Review Lure Restaurant & Bar - Victoria

I recently checked this place out and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a royal experience. The service made me feel like an emperor, with the staff going above and beyond to cater to my needs, especially considering my dietary restrictions. The winter domes set the stage for an enchanting evening, and the food? Pure indulgence. The dishes were fancy, each bite a symphony of flavors. And let's talk about the dessert – decadent doesn't even begin to cover it. Surprisingly, for the level of elegance and romance, the prices were reasonable. It's the kind of place that's sure to impress – an amazing culinary adventure that I'm already planning to repeat.

Cannot beat the gorgeous waterfront location! Delightful service and enchanting ambiance on the patio. They even kitted us out with blankets when the wind turned! Highly recommend the sushi bowl, yum yum fries, savoury olives, crab cakes and short ribs! We shall return! 😋

As a Christmas treat, my wife and I booked in the 7 course dining experience in the outdoor domes. In the end, this was a pricey experience, and we have zero regrets and a new life long memory we shall cherish! From start to finish, our amazing waitress took care of our every need, was attentive, and made excellent drink recommendations through out the night. She was so totally amazing and made it a point to way way over tip. Merry Christmas to her for sure. Our meals were top notch. Each dish sported culinary highlights and numerous ingredients that were new to us. We compliment the chef on innovative local ingredient use like Sooke seaweed for the Miso soup course. 🍲 The domes themselves were cozy and warm. Overhead heaters kept us from freezing and blankets were available throughout the three hour experience. I would highly recommend LURE and the Dome Dining 🍽 to anyone. 👍

We went to have happy hour on Saturday. It took the waiter a while to get us water or drinks. He apologized and he took our food order. We ordered the chicken wings,apple fennel salad and fish and chips. The food was really good. I really enjoyed their apple fennel salad.

We met another couple for breakfast on a Saturday morning in mid-December. There weren't many people on the restaurant at that time. Our server came over to our table quickly, and was very pleasant and efficient. Being more of an upscale place I thought I was going to be in for a fancy but sparse breakfast. Boy was I wrong! It was great, and a really sizeable serving (as were all 4 of our meals). The restaurant sits right on the Inner Harbour, so you look out across the water towards the Empress Hotel, legislature building, etc. Certainly one of the best views in Victoria. While not cheap or fast, it's an excellent place to dine for a couple or small group. The restaurant is located inside the Delta Ocean Point hotel, which is gorgeous). Parking is available in their underground parking lot (i believe its free if you eat at the restaurant or stay at the hotel) and ample street parking (free) is available immediately beside the hotel. Easily accessibly for those in wheelchairs or with limited mobility.

The staff treat me like a friend. They are unrelentingly cheerful and helpful. The food is amazing. Great harbour view from every seat. I love the experience of being there.

This was the best experience I have ever had dinning out. As a person living with over 20 food allergies the chef went above and beyond making sure I was able to eat what my friends were eating. I enjoyed every single bite of our 7 course winter lux meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and chef. They sure now how to make accommodations. Thank you so much lire and chef Curtis !!!!

I had such a great experience with Kevin! He was incredibly attentive and took the time to go through each item on our menu. Not only was he sweet, but he genuinely cared and listened to his customers. I could really tell that he went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. WE LOVE KEVIN.

We stopped by during happy hour. The included appetizer for the pickle pub crawl was wings and they were excellent! Light herbs and a generous portion. Our drinks and service were great. A really good stop for us. Plenty of shaded outside seating for a sunny day. Looks like a lovely hotel. Very clean!

Amazing service and saying the food is divine is an understatement. Plus, the view... We love the dome, it's much quieter and private. Last time we had the kids with us and we were so at ease there as we knew we were not bothering anyone and our toddler wouldn't just runaway. We ate at peace. It is not just good food, it's a dining experience that all couples and young families should have.

Great food and an amazing view. If you can, ask for Jack to be your waiter… he is awesome!

Laurel was an excellent server of a fabulous meal in our own private igloo.

Ambiance was great. Stablefish and crab cakes were amazing. The chefs seared and crisped up the skin on the fish perfectly. Lindsey our server was sweet and attentive. All staff in the restaurant have been amazing since our stay. Definitely recommend!

UPDATE: Hanson is an excellent bartender. Hope he’s there when you grab a drink at the bar. 🍻 Here for Happy Hour in the bar. Great prices for both drinks and food. Bartenders are extremely friendly and helped us plan our weekend stay in town.

Some of the most creative food we have had in a while. The combination of flavours was great. Fantastic views of the harbour. Easy parking at the hotel, which is free if dining there. Great night out.

