Delicious. Searching for something in addition to a good bowl of pho, the “7 dishes of beef” was perfect to share with a group of friends. The spring rolls are also great. Don’t let the exterior of the restaurant fool you...the servers are welcoming to those less experienced with the “7 dishes of beef”. Definitely will be back.
Song Huong Vietnamese Restaurant is located on Nanaimo Street and East 1st Avenue. It is at the Grandview-Woodlands neighborhood.
It is one of our go to Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. This time we take a challenge ordering an extra large bowl (10" bowl) of Beef Noodle Soup - #8 slices of rare beef, flank and tripe with rice noodle in soup 🍲
Authenitic and most beef noodle soups that we order taste delicious.
Amazing food for a low price. Quick service.

I always crave pho the end of a rainy day, and this day was no different. I came to Song Huong with my mother for a quick bite:. They’re known more for their beef rolls and their BBH (bun bo hue…), but we both wanted just regular pho. The noodles are OK, the soup is pretty salty, and the portions are average. Their BBH was really good a year or 2 ago, but I haven’t tried it in a while. I still come back once in a while, because it’s fast, clean, and convenient. Parking in the back or residential side streets.
Quite busy for a sunday night, majority of the tables were filled. Service was relatively fast and food was pretty decent compared to a lit of other places in the area.
Don't just order the usual rice dishes and pho then give a review guys. Order the Bo 7 mon, beef 7 ways. Absolutely delicious. Not alot of places do this. It's such a nice treat from the ordinary.
Do ever have déjà-vu? You know, Matrix-style where you are somewhere familiar but you swear you’ve never been there before? Song Huong is one of those places, apparently pholicious has been here thrice(!) before yet all present company can’t remember actually being here. So we are going to revisit and review anew to see if they are as good as pholicious felt it was before!
Vietnamese is my favorite food, and I go out to eat in as often as I can. I recently moved here and this was one of the first Vietnamese I ate, it is still one of my tops. I love the pho here as well as the chicken or beef vermicelli bowls. Very flavorful and yummy. Takeout is quick! The restaurant itself is quite large and there is always seating available. Service is good.
Best deal for rice dishes so far. $6.95 with tax for the lemongrass chicken or pork chop rice dish, with good quality. The pork chop was cooked perfectly without being too dry and tough. The chicken comes with bone so some people might find it a hassle to eat them. I get a bit thirsty after the meal but that's expected from most Vietnamese food. I will be back to try their noodle.
Great food for decent price. Always a go-to for pho when in this area because of how generous the portions are. Sometimes it's enough to feed for 2!
Lovely Food, Friendly Service, and Soothing Atmosphere.
I ordered the lemon grass chicken with rice noodle soup (2 in 1) and I like it very much. Very Yummy! The chicken has bones in it. That's totally ok with me. I also tried some fried chicken as a side dish. Mmm yummy!
Beef 7 Ways. 1 of 7 Beef dishes- nice and tender! The other 3 grilled beef rolls were my favourite flavour. The dipping sauce for salad was fresh and delicious!
Will be back. Ordered lemongrass chicken, porkchop, fried rice and the shrimp tapioca with banana leaf for take out. All are very good. They pack the food really well. Prices are reasonable as well. I will be back!
Love coming here for seven beef dish. Food is always good. I look forward to trying more items on the menu
Awesome!. Definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have been to with my girlfriend in a long time. Amazing pho and good prices. Favorite part is how large the extra large is, it's mid blowing! Coming here always now!
Good food and good prices. We've been here several times in the past 5 years. I've had pho and rice/noodle plates and the food has always been constantly good. will continue to frequent this favourite.
Friendly restaurant. I only came here once to try out their special "Bun Bo Hue" and "Banh bot loc". Don't want to say much about the food since I haven't had chance to try all of them, but the service there is pretty impressive. Waitresses are nice, friendly, attentive and are able to describe food for guest. I'll come here again for "Banh bot loc", my favorite dishes.
Good Pho. Nice place for Pho and even has an extra large bowl.
Spring and Salad rolls are delicious.
Though the restaurant itself isn't too clean and service is mediocre with requests going unfulfilled until asked a second or even third time.
