What a gem of a place !!! Best clam chowder I ever had. Pacific cod fish & chips - 1 portion more than enough and very filling ;) Tourists, pls stop feeding the seagulls ... "You’re actually doing them more harm than good. Your tasty tidbits are much easier for seagulls to get than their natural food sources. Seagulls end up forgoing fish and insects in order to live on a diet of bread, fries and ice cream. If that diet isn’t good for humans, it certainly isn’t good for gulls. "

We went there at the end of October. We spent a good amount of time trying to find the place because of the joy of Google maps. When we found it, there was only a 4 person line and a 10 minute wait for our food. I could taste why it got such good reviews. I had 1 piece of halibut f&c and one jerk tacone. The tacone was good and messy, a mix of fish and jerk flavours that hit the spot. The cone wrap worked great. Smart idea, that one. The halibut was glistening inside it's crunchy batter blanket and the fries were fantastic. The srirachup was fantastic. It added a smoky, spicy kick to everything. Chickie had the albacore tostados, they were visually beautiful and she said they tasted wonderful. The tuna was seared perfectly. Dockside in late October can be tricky, weather wise but we feel that we lucked out.

One of the best places in Victoria for fish and chips! Also their seafood chowder is one of the best I’ve ever eaten! Staff is super friendly and a beautiful location in the inner Harbour ❤️

If you visit Victoria you MUST go here! I am not a huge fish person and their fish is amazing. The tacones (yes tacones not tacos) were sooo good and their halibut fish and chips yum! I also do not like tartar sauce but their home made sauce I couldn't get enough of. 100% worth the wait. No longer then sitting at a restaurant all together.

Got in line right before catching the black ball ferry. Line took almost an hour, had them bag up our food and we ran(cabbed) to catch the last ferry of the day. Unbagged and began eating in the passenger line. It was absolutely worth the stress and the line. So good, such perfectly matched flavors and textures. Really good job folks. Although from watching, the kitchen could use more hustle, I commend your ability to keep the fry right and a fun attitude with an endless line of tickets popping up. Kudos!!

We had grilled salmon on salad ( excellent ) and cod fish n chips . Very fresh and tasty . Its an informal outdoor seating with a lovely view to the sea . They operate out of something that looked like freight containers .

Worth lining up for 10-20 minutes. I had the pan-seared Albacore. Best fish I have ever had from a take-out place, anywhere. Couldn't recommend more highly

Waited about 45 mins in line for it. But it was worth it. The tuna taco was amazing! Would have gone again but had limited time in Victoria

It’s worth the wait. I’m rarely a fish and chip guy anymore, but this place does it right.

Best fish in Victoria and LOVE the location!!! We went on Canada Day and had the best dinner ever . And then after dinner we had the best seats we could possibly ask for to watch the July 1st Fireworks !!

By far the best Fish and Chips joint in Victoria! The fish is perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, hot and flaky on the inside. Good portion size. Nicely cooked fries as well. Loved the fish tacos as an option as well. The chowder is filling and has such good flavor too. It's right off the marina and close to where the sea planes take off. This is a must try when in Victoria.

Fish and chips fried to perfection! Large fish pieces and very crispy. The highlight of my meal was the tuna taco cooked medium rare. It was full of flavor and satisfying. The views are spectacular. I went on a less busy cold day and the wait time was around 15 minutes then another 10 minutes for my meal.

This has got to be the best fish in town. Staff are down to earth and friendly and the bonus is you get stared at by the fattest looking seagulls in all of Victoria. Everything was tasty and fresh. The pickled onions and sprouts were an elevated touch. I would highly recommend this place rain or shine, wind or snowstorm. A hidden gem located right on the water of Victoria harbour.

The fish and chips are good. They have three different kinds of fish: halibut, salmon and cod. I tried all three. The halibut is much more expensive but I didn't find that tastier. I liked the salmon one the most. It is nice to sit outside by the water eating the food. But as the other reviews mentioned, there was a long wait. We waited about 25 minutes to order and another 25 minutes to get the food. Although the food is good, I am not sure if it is worth the wait. Maybe on a warm day it would be better than yesterday when I was there it was cold out.

The setting is simply perfect, with a beautiful view of the water and a mesmerizing sunset to accompany your meal. Their fish and chips are a real treat. Crispy, perfectly fried, and full of flavor. It's a mouthwatering experience that pairs wonderfully with the picturesque backdrop. What adds a cherry on top of this already amazing experience is the staff. They're incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make your visit memorable. You'll feel like you're dining with friends. So, if you're looking for a memorable dining experience with great food, a stunning view, and warm hospitality, make sure to check out this little street food spot. It's a hidden treasure that you'll be glad you discovered.

Great deep fried fish and chips on an ocean side wharf. My wife and I enjoyed the deep fried salmon with chips and also the Jerk Fish poutine. The is a restaurant kiosk that you order from and you eat your food outside. It is fast food style. There are some seats but mostly standing room only. There are no washroom facilities available here but there are public washrooms about two minutes away. The food was hot and delicious. Next time we are in Victoria we will be coming back.