Extraordinary ambience and beautiful beach view added with good selection of delicious food and drinks. My favourite dish is 48 Hour short rib. Lamb meatballs for appetizers was also good. Calebaut Dark Chocolate Mousse is a must try desert.

TL; DR: overpriced pretentious food they tried to charge us twice for after we mentioned an allergy. Since we used up their allowance, if you're allergic to something that randomly appears on your plate I guess you'll be paying for double meals AND an EpiPen. The service was slow, the menu is inaccurate, the portions are small for the prices charged and the food is pretentious. The "lighter side" foods meals were the size of appetizers not light meals and their fish and chips were more batter than fish. Biggest complaint: they tried to charge us twice for some dishes after we advised of a food allergy after the order was placed, but before the food was served. Here's how it went... The menu didn't accurately list the ingredients...the Cobb salad, which included Avocado as well as dungeness crab in its list of ingredients, should have listed it as a crab mix and avocado salsa. All three of us who ordered it expected slices of Avocado and pieces of crab since that is generally a Cobb is served as slices of the various ingredients on top of a bed of lettuce. It had neither. It in included a small ball of a crab mix and the salsa included Bell peppers which all three of the dining party who ordered the salad are allergic to. I ordered mine as an appetizer, the other two were ordered as meals. When I discovered the peppers in the mix, I advised the others in my party and one of the other two who ordered the salad advised the staff of the allergies before their food came out. When the salads ordered as meals came they were without the salsa, but no other food was substituted for the missing ingredient, and there was no salad dressing...just a pile of lettuce, two cherry tomatoes sliced in half, a quarter of an egg, two whole bacon slices, some cheese, and roughly a tablespoon of crab mix. We had to chop our own $21 salads? Then when the bill came we were charged for double portions not only of the salads but also a pasta dish for one of the other diners where the peppers were removed. When one of the party objected the waitress, rather going to get the chef who she indicated was the brain child behind this decision, simply stated that the chef indicated that since he had made two of each dish, we had to pay for them all. Some of the members of my party were going to pay however others vocally objected. It wasn't until we asked to speak to the hotel manager that she went to speak to the chef. She came back and stated that "this time" they would take it off the bill. This was an 80th birthday dinner and the whole table left with a bad taste in their mouth. Nothing could entice us go back.

Beautiful space, best patio in town, and great cocktails. Went there with a bunch of vegan friends, and could only have bread and tapenade (it was delicious) or order expensive dinner items like the mushroom risotto and remove ingredients to make it vegan - no thanks. Surprised that they didn’t have one plant based main on their menu. We had to go somewhere else for dinner.

The patio has a fantastic view and great heaters for when it gets a bit chilly. We waited an hour for our appies to show up only to be told then that one of them was out of stock. We had to ask for cutlery, napkins, & drink refills more than once. I'm not sure if our server was just having a bad day or brand new, but unfortunately it negatively impacted our dinner. The food itself was pretty decent but just took way too long to arrive.

Went here with workmates for happy hour a few months ago and was so pleasantly surprised! I loved it there, the staff were wonderful and the view is to die for! We will definitely be back!

We were at Lure for Dine Around Victoria on Saturday night. Great meal, fabulous atmosphere, and Sarah went above and beyond as our server. I follow a grain and dairy free diet; she ensured I was aware of ingredients and made special requests with the chef for me. Thx to the chef too for being so flexible!

Thank you so much for accommodating our mom and babies group this afternoon on your lovely patio. Great food and conversations were had by all. Gold star for making us feel so welcome and for having a change table. We will be back again soon!

Came for a work party and everything was absolutely amazing! The staff were wonderful, the food was amazing and the view was unbelievable! I will definitely be back!

A few coworkers and i went just before Christmas. We got a nice table with a great view and fabulous service. Being pregnant i only wanted a taste of wine and our server happily accomodated a 3 oz glass. We had a great time!

Anyone who gave this place 1 star doesn't know what classy is. Even if they had bad service or a bad meal, it doesn't get any prettier than this location

We came here on recommendation from a friend, and were glad we did. We got a patio table and enjoyed great food. The steelhead was just as good as my friend described, and the Kalamari was done just right. So many Victoria restaurants are mediocre, but this one is above and beyond!

Wow everything was amazing I had the halibut and goat cheese cheese cake yum!!!the restaurant has an amazing view on the water and it was so pretty at night..�

Lure really has it all: stunning location, great food and drinks, and staff that go the extra mile. Whenever we are in Victoria, we eat most of our meals there and can truly say we have never had less than a fine time. Lure is consistently excellent, which is as impressive as it is rare.

Tricia (sp) was an absolutely incredible waitress! Catered to our every need with a huge smile. I come here often but she truly made it special. Thank you!!!
