Review Canyon Creek - Vaughan

Andrew Thomas
My wife and I visited Canyon Creek recently and we were very impressed. It was a slow period when we arrived but the service was still great. The restaurant is average sized with a nice ambience. There is a bar area that also has a few booths, the main dining area and a patio - which we didn't see because it was winter time. The greeter and server were pleasant and friendly and very accommodating as we had our baby boy with us. The menu is moderately priced and ranges from budget conscious to more high end meals. There is a great fixed price menu that to us was a great value. There is a choice of 4 starters, 5 mains and 3 desserts. I had the Chipotle Sirloin and my wife had the the same but she added a lobster tail (which was $12 extra if I recall correctly). You are able to sub out sides, So I had the loaded baked potato instead of the vegetables and mashed potatoes. After placing your order, ensure that you request the bread with the garlic butter. It is delicious. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and everything seemed freshly prepared. Our steaks were prepared with correct temperature and were juicy and tasty. The only thing my wife mentioned was that next time she may not add the lobster tail. It was good but a bit small. For dessert I had the double chocolate brownie and my wife had the cheesecake. Mine was great but the bumbleberry compote in the cheesecake was on the sour side. We just scraped it off and ate the cheesecake. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we would revisit.

Great ambience, nice cocktails. The bread was excellent, so had a little too much. Had well done steak, and I think it could have done better in the seasoning department. The greens were also a little too raw so couldn't chomp. It was okay overall.

He rib eye steak were perfectly cooked, I had a nice char on the top. The mushrooms are a smaller portions size than Chop but the serving is still good enough for 2. The peppercorn sauce was too thin, and had the actual peppercorn kernels which made it difficult to eat and enjoy because each bite was overpowered by the peppercorn. Needs to be thicker, like a gravy and not have the whole peppercorn. The ambiance is nice, the seating is comfortable and the service is good.

It was my first time trying it out. I usually go to the Keg and have been experiencing deteriorating quality of steak. My wife and I both ordered the strip loin steak. I ordered mine medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. It wasn't overcooked nor undercooked. It was just right. We also ordered their sauté mushrooms and they were very tasty. For dessert, the waiter recommended the fudge brownie with ice cream and it was a good suggestion. The waiter was very polite and friendly. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and made some great suggestions. We really enjoyed our time. I'll be defenitly going back on a regular basis.

Food was incredible. Sunday for lunch was dead so service was quick. The Lobster Guacamole was epic, Steak Frites were okay. Steak was great, frites weren't good. Get the Berry Smash Cocktail...

The service was really fast and friendly. The food was really good, I really recommend their canyon dip though it is a little pricey. They gave complimentary bread while we waited for our food. The goat cheese chicken penne was amazing even though they are not known for their steaks. I would come here again 100%.

I went here not sure of what to expect. But what I got was a delicious mushroom covered 11 oz steak. Even the caesar salad that I had as an appetizer was much better then what I was expecting. Now I went on Tuesday evening and it was relatively empty at the restaurant, however according to Google this place really gets crowded on Friday and Saturday night. Did I forget to say that my mushroom covered 11 oz steak was delicious?

Wow what a meal and what a steak came here with a coworker and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend for quality and price not terribly expensive. The service was really good the girl was very helpful with wine selections, would definitely come back when I’m in the area.
