Good Chinese food in a Comfortable Western Décor. Went there for lunch. Please note there is no dim sum. The lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu. And because it recently opened, there is a 15% discount on all foods.

Summary: Quality of the food as well as the skill of the cook were both good. Chinese food in a quiet upscale western décor at an average Chinese restaurant price. Service was good. Will go back again and would recommend friends to try it out.

Ordered two dishes

Seafood congee. There was decent amount of seafood in the congee: shrimps, scallops, cuttlefish and fish. The shrimp was very good. It had the right crisp texture when you bite into it. Not soft, not hard, like fresh shrimp should be. But not too crispy like when they over soak it in baking soda, and there is no flavor to it. The flavor was just right.

Black pepper beef and shrimp fried noodle. A good size with lots of beef and shrimp. The beef was better than most Chinese restaurants. It was soft, but still have flavor. The shrimp in the noodle was not as good as the shrimp in the congee, but it was still good. The sauce was flavorful and equally important this dish had wok hei. That is, the cook had the skill to impart the flavor of wok cooking into the food. I asked for less black pepper due to my personal taste and it turned out just right for me.

The décor was western, upscale and comfortable. The service was good. The two young Chinese waiters were friendly, helpful but not intrusive.

So good Chinese food in a good western atmosphere with western standard of service but Chinese prices. I like it.
