It's just a few steps from my dental office, so I get lunch here quite frequently. For $7.25 you get a pretty big portion of food in that box. It is usually 2 items on rice and additional for fried rice or noodles and extra $1.25 for specialty items. I usually get their tofu and fish. I can't get enough of it. I like the flavour of it. Some ladies give more then others, so if you are a regular you know who to look for.
came here while i was away in the area, it reminded me how much i love the food in china town's kent's kitchen and i was on a budget so... definitely need to swing by over here to get my food tank replenished. food is definitely okay, and the portions though much love for chinese food :D and the oil maybe sometimes is a tad bid more than what i had hoped, but for a less than $8 meal or something that's cheaper than mcdonalds "happy" meal i would choose kent's kitchen anytime any day.
overall it's similar to what you'll find from china town and also a cleaner facility :D
When your hungry last minute and you got just under 5 bucks to eat head over here. Chinese fast food on the go. Lunch combo specials are available and this place gets packed real quick for dinner. Simple and fast take out. I go in my jammies cause no one gives a bat shizzle. Grab a number, pick what you want. Cash only, parking is really tight so becareful. Seen a few accidents in this lot.
TWO POUNDS OF TASTY GREASY CHINESE FOOD FOR LIKE $7.50-8! That said, don't expect great quality. Still, Kent's definitely scratches a certain itch. Try to go before 6PM or much of the food will be old and not-so-good.
BBQ PORK. Lot of people line up for purchase. 10%off after renovation. We ordered the BBQ pork and it taste pretty light and the color look good not too much fatty.
No matter how much "gourmet" food I eat, I'll never be too good for some greasy chinese takeout!! GREASY CHINESE FOOD FTW!! You know what? The food actually wasn't bad, considering that everything is premade. Wayyy better than T&T imo. The food we had tasted really similar to what you would get in a lower end HK Cafe or food court stall. Kent's Kitchen is different from other fast food chinese places because the food is actually real chinese food! None of that americanized stuff ;) They have pork hocks, bean curd, spareribs, they even have char siu!! (Though I have to admit I have a soft spot for s&s pork, and lemon chicken hehe) My dad use to go to Kent's Kitchen in Chinatown a lot waay back in the day - when times were tough and he had to make his dollar go a little further. So coming here was definitely nostalgic for him! A lunch combo use to cost $3-4, and the portion sizes were really generous, but now they're raised they've prices to the $6-8 mark!
Their bbq duck is tasty, meaty and inexpensive compared to local competitors.. Went in to pick up some bbq meats and saw that their bbq duck is only $16.50 for a whole duck and $8.50 for half. Ordered the half duck and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. Lots of meat and very comparable in quality and quantity to other local Chinese butcher shops/restaurants, but a little less expensive. Most places now are $9.50 for half or $18.00+ for a whole bbq duck.
Next time I'm in the area and have a craving for duck, I'll certainly head to Kent's Kitchen, but park on the street and walk in cause that parking lot is nuts.
Kent's Kitchen. It was a wonderful place to eat. The food is cheap, yet such a tasty fast-food Chinese restaurant. I would recommend other people to go there. I give this restaurant a 5 stars.
The dishes are quite oily so I recommend only visiting this place seldomly. For the price and the amount of food you get it's simply unbeatable!
Good cheap food. Good cheap chinese take out, it's a little on the greasy side, portions are large, though the size of the container shrunk a bit