Halibut was great! Big portions, super fresh and crispy! Salmon was good; but prefer the halibut. The clam chowder was more like a curry. It tastes good. Opt out of the bread for another $1.50 - you don’t need it.

Let me set the scene - rainy cool Monday at lunch. What would be better than some curry chowder to warm up? The answer is nothing. Nothing is better than that delicious chowder. Sweet, sour, savoury and satisfying. Wow, just delicious. I added on a tempura cod taco which was equally 🔥. My only regret is that I didn’t get bowl sized chowder. I will 💯 come back. Well done.

The chowder is DELICIOUS! Kinda tastes like a curry chowder. Beautiful view, excellent food. I highly recommend Red Fish Blue Fish. The wait is long but once you get your food you will know why. Definitely worth the wait.

Before I start, as many others mentioned, there was a very long wait. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place if you are in a hurry and want to finish your meal fast. Yes, but the food was worth the wait. Their BC Fish and Chips were my favourite, with a warn fish and chips perfectly cooked and seasoned. The foods were wonderful. I’d also like to acknowledge their wonderful harbour view that you can enjoy while eating your food, but I went there mid-to-late August, which, there were a lot of bees and wasps, so consider visiting at another season if you dislike those. Their service was not bad, quite kind comparing to other restaurants. But they were really busy that sometimes they forgot our requests, but I had to understand this because I went there at a peak time.

Did the line, waited, enjoyed the halibut and fries! Halibut was cooked perfect! Nice and thick pieces. Fries, were fries. I also ordered the fried pickles and chowder. Not sure I need either next time.

We love Red Fish Blue Fish! The fish is fresh and perfectly cooked, and everything was seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend coming here - we were there 20 minutes before they opened, and there was no lineup. Once they opened at 11am, the line grew a lot - but it is worth the wait!

Really good fish! The sides…not so much. I ordered the Halibut fish and chips (1 pc) for $20. It came with coleslaw on the side and fries of course. The lineup is long so prepare to go a bit earlier when you have enough time. The halibut is good (it is expensive for one piece though). It’s an outdoor place so if it rains, there isn’t much cover, especially with the crowd. There are birds flying around so protect your food. The halibut was good, better than most places I’ve been in. My only critique would be the sides, the coleslaw was quite plain, there wasn’t much flavour and you could probably make it better at home or getting it elsewhere. The fries were too crispy (maybe it sat in the deep fryer for too long) and very salty. Overall, the portion should be bigger for the price, it’s not something you can expect to order and get full on unless you’re ready to spend quite a lot of money. Depending on how I feel with my wallet, I guess I would come back again but won’t be my main place to go to if I’m trying to find a place to fill me up. It’s almost like a snack/appetizer but you pay for a main course. If you only care about quality of the fish, then this would be the place for you!

If you haven't eaten here, you are seriously missing out on one of Victoria's best permanent food stands..right on the pier just below Wharf street. When I visit this is the first place I head too for some fresh fish & chips, or a tuna tacone...maybe even both 🤔🤫🤔OMG delicious 😋🤤😋 Yeah.. Yeah.. the line up can be a bit discouraging, however the wait & the smells build the anticipation of finally tasting the deliciousness this crew cooks up for you, portions are huge, price is about right & your mouth & stomach will thank you!!!

Best fish and chips I've ever had! (I have lived in the desert the past few years so...) As others have said, there is a wait. I waited in line for around 20 minutes and had my food within 10 minutes of ordering. Lots of sit down and stand up spots along the pier. They also have a covered area with some seating. I haven't had fish and chips too often, but this stuff was on another level. We ordered two piece BC halibut and one piece wild salmon along with an albacore tuna tacone, and a small chowder. The portions are large so you can easily share a one piece, I just like to eat like the worlds going to end. The breading on the fish was spot on. The halibut was tender and cooked to perfection. Wild salmon was tasty as well. The albacore tuna tacone was damn perfect. The chowder was pretty meh and didn't have much fish in it. I didn't care for it. The coleslaw that comes with the fish and chips was bland, but the chips were on point and seasoned perfectly. Overall, this was a 5 star spot and definitely worth the wait. Staff were very nice.

A must-try place if you want to try really good fish and chips. Got there around 11:30 am, small line but it moved fast. The line continued to grow it was very long by the end of our stay. We ordered the classic fish and chip and fish tacos, They were delicious and the portions were big so you will be full. It is located right by the water so you will enjoy a nice view. staff is very friendly

We have been here twice so far once last year and once yesterday. The place is consistently one of the best fish fry spots you could try. We love a good piece of halibut, and RFBF don’t disappoint. We also had their cod dog this time and found it incredible. The pickles and the pickled shallots together were so bright against the cod. Loved every bite. The place can get really busy at dinner time or weekends so expect a wait. On a weekday afternoon we got our turn in about 5 minutes but last time it was an hour in line. Honourable mention to the fries that were crispy, seasoned and beautiful. Usually I don’t like fries at a fish and chips joint, but these? 10/10. Big shoutout to Mason for very friendly and generous service. We will be back. Stay tuned to @yetanotherlens on Instagram for a video of this restaurant and more.
