One of my favorite "must visit" places when I go home. Plus, my mum always orders me cake for my birthday...with two sides almond and two sides chocolate sprinkles and yes, I do eat it for breakfast, too.

Try to go every time I'm downtown to get my fix of a croquette or three!!! Tastes the same every time!!! Maybe they are getting smaller and smaller each time though :0( But ever so good. Love the atmosphere too and all the dutch artifacts on the walls. Oh and the bakery is to die for!!

This was our everyday breakfast cafe for a week in Victoria BC. Great food lovely old world relaxing atmosphere and the nicest people serving our breakfast. It was like having breakfast with family. And very reasonable prices. So miss it.

My favourite coffee place in all of Victoria. Great prices, great quality, and great service. A necessary stop while in the area.

2nd to no one! I’ve been frequenting the door of this bakery for 40+ years and never disappointed! As far back as when Troy and I would be eating deerlegs for snacks after school at Martin and Nadine’s Home in ‘78-‘79

Simple straightforward breakfast fare but oh so good and reasonably priced. The pastries are incredible. Servce was great and fast. Good place to go if you need to hit the streets of Victoria to sightsee and not spend all day at the table.

Nice place to get a good, basic hot breakfast. Their almond based tea cookies are excellent, I've never walked away from this place anything other than full and happy. A favorite stop in Victoria.

We ate here several times for breakfast and lunch. It was so convenient to where we stayed. The food is really great, like an old fashioned diner. The bakery was wonderful. Lots of delightful treats to try. Would definitely visit there again

Use to have lunch here in the 60's when working at motor vehicle branch. Have to have my Dutch Bakery fix whenever I'm back home in Victoria.

My husband said the burger was the best he's ever had and he eats a lot of burgers and the croquettes were full of meat not just beef flavor....the mocha point was on point, a must try!

Wonderful to be able to enjoy some Dutch food across the ocean! The croquettes were pretty good and authentic, like they're made back home. The uitsmijter was alright. The use of toast instead of fresh bread was a bit disappointing, but expected.

I mostly come in here to buy a vanilla slice for my partner and a sausage roll for myself. Both are Excellent. One day I decided to come for a late breakfast and was not disappointed. The food is great, the pastries are obviously amazing, and the prices, oh man, the prices. There is more value here than most if not ALL other places in Victoria. It's so expensive to eat in this city it's really nice that the Dutch bakery offers a bit of a break from the constant money suck that is Victoria's downtown. I come here for sweet things, but don't sleep on the savory items. Everything is quite good.

So many goodies here. Love the mocha cake, Scottish short bread. Most of the stuff here don’t taste too sweet like in America, which I really like.

I went here with friends in 2020 just a few weeks before the pandemic hit. Had the meat pie with yam fries and pie for dessert (don't remember the type, sadly. Maybe raspberry-peach?) Food tasted pretty good and was inexpensive. Ambience was that of a classic "old-style" diner, so I wouldn't expect anything fancy like other places. Sadly with the pandemic I wasn't able to go back before moving away. Wouldn't mind coming back some day to try more of their baked goods.

Have been coming here since I was a child. One of my favourite places and everything is good. The Dutch apple cake is what I remember the most and it’s always a treat to be able to stop in for some goodies.

Had a lovely lunch at the Dutch bakery. The grilled cheese w bacon and added tomato was really good. Sweet server, the place was busy but the food came out quickly. We got some wonderful pastries to go, will come back.

Super service, freshly made food, casual quality eats. Breakfast here is a pleasant start for the day in a place tucked away and well worth the find.

A low key simple breakfast spot for the locals. Food is nothing special but the restaurant has vibes of being a community pillar for generations.

Had breakfast at the Dutch Bakery and Diner twice while visiting Victoria and each time found the service excellent and food great. Also picked up an apple cinnamon Danish and almond Danish for the flight home. Both were excellent. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will go again next time we're in Victoria.

I've lived on the island my whole life and didn't know about this place 😒 I'm so glad my boyfriend told me about it and we got to go together! Your bakery as well as the milkshakes are amazing. Although I did feel quite rushed by the server to place an order and get going, which was the only turn off for me. Otherwise great place!

Absolutely the best place in Victoria to get a dessert. These people do it right! So many selections, you'll always want more than one thing here. Highly recommend to anyone who likes desserts or to couples who want to get their loved one something special, with a memory to go along with it. The service is very pleasant, the atmosphere is bar none. ⁵/5

Great treats today at 3:30. The staff could have put the tiniest bit of effort into friendly customer service though. I felt like a burden instead of a welcome customer that was buy *5* desserts. I do recommend this place, but also ask the management to remind the staff about the above, which cost them a star.

Amazing simple breakfast, lunch and afternoon coffee diner. This Gem on Fort Street is a 3rd generation Dutch family run bakery. You can eat in or order delicious cakes, cookies, squares, breads and handmade chocolates at the counter. Specials daily and very popular with locals/tourists. You will probably encounter a line up during the summer but it's worth it!

With soaring costs of food, it can be hard to find a nice place to have a treat at a reasonable price. Dutch Bakery is old school— classic diner seating, bottomless coffee, individual creamers. The ambiance is classic diner, with Dutch decor and nice little booths. The prices are old school too, thank god; a two-dollar pastry never tasted so good! If you need a nice place to sit and eat downtown I recommend this adorable little diner. I will definitely come back.

I've loved this place since I was little, can never just walk pass the window and if I do I'm guaranteed to circle back and go in. This was one of those days, I was being an awesome 'Aunt' and took my bff's girls out and we couldn't pass the window🤣 Don't let the outside fool you (like everything good) this place is deep inside so be prepared to not be able to make a decision Lucky numbers, lucky them! Got them a quick treat to share, sat outside which wasn't the best idea because now we have to buy more to take home 🙃 EVERYTHING is delicious!!!! Service is a hit and miss because they're so busy but for the most part it's pretty simple. Order, Pay, get out and stuff your pie hole and be Happy 😋 A must when or if you're in Victoria, B.C

Awesome little breakfast spot or a little coffe & bakery treat. We opted for the coffee and treat option - dutch shortbread and spinach feta pastry. Decaf coffee tastes like a medium roast (so not super bitter) and shortbread was an awesome treat to dip in! (was very sweet so if that's not your thing, try another one of their fancy cookies) Spinch feta pastry was light, flakey and flavourful. There is a restaurant inside to sit down, bistro chairs outside, and some wooden seat structure beside the bike lane (might just be a summer thing)
