Chef Robin has been a huge inspiration and influence on my culinary style, I have taken her courses and went on a couple of foraging walks and loved them!
I have been wanting to attend one of her dinners for a while and I can't believe I wanted so long!
We went for her Outstanding in the Forest dinner this weekend and it was absolutely incredible!
The setting was beautiful, beside a stunning lake. The menu was out of this world! I couldn't answer the question about which dish was my favourite. Everything was unique, delicious and beautiful!
I loved the demo about the ingredients the dinner was made from and the fact that they were lovingly foraged by the research forest staff. I discovered a few ingredients I am very excited about, I will definitely try to find some and cook with them.
This was a gorgeous way to spend a weekend and meet new people. We will definitely try to attend more of these now!
I booked a private mushroom foraging tour with friends to celebrate a birthday. It was great! Our guide, Mendel, was super well-informed and clearly passionate about the topic. I felt like we learned a lot and there was not one question that he did not have a thoughtful answer to! Thanks so much! 10/10 recommended!
Robin is an amazing teacher. Me and my partner had a great time learning about mushrooms and their habitat. If you want to learn more about mushrooms, I highly recommend this tour!!!
We were a group of four.And really did not know what to expect.Our tour guide Robin was informative engaging and passionate. The tour does not include the picking of the mushrooms.It is to inform you what is edible and poisonous. By the end of the tour everyone was excited when we found groups of mushrooms.My group absolutely enjoyed the day and gave it 5 out of 5 rating. Also it is a nice walk around Rice lake in Lynn Valley.
Absolutely LOVED our wine tour! She even had a slight setback with tour guide being hospitalized but we never noticed it other than her sweet dad picking us up at the beginning of tour! She accommodated all our needs including a beautiful lunch out in the vineyards for the 8 of us! Definitely one of our favorites in Vancouver and would highly recommend this tour!
The five course dinner was superb from start to finish! The atmosphere was convivial and each course was both interesting and delicious. The chef was able to accommodate special diets and presented everyone with something to rave about.

We had the absolute best time on the half-day wine tour! Our tour guide, Shelly, was so amazing and kind. She made jokes with us and really tried to get to know us. She did a great job of building community with everyone on the tour. Afterwards because we all lived very close together, she dropped us off close to home rather than at the pick up spot for our convenience.
The wineries chosen were all amazing. I learned a lot about wine and definitely got day drunk trying them all. We left with 2 bottles, but we easily could have bought 10!

Love Swallowtail dinners. Me and my two best friends have started a tradition of celebrating our birthdays by booking a table for just us 3 at the Swallowtail Secret Suppers. Even though it's shared tables and food, there's still a nice intimate ambiance that we block out everyone else out and have our own enjoyable dinner experience. Of course, getting to know your table mates is encouraged. But we are snobs haha The dinners we have enjoyed is at a secret location at someone's house. It's BYOB which is fantastic so you can put together your own sort of wine dinner. They have themed dinners and average $70/pp for 5 courses. Highly recommend!
My husband and I have had the pleasure of many dining experiences with the Swallow Tail crew and we've loved every dinner. Of course the food is amazing, the service is always on point and we love that we get to meet new people with the long table seating or through a mix and mingle concept (Art evening). The creativity with the food always impresses us. Even though I have a sensitive stomach, I am able to enjoy 80 to 100% of the dishes served at these dinners which is an art in itself. Many of the dinners also give a vegetarian option if I find the main dish is too spicey then I can choose this option. We also love that you can being your own drinks. Thank you all for sharing your love of food, creativity and passion.
We had a beautiful experience with Swallowtail, who recently catered our friend's 40th birthday at UBC farms. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and approachable, and clearly had a passion for foraging and food. The meal that was prepared for us was outstanding, combining to create a magical afternoon and evening with friends.
