Always a reliable place for really good sushi and dollar for dollar, as good as many $$$$$ places. Their fish is always fresh, John is always very generous in his portions (at least to us), and the service is good, consistent, and always pleasant. I have never had a bad meal here.
Sheepie, his friend and I ended up at Inori. From outside, we could tell it was a bit on the higher-end. We decided to try it out. The decor was modern, and clean. The place looked quite new. The benches against the walls had nice pillow cushions to lean on. I had the Organic Agedasi Tofu $4.95. This was the first time I’d ever seen an ‘organic’ one.
Grayson and I were staying on campus for a few extra hours to finish a few things up and while there are a bunch of places to eat on campus, we were craving sushi. Grayson had been here before and said that it was super delicious and I’m always up for trying new restaurants so we headed down to Irori sushi to grab some takeout.

Forget Anatole and her "dining companion". Irori Sushi is great. I guess the review from Anatole who is so used to Japan should really sit down. I have travelled the world and eaten at every sushi place in Vancouver and I will tell you Irori is fantastic. They are lovely people, great ambiance and I have eaten there about 30 times with consistently good sushi every time.
If you live around 4th and Alma - give it a try!

We live right down the street from irori and we absolutely love it. The sushi is fresh and really nicely done. I'm surprised that it isn't packed every night but it's still a brand new place. The service is great and the atmosphere is lovely. The only thing I suggest for them is to put a menu outside for people passing by, as well an indication that they do yummy take out. All in all this is my most favorite sushi in all Vancouver!

New Sushi Place on 4th. Checked out Irori last sunday and was pleasantly surprised. The room was well decorated with comfy seating, big windows and even a TV. The menu was well priced with typical Japanese fare including assorted sashimi, rolls and hot and cold dishes.
House roll: with crab, cucumber, tempura and avocado I believe. Cheap and really good.
Phili Roll: very good
Ebi SunomonoSalad: big pieces of prawn but the noodles were a bit too al dente for me.
Miso Soup w/ Clams and mushroom: really good and only $3!
Spicy Tuna Roll: really really tasty. unlike other spicy tuna rolls this was more of a tuna tar tar than pieces of tuna topped in sriracha. Recommended.
Tuna and Salmon Sashimi: fresh and good quality
Pan Fried Gyoza: Can't go wrong
The service was a little slow at times but they are still quite new so it's expected. The are unlicensed but have all sorts of beverages including of course the tea. We arrived and were the only ones there but by the time we left a few tables had come in to dine.
All in all we were happy and will return.
Some of the food is fairly good while some is a bit weird…
Perhaps because it’s new, choices are very limited. I hope they can provide more choices and keep a stable quality.
We live near UBC and we have tried most of the restaurants in the neighborhood so we were really excited that there would be one more restaurant coming.
If you live close by and you get bored of other restaurants there (and Hime has closed), then Inori can be a good place to eat.
