Excellent meal and attentive service. I had the pizza and it was the best pizza I have ever eaten! The crust was crispy and the toppings were fresh and tasty. First class!

A Neighbourhood Restaurant that offers good food, and a rustic ambience perfect for a family or slightly formal gathering.. I have probably enjoyed a meal at Senova more than any other restaurant in Vancouver in recent years. I have enjoyed mid-week lunches there as well as many dinners. It is a wonderful neighbourhood restaurant...an all too rare a commodity in Vancouver. It offers a selection of appetizers, salads, pasta, pizzas and entrees for every palate that enjoys Italian food. My favourites are the salad cabrese, La Bruchetta, Cozze alla Marinara (for mussel lovers), minestone soup, Penne Salsiccia, and the rack of lamb...their 5-layer chocolate cake is probably the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted (the portion is big enough for 4 people). Good selection of moderately priced wine and wine by the glass...lovely rustic ambience. It is not fancy but the food is good, the servers good and the chefs great.

One of my Favorite places.. This place is a blast. Great food, great staff. I'm there a lot as a result!

Cities best meatballs!!!. I don't usually order what I can get at home but that day I was craving for some good meatballs and spaghetti. I've been away from home for a very long time and I was yearning for some good comfort food. This so happened when walking in west Vancouver where you get one the best italian restaurants around. My nose guided me to many places and I finally decided to walk into this here restaurant--Senova. What a name, I don't even think its Italian but whatever I thought. At the door I was greeted by one of the best mannered staff. She sat me down on a table and greeted me with a smile. That's nice sometimes you know!!! Me being very impatient told her meatballs and spaghetti and ordered it without even looking at the menu. With a smile she went away and placed the order, she made sure I still had the menu at hand. Within 15 minutes my food was in front of me. During the meantime I sipped on a nice glass of Pinot noir which she recommended (boy was it good).

The first bite said it all, this was one of the best meatballs I've ever had,!!! It was a nice size and the texture was just perfect to the mouth, it was meaty and yet not rubbery (the perfect blend of bread crumbs and meat I guess), I could taste a hint of parsley and the sweetness of the onions used just gave it a good balance. It was even better than my mothers' (sorry mom). And it was cooked in this nice bright red, almost refreshingly juicy sauce. This sauce really showcased the sweetness of the tomatoes and herbs. The pasta was cooked to perfection, firm but not too firm and when all those elements of meat, sauce and that starch touched the palate I was in heaven. Washing all this down with a glass of the red was a bonus.

I usually don't do this but I really wanted to see the guy who could actually make better meatballs than my mother. So i asked my waiter if I could see the chef and she said yes and pointed to the guy cooking at the open kitchen (oh I forgot to tell you the kitchen faces the dinning area), which I think is great because its nice to see and smell food being cooked. This guy actually came out and greeted me. He looked pretty proud of what he did and it showed in his food. I told him that the food was good and that the next time I come I want the recipe. He laughed and said this recipe was taught to him by an old widow when he used to live in italy, he just tweaked and made it even better. So that meant that its his and his only. Sorry mom I tried.

So if you want the best meatballs in town, or your looking for a nice date night out in a fine dinning Italian food spot--SENOVA should be on the top of the list. In fact when my girlfriend comes in two weeks, were coming here first!!! Maybe I'll try the Sphagetti alla Bolognese or the Risoto. I don't know yet but it will be good.

Amazing!. I have been here a couple times, and everyone has always beens so friendly and the food is amazing! It is the perfect little date place...especially on the cheap pasta days!

Love it - we're regulars. We eat here about once a week. We have 3 kids and they're great with them too. We always get the same things, Fettucini del Casa, egg drop soup and Tomato Boccocini salad. The bread is fabulous. Great service, freshly prepared food.

We met some friends for a late lunch on a Thursday. The room has a warm relaxing Mediterranean feel to it, and the fireplace in a corner was a nice touch on a cool, windy day. Our dishes were artfully presented with taste to match. The service, though fine to start, improved noticeably when our server went on break. Don't come expecting speedy lunchtime meals, though, as properly prepared dishes from scratch take time. So sit back, chill out, and enjoy the ambience and a delicious meal.
