Loved the vada-sambhar and the chai . Food was amazing and reasonable and the presentation was simple yet appealing . Very humble owner and the chef was very nice too
This was our second stop on VanFoodster’s Pizza Palooza 2017. This is really in the hood for me! Located on the corner of an apartment complex on Fraser and 56th, this orange awning place creates some fantastic Indian, Indian-Chinese cuisine. . For our sampler, we got to try the uthappam, the South Indian pizza pie that’s made of lentil flour and 100% gluten free. The fried paneer is cut up and place on top of the pie. Added to that is peppers, cheese, tomato (all things you’d find on a regular pizza). For our dipping sauce, it’s a coconut mixture that’s quite creamy and goes well with this style of pizza. Having a fear of raw onions due to the bad breath, I still ate the ones on top wholeheartedly as it was just too tasty!
this place was a surprise hidden gem! Loved the eggplant dosa, Shahi paneer dosa and the king dosa is amazing! Fully recommend it to everyone
We were here at “Dosa Hut” to try their Indian taco. This was the starting point and where we registered for the annual Vancouver “taco crawl”. This is a celebration of tacos: the traditional, and any dough folding around ingredients savoury and/or sweet. And this festive fun was brought to the community by “Vancouver Fooster”: local food lover, food podcast host, and regular organizer of such crawls. I would later learn that this, and the four other restaurants on this crawl were favoured by our event organizer. He had partnered up with these businesses in order to help highlight them. It worked, because I don’t think I would find myself here on this day, or at all, if it weren’t for this event.
My girlfriend and I were walking our husky pup and passed by here. The restaurant was a full house and it looked very promising. Since there was nobody eating on the patio, it was a great opportunity to tie the pup there and eat outside in the sun.
The menu has variety. We wanted to try something else besides the dosa. We got curious and picked the indo chinese seafood chowmein and the curry crab. While waiting for our food the owner brought us a complimentary appetizer! It's a papadum with veggies and sauce. So refreshing and delicious. Great way to kick it off in the sun. The chowmein is good, but nothing wow. But HOLY SMOKIES, the curry crab is so delicious! It's 15 bucks and man do you get alot of crab. The legs are as big as the Chinese restaurant. We got 6 legs in ours and we didn't mind eating messy. It came with rice, papadum, Naan to soak the sauce, and a little salad. Next time we would love to try their curry lobster! When I went inside to use their washroom I noticed their decor is very cozy. They have a few booths too. Definitely try the crab dish here, wow. Very comforting.
They have weekly specials btw
