Our office is hosting managers meetings this week. We give the small groups options to order lunch. They chose LA Taquisa, always a favourite. I placed the order online and then added one more item after via phone call. I picked up shortly thereafter. Always a pleasure dealing with LA Taquisa! Courteous and friendly. Scott even called me in the afternoon to follow up on the order! I'm sad I missed the call as I was in a meeting. Would have loved to tell him in person how much I appreciate their service and delicious food! Thank you for an amazing meal!

Just wow. The taste is amazing. Highly recommended. Ive been everywhere in Canada and this is by far one of the top places for sure. I have Celiac so ive tried Tacos everywhere and this has to be my favorite. A MUST try!!!

Had a great lunch at the Vic West location. I can always count on a delicious meal for a great price when I visit La Taquisa. Best bang-for-your-buck is the 5 taco deal. Fresh-made tortillas can’t be beat.

Their burritos are delicious...when you get a good one. I've had mostly good luck so my burritos were always pretty good. But unfortunately, sometimes you get a mushy flavourless burrito that just leaks liquid.
I'd give it 3.5/5 but I can't select half a star, so I will give the 4/5 since the owner is cool and friendly.

I usually get the 4-person family meal. But we hadn't ordered from La Taquisa in a while. Lo and behold, a container of crisp, fresh, finely shaved purple cabbage replaced the iceberg lettuce which used to come with this meal. Outstanding change! So crunchy. So good.

I don't usually write reviews online but this place totally blew me away! I had been in there once before but I just went in there for the second time today and the customer service was beyond expectations! The cashier was extremely friendly and without asking, went out of her way to give me a printed out menu so I didn't have to read off of the chalkboard too long. In addition to that, when I was walking out I waved and one of the chefs replied with "Thanks Harmonie" as he had remembered my name from when I ordered. This made the experience so personal. The food is really great too and the Baja Fish Style taco was my absolute favourite. Will definitely be back soon.

Had 5 tacos and a jarrito for around $15. Price is reasonable. Had pork, chicken, beef, fish, and ceviche with medium piquante spice. It all tasted pretty good. Service is a little slow as they take their time preparing. Service was good. Overall it was better than I expected.

What a hidden gem — this place is legit. I popped in for a quick bite just before lunch time and in the time I was there, every single customer that came in was a regular that the owner knew by name. The staff was speaking Spanish to each other which is always promising for a Mexican restaurant, they were all super friendly to me, and sure enough the pork chorizo burrito was mad tasty.
It’s a bit pricy at $14 for just a burrito, but worth it for a good meal and to support a local business that staffs and serves good people. If I lived in the area I’d pop in weekly, cause I know I’d get treated good!

Some of the best tacos we've had. The meat is seasoned wonderfully, even the chicken. (Which is where most taco shops and trucks fall short, in my experience.) The recipes are family recipes straight from Mexico, and it shows. Even the chips and salsa impressed.

Great food. On the surface this place looks like a generic Mexican fast-food style eatery in a strip mall in Vic West. However, the food is outstanding - the best Mexican food in Victoria in my opinion - and the staff and service are exceptional. After trying almost all of the local Mexican restaurants in Victoria and suburbs, this La Taquisa is the best I've had, and it is also better than the other La Taquisa location on Blanshard.

Bland & Boring. I seen the 92% like status and a few decent reviews.<br/>I think staff and family members wrote the reviews.<br/>I had a chicken burrito and was disappointed. Super dry and no flavour.Seasoning can go along way.<br/>I feel duped and will not be back.

I'm still on the fence about this place. Have been 3 times. First 2 were great tonight not so much. Tonight beef burrito was bland - mostly been, minimal beef. Asked for spicy ... But suspect sauce was missed during prep. Generous portion of chips but they tasted stale and the fresh salsa was bland - I binned it! guacomle also bland and oddly fluorescent green. Disappointed.

Tasty, affordable Mission-style burritos in Victoria. The corn tortillas in their tacos can be a little dry, which is a little disappointing because they make them on site, but the burritos are really terrific. They make them however you want with excellent fresh salsa choices, etc. They're quick too, which is great because there can often be a lineup around lunch time. There aren't many seats, but there's a counter to sit at if you just can't wait to dig in.

Good food, good service!. We had a cranky (aka hungry) pre-schooler and toddler on Canada Day, we had heard good things about this restaurant and were in the area. We googled it, and gave them a call for take out (didn't want to subject others to our cranky children!). We didn't have a menu, but the lady on the phone was fabulous, very patient and made some great recommendations. We arrived 10 min after calling and the food was ready, it was hot, flavourful, and well worth it (really reasonable prices for the volume of food!). Everyone was much happier after eating!!! Will definitely go back!

