I love this place for lunch in downtown. This is a self-serving salad bar with a large choice selection. They have pre-made salads and regular salad ingredients. They also have hot foods and soups. I'm a fan of their chicken. It has good seasoning.
Work lunch. Working in the area, there aren't a huge selection of food unless you walk all the way to Howe St. Usually, my co-workers and I head to GreenDay Salad. The place is basically a self serve salad bar with the addition of Korean cuisine. They have Korean options like Jap Chae and The Korean Beef Rice ( forgive me, I forgot the name). As well they have the standard salad bar with rice and pasta options. The good thing about them is their food selection but I would say the food needs a little bit more heating up... Otherwise its a pretty good place to go to if you want a semi-full meal for approximately $5 after tax!
Greenday Salad is this little self serve salad bar in my office building, and it is right next to Fujiya. You can find most popular items at a salad bar: fruits, veggies, nuts, healthy grains, etc. But You can also find traces of Korean cuisine like BBQ chicken, chap chae, and kimchi. And I really enjoy some of the little touches they put on some of the items: eggplants and brussel sprouts being grilled, or diced mango marinated with chili sauce, or sliced tomato marinated with dry herbs. Today I think I did pretty well getting myself a healthy lunch box: baby spinach, chopped romaine hearts, quinoa salad with lemon dressing, sliced tomato herbs, diced mango with chili sauce, grilled eggplant, some kimchi, 4 pieces of BBQ chicken, a few thinly slices of beef, finished with just a little bit of organic olive oil and balsamic. During lunch time, the streets of Downtown Vancouver is usually bustling with people (usually people who are at work) in their business attire trying to find food. I was also doing some work and it was lunch time and my friend wanted to meet up. She suggested going to this salad bar. Before coming in, I noticed that Fujiya next door was packed with people trying to get their sushi. Because it was so busy next door, this salad place was easy to miss as it was located deeper within this building complex. The thing I love about salad bars, like this one is that you can walk in and choose whatever you like in whatever amount you like and pay for just the total weight (they call it gross weight I think... But it's abit weird to call the total weight of food gross, unless of course, the food itself is gross).
