The donair spot is one of the best Lebanese restaurants I have been to that is hiding in plain sight on West Broadway. The Donair Spot has been here for a while, but I only came here because my friend was preaching their platter to me last week. They serve falafel, shawarma, and gyros here. It’s a perfect place to grab a quick bite. Donair Spot is located on West Broadway near Yukon Street, Vancouver.
First of all, the food was good. I got beef wrap and falafel platter. The falafel platter was really good, falafel made fresh on the spot. The wrap was fulfilling as well with fresh ingredient. However, I kind of felt uncomfortable when the server asked me many personal questions. I think he was trying to be friendly but for me it was a bit too much.
I love the Lebanese chicken wrap here! It's a bit messy but it's hefty and I always eat it really fast, so so delicious! The staff is super friendly, always the same young man with a big smile when I go there for lunch, which is often.
Nom nom nom. I went in for the first time yesterday as I had been craving a donair and was delighted to find a donair place just a couple of blocks from where I live. I had the chicken Lebanese donair and it did not disappoint. The service was very speedy, the ingredients fresh, and the portion size was ENORMOUS.
The restaurant was also spotlessly clean and nicely decorated and the gentleman working was very polite and friendly. He also knows his stuff when it comes to wrapping donairs... I took mine home to eat and was a bit worried that the pita might have gotten a little soggy from the chicken and tzatziki and would fall apart as I was eating it but I'll be damned if that thing held together right to the last bite.
If you live in the Fairview area, this definitely should be one of your go-to places for a quick, easy, and relatively healthy meal.
Very good food, at $10 with tax you can't do better.
Look no farther in the Fairview area. This place is always busy during lunchtime, which is evident that the food is fast and fresh. There aren't any donair places in the area, so this place is a must visit!
Not falawful. I like an inexpensive falafel almost as much as I like a good cheap pizza slice, although eating a falafel is more of a commitment than a slice. I've had worse than what this branch of Donair Spot puts out, and I've had better. The falafel balls were fresh, hot, and crisp on the outside. They were flavourful, but not particularly spicy. Think of them as generic falafel. This place is relatively new, as of the time I'm writing this, so I got their falafel at the Grand Opening special price of $3.99, a bargain that made it seem better.
Donair spot is a Mediterranean fast food and serves shawarma, falafels etc. There are several location around the lower mainland and I have tried other locations and they are similar. This place looks very new and the staff were very friendly and were fast. The vegetable and meat looked very fresh. The food tasted good and the portions were big. Average price ranged between $5 for wraps and $9 for platters or combos. Overall experience: thumbs up
Huge portions, generous amounts of meat, tasty shwarma, spotlessly clean restaurant, reasonable prices, and pleasant service. Check it out the next time you’re craving some fast Middle Eastern food!