Yum. Very good restaurant! great for the fams
Beef (on the side). This place is always reliable, and one of the few places that actually serves the beef on the side. That's one of the reasons I keep coming back. I got tripe with mine too...my old reliable Pho tai sach. Yum!
One of the beat kept secrets in Vancouver. This is a truely family friendly, authentic and almost unbelieveable best bang-for-your-buck places amongst the populated world of Vietnamese cuisine. One can taste the difference between a base broth that has been MSG tainted vs. The essence of 10 hr simmering of beef bones. This is the latter of course. Thus the house special rice noodle (#2) is not to be missed. And this will probably cost you less than a starbucks visit, I kid you not.
Awesome. Try their beef 7 ways...and never see vietnamese food the same again.
Amazing!
Legitimate Vietnam Flavour. Good Vietnamese food, great service, decent prices, lots of good Vietnamese drink choices (finally more than just coffee w/ condensed milk) rigorous menu of meat filled dishes. There are absolutely NO vegetarian options. Beef 7 ways seems to be missing 2 ways...
Definite return.
Team Tastic went to Song Huong in the outskirts of the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood. Do the spring rolls start with a happy crunch or depressingly fall apart? Read on to find out. Food: I ordered my usual round of Pho Tai Gan (Vietnamese noodles with tendon and rare beef pictured way below) with a side of Spring Rolls (pictured below). This is the cheapest pho I’ve ever had. Coming in at just under $7 for a large, it’s hard to find something like this place. The noodles have a good tenderness and are accompanied by the standard fare of scallion, onions, and cilantro. The broth is kinda cloudy compared to other places, but the noodles taste great and there is a good amount of meat which is more than what I can say for Pho Thai Hoa . The spring rolls are my favourite style of spring rolls - translucent and crispy on the first bite, and loaded with filling inside. All in all I think the pho and spring rolls are a great value and it’s a good, cheap time here. Features: The inside of this restaurant looks like an outdoor hanging garden with lots of (fake) greenery, wooden posts, and portraits of Vietnam. It’s a large restaurant too that can hold about 100. Washrooms were just barely okay though. It was wet everywhere the last time I tried it so I wasn’t too keen on it this time. Service: Speed is the name of the game here. After serving you a teapot and teacups, the staff is back soon to take your order. Food started coming out about 10 minutes after ordering and payment was easily done at the front counter. One-liner: Value pho Highlight: Spring Roll Recommended for: Those looking for a cheap pho-filling meal Would I go back? Yes. dineout lunch pho vietnamese food foodie yummy nom foodblogger

I can appreciate a good bowl of Pho. I was highly entertained with the fact that all the Chinaware had their respective English and Vietnamese name indicating what was in them.
The food was fair and adequate. However, it was hard to shake the awful service. I heard it's usually fine and much better.
Song Huong ia a Vietnamese Restaurant near Nanaimo and 1st ave. KoreanGirl wanted to try out their Beef Seven Ways (Bo 7 Mon).It was about $26 and it serves 2 - 3 people. It's a good item to order since you get a sense of the other Vietnamese dishes besides Pho and the rice dishes. After we made the order, a few dishes came flying back to our table. There was no explanation into what we were supposed to do and what items went with which item. So.. good thing KoreanGirl and Mandu have common sense. The first dish is a do-it-yourself rice wrap. You are given a hot-pot, raw beef, dehydrated rice wraps, vegetables, noodles, and sauce to create them. The waitress will turn on the stove and just wait for the broth to get hot enough to dunk your meat into it. The raw beef looks pretty amazing for any meat eaters to set their eyes upon. Since the slices are so thin, you only need to dunk your meat into the hot-pot for a few seconds. The other items to include in your rice wraps are the noodles
In the past few weeks, the weather has turned decided colder in Vancouver. It was time for some Pho comfort. Having been closed for renovations a few weeks ago, it was nice that Song Huong reopened in time to satisfy my craving! This place is always relia
Sông Hương is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in East Van. Their cuisine is from the city of Huế in Central Vietnam.
Some of you may remember this. This was way back in spring last year when we went for a little vacation in Seattle where we came across the first time the Vietnamese Seven Courses of Beef at the Tamarind Tree . It was one of the most memorable dinners we
