Taste of Victoria Food Tour! Thank you Elaine for your amazing food!
Nice little Chinese bakery. It's a long way from the best ones that I've visited, but they sell decent pork buns and the price is right (about $1.95 per baked item). Worth a quick stop for a snack if you're in the neighbourhood, walking by.
Food is cheap and the buns are delicious. Perfect ratio of filler and bread. The owner always has a smile!
I've been going here for many years, since I was a kid. I love it. If you have anything bad to say about this place then your opinion is irrelevant.
