Good Choice restaurant is aptly names; they have good dim sum and good service. Prices might be a bit steep for some dishes. Recommended are the pan fried rice rolls and the noodle hot pot.
We were the first one here on a Monday snowy morning. You get to pick the dim sum on the paper menu, and they came out quickly. The food is quite authentic Cantonese dim sum, and quite fresh as well.
Came here after the snow storm! And it was a good choice on a wet Saturday morning. Food was decent definitely better than some of the other Chinese restaurants around the area. Decently priced service was quick and attentive, definitely would come back since it's close by
Good choice recently set up a booth at the Taiwanese festival this year. I remember getting a fried rice from good choice last year and it was done very well.
This year I decided to try their booth. I got the netella cakes and read bean cakes, delicious. Then I got the black pudding cake, it's definitely designed for a Asian palate. I wouldn't recommend this for a westerner. Over all the service is excellent and it made me wanting to go back to good choice soon to try the restaurant items out again. I'll update when I do.
Despite the name, it was an OKAY choice for a restaurant haha. I’ve driven past this little dim sum joint numerous times now and have never given it a second thought as to whether or not it’d be good. However, on a whim today, we decided to give it a try. As soon as I entered, I noticed that it had apparently won some awards for something called the “Chinese Restaurant Awards”….that’s a good sign, right?
For a Sunday night family dinner, we went to Good Choice Restaurant on Fraser Street at West 44th Ave. This is a casual (mostly) cantonese chinese restaurant with an expansive menu, that includes dim sum in the daytime. But we were here for dinner, and we ordered a la carte from the regular menu. We started with Sweet and Sour Fish
Good Chinese dinner. Came with family for dinner as it won some awards for some of their dishes which we tried.
Most were pretty good except for the XO fried noodles which didn't seem to have enough XO sauce in it.
Other than that, service was great and attentive.
Good food, ok service. Though the restaurant is a bit small, the food was good. Went to this place for dim sums, no disappointment. Should try their Stir Fried Radish Cake in Spicy XO sauce, very good, will be excellent if they could add a bit more XO sauce though. Recommended.
It's a GREAT choice!. Have been here for dinner for 4 times, and have not been let down yet. Some of the outstanding dishes are braised beef brisket, lobster (in superior broth with noodle or on top of glutinous rice with superior broth), and prawns with superior soya sauce. Other dishes I tried are also enjoyable. There is no question that they pay attention to their cooking - I guess the size of the restaurant may have contributed to the high quality of execution.
This is a smaller restaurant and service is excellent even with limited staff. I recommend making reservation prior to arrival. Corny name, but GREAT food!
Duck and taro hot pot with chu hou sauce. If you like duck and if you like taro...you must order this. It's a huge clay pot full of taro in a chou hou sauce. The duck is tender and rests on top. Goes very well with rice