AMAZING!!. Best Mexican food in the city. Owner is super friendly, staff is caring, and most importantly, the food is authentic, flavourful, and DELICIOUS! I will be back and I will tell all of my friends to visit. Prices are sooo reasonable! Run by good honest folks with passion for their restaurant. I can't believe how good this place is! Love love love. Thank you La Taquisa for bringing such flavour to our city.

Great!. Went for groceries, but left with La Taquisa instead! The food was fresh and flavourful, a good line up but didn't take too long and seemed reasonably priced to feed a family of four. Seems really similar to noodle box but with mexican food. We thought it was great and can't wait to come back!

Not worth all the hype. I went to La Taquisa with a friend for lunch today and after reading the reviews on urbanspoon I was quite looking forward to trying the mexican eats here. I was dissapointed mainly because they got my order wrong and they were so busy I did not really want to bother them. What they gave me instead was the fish taco and it was cold and unnappealing. Also their tortilla soup did not "wow" me, it was alright but i thought it was too tomato-y. Also it is not too much of a sit down restaurant. If you want decent mexican I would suggest going to cafe mexico, the portions and quality are better their and it also is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some company.

Great Food, but Watch Out!. Excellent food and great value! <br/><br/>Watch out though - make sure when you order they don't "lose your order" and make you end up waiting half an hour for a burrito. Not sure how one "loses an order" when the register is right next to the assembly station, so you're best advised to keep an eye out.

Great food always fresh and staff who are really friendly . the prices are great too! hope though that they eventually make a pico de gallo without cucumber as i have strong allergy to cukes and I really love pico de gallo! have eaten at both locations numerous times. Only complaint is it is difficult to get seating n winter at the wilson street locale.

Great service and awesome food!!!. This place has everything on my checklist, the food is not only awesome but well priced and the service is always great.<br/>A couple of my friends and I went here for lunch and we had a mix of tacos, my friends favorite was the pork chorizo and the shrimp, my personal favorite is the chicken mole so good that I went there again for dinner and have a burrito with the chicken mole, the chocolate savory sauce is delicious and adding a little sour cream makes it incredible!!! <br/>I can’t wait to be back!!!

What the.... Am I the only one who thinks this place is TERRIBLE!? <br/><br/>My boyfriend and I went cause we were going grocery shopping and didn't want to do it hungry. So, we ordered some tacos. He got pork and I got chicken. I ate 1 and a bit of another before I pushed it away from me and said "I can't eat this. It's disgusting." He said his weren't the best, but they were okay, and he finished my other 2 tacos and he was like "Ewww what the...mine tasted nothing like that! If I knew that's how bad it was I would have given you 2 of mine!" The sauce was sweet, the tortillas tasted weird. Just all in all, unpleasant. We'll never be going there again.

The best. I am always on a quest for great Mexican food when I travel to the southern US. I have been taken to "The place" by locals in numerous cities. I can honestly say that La Taquisa is the best I have had by far.

Very reasonably priced based on options!. We really like Mexican food and have tried most of the options available in Victoria. La Taquisa is not my favourite, but they have been consistently good and with more variety than any other place I've been to. <br/><br/>The Good: The Adobo sauce on their tacos is incredible, and they have some of the best Mole I have tried. I have tried virtually every taco filling and salsa since visiting and decided that I like them all - but my favourites are the pork chorizo, chicken tinga (hot!) and vegan mole. The burritos are large and an ample size for a lunch option as well!<br/><br/>The Bad: Despite having "local meats", last time I checked the fish being served was from the East Coast... I hope that changes soon.<br/><br/>The Ugly: Have had some tacos with poor presentation and sloppily made - this won't stop me from coming back, but it does knock it down a notch in my books. Maybe due to high turnover of staff?<br/><br/>Overall I highly recommend the Wilson St. location (haven't tried Cook St, foodcart)!

Very good food, affordable price. Been here a few times and only the most recent visit did the staff seem very friendly. All other visits they seemed a bit grouchy but never failed to deliver a superb meal. I suggest take out rather than eat in. The seating sucks, special warning for people with back problems- the chairs are really tall swivvel bar chairs made of cheap metal.

So delicious! Great service (they always remember my name-I don't know if I visit too often or they are just really good at remembering!!:D ) I do wish it was just a little cheaper (like Hernandez) for tacos, but I guess I keep coming back anyways! Maybe a frequent diner card? Buy fifty tacos, get five free?
