The duck was amazing- I ordered it as medium well done, and it was perfect for me. One of the cocktails had a fruit fly, and the waiter kindly waved the price for that one. I enjoyed the food and appreciated the service here. One of my favourite restaurants in the town!
Edit: visited again. The cocktails were great as the last time, but the food was a bit disappointing. On our last visit, the duck and halibut were amazing. Time time, the lamb was tough (I had to work hard to cut the meat); the bison burger was just okay; and the mussel had some sand. It seems like experience may vary depending on what you order.

Cozy restaurant, beautifully crafted cocktails, amazing friendly service and tasty food utilizing fresh seasonal ingredients. Duck wings were delicious as well as the sides and polenta. Perfect way to end the evening.

Out of all the bars in the city, LJ is the one I am in regular attendance at. I suggest going during the week and sit at the bar when Clayton is bartending. His wine suggestions always a hit with my food choice and his cocktail crafting is truly an art. Get him to make you a bartender’s choice and I promise you, you’ll be there as often as I am. The photos are all his custom cocktails I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. Thanks for the kind and very knowledgeable service Clayton! You’re the best.

Best food and drinks on our Vancouver and British Columbia trip so far and can't imagine it being beaten! Wonderful speakeasy vibe, terrific cocktails (and mocktails) and cannot fault the friendly, helpful and non-overbearing service. Try the roasty toasty for a lemon meringue cocktail delight! Hard to pick a favourite cocktail though - had to have 3 rounds so my husband and I could try more! The halloumi fries and polenta were excellent to nibble on, but the stars of the show were the New York Strip and the Beef Tenderloin. Would unhesitatingly recommend.

Amazing food, service and drinks! The atmosphere was gorgeous! The tables were quite close together because it’s a small venue and the table next to us was super loud when my bf and I were just coming for a quiet date night but other than that it was great! We will deffs be back again!

Excellent bar with sophisticated cocktails. Perfect fancy date night bar. As a tourist, I went out of my way to find a non-tourist cocktail bar and they delivered. They have an eclectic and extensive assortment of spirits. Knowing it was dedicated to historic bar masters I had high hopes, but it truly exceeded my expectations. Anytime I'm back in Victoria I'll be visiting again.

This is a unique restaurant with emphasis on cocktails. The vibe is good though the place is a little dark with no windows. The halibut is an excellent dish. Fresh, tender and tasty. Prices are slightly above average. The special martini is tasty and original. Overall a solid 4.5 out of 5.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We have been to similar restaurants in Victoria but this place is at the top of the list. Our server was really great. The food was amazing. Also the bartender is on point he is a master behind the bar. We already have reservations with some of our friends. Can't wait

Nice cocktails and friendly service. Would have loved to try their tartare but they ran out. The mushroom pate was delicious -earthy and rich. The vongole was not what I expected but was a delicious balance of tomatoes and clam flavour. The seafood soup with the fish was wonderful -the fish was not just poached but panseared so it still had a nice crust. Mussels and clams were fresh and juicy.

Excellent service and good quality meals. They specialize in a few dishes so chocies are limited, the reason for only 4 stars is that we went for dinner and they ran out of spaghetti and steak which was what I wanted and the expensive cocktails are tiny! I almost started chuckling when I received my Mononoke, pretty much a fancy shot for $20. Somethings on their menu are justified with the prices (like the wagyu beef burger!) but definitely not the cocktails nor the tuna tartare (very small amount of tuna with filler). Took almost 50 mins to get out burgers but service was top notch and atmosphere was decent, not as romantic as other reviews mebtioned, especially when it's busy!

Hubby and I were celebrating our honeymoon in Victoria and decided to check out Little Jumbo. It was a really nice atmosphere.
The food was quite tasty.. the drinks were strong! Service was pretty good, although the bartender was quite busy so wasn’t able to give us much attention. When we were finished and wanted to pay for our bill, he was nowhere in sight so we flagged down another waitress to cash us out.
Overall I would recommend checking it out. Apparently the menu changes weekly so you likely won’t be able to try the same things we did. The scallop pasta was delicious, slightly small portion and a little bit pricy.

Came here to celebrate me taking my nursing exam. This place is the bomb!! We shared the little Jumbo burger which was soooooo good. It comes with Parmesan fries. We also had the short rib which was some of the best I've had. The meat was very soft and fatty and I loved the unique flavors it was paired with. There were blueberries, deep fried polenta, and I think some mayo. It was so good!!!
The ambience inside is super nice and intimate. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of chatting with the bartender Clayton who was so so nice. I had a lemonade but my boyfriend had a very smokey mai tai cocktail which was really good. Will definitely come back!

Unreal!! Unfortunately, that was the only photo I took all evening. After taking the first bite of these absolutely delicious polenta fries I knew we had found a jem and couldn't be bothered to take out my phone again! The food and drinks were fantastic! Not a single complaint at all! Thanks to Yan for being a great server! Will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to every one

OVERALL: Cosy place with great Food and well-selected Drinks. A solid 4+ Stars review. A little pricey, but one of the best restaurants we found in Victoria.
DETAILED REVIEW: The main restaurant feels more like a prohibition bar - with no daylight - it's dark, and cozy but also a little loud. The service was super friendly but also a little overworked. DRINKS: They have a good wine selection and especially some great local BC wines (e.g. the Charme D-ile Sparkling from Mill Bay D.C. bone dry and fresh). STARTERS: The grilled Romain Wedge and the Albacore Tuna Tartare were our favorites. The Rockfish Brandade was OK (surprisingly little flavor for such a rich dish) ENTREES: The steak is solid, nothing extraordinary- but definitely soft and delicious. DESSERTS: Chocolate Cheesecake with the Peanut Butter Mousse was a nice treat, not too sweet and worth it
